I went on to use it and the colour was a yellow/orange looking colour and it changes the way pictures and text look on the computer. But the only thing that bugs me is that I cannot find any way to customise it. The black text on the translucent gray background makes it difficult to read depending on the background of the application. I want to change the background colour and the opacity.The text is too small. It does not change with the text size of the application. I want to enlarge the text size. Is there any way to achieve this or is this another example of Apple's infamous use-it-as-it-is-or-get-lost feature?

May 2, 2012I have a problem with my html signature in the notorious apple mail software. When I reply/forward to some messages, my email signature gets reformatted and is totally ruined. It is just the text, the font and the size are affected. The actual layout remains in tact. About 6 months ago I perfected a HTML email signature after many tests with PC's and other mail recipients. It worked pretty flawlessly to be honest except for the image not displaying on some peoples computers but this is to be expected.Â
We have now got new apple macs running lion. I have now set up the signatures again (using the same web archive file from the last signature) and for the majority of emails we send out works fine however there are a few emails (all from the same company) that display the signature with times new roman and in about 16pt! When the html I've sent up should be verdana 12pt.Â
Again this can happen, but what is odd is that if I hit reply or forward to this message my signature (which I've told it be place above replied text) retains this bad formatting and my signature is ruined. Before, even if someone didnt view my signature correct, and I replied to the email my new signature at the top of the message would still be perfect. Just to point out, I created this email sig in dreamweaver, saved as a webarchive file and imported it that way.Also like I said this didnt happen pre the new computer. Â

That user was migrated from Leopard but I do not recall if it came over like that or I set it up. In another user on same MBP the Sidebar items are significantly larger (say 13pt) and I would like to change them to be about 9pt like my other user account.

Aug 28, 2009Many are having issues with font smoothing not working correctly on external displays with SL 10.6.
I researched this issue and found this blog posting:

the blog itself discusses the issue, and the fix is found in the comments.
Basically, for now the fix is to open Terminal App and enter:
"defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2″
without the quotes, and hit return.
a log out or restart might be required.
this fix seems to stick even after re-boots and shut-downs.

David was just some random name I picked when I made my email and I don't want my username to be it. Jul 11, 2007A friend of mine recieved her Macbook this morning, and is alrady having some isues with it. She's unable to get a connection with Adium or MSN over her wireless network. In Adium she's tried both an MSN and GoogleTalk account, both of which try and connect for a bit, then give a error that there is no connection. Safari and Skype work flawlessly over the same wireless connection. And when plugged straight in with the ethernet, Adium can connect.
The internet is running through a Zoom ADSL wired moden, to a iMac G4 (running 10.4, I believe) with an Airport wireless card. And the problem isnt specific to her Macbook. Her father's Macbook is also unable to connect to MSN over the wireless network.Since it works wired, it must be something with the wireless. Any ideas on what specifically might be causing the issue? Any ideas on solutions?

Aug 22, 2009Adium keeps getting rid of my custom away messages and putting in the "away" default. I have to become available and put up a custom message every time I want a custom message to stay up. Then after i go idle and come back to my computer Adium has the damn default away message up again. Is there some preference where once you go idle for a certain time it automatically defaults the away message? I know this might be a silly problem but it's very annoying. my custom messages are all saved and appear on the list they just dont stay up after a while.

Oct 19, 2009This has been happening recently. I get an error message from Adium, saying I have been "Signed on at another location". First thing I do is change my password. 2 days later, i get the same message!! I have again changed my password. The strength of the passwords are "strong". My original one was "Strong" in the first place. I honestly hope this is a bug or something, because I don't want a hacker on my hands...I haven't signed on MSN on anyone else's computer recently either.

Mar 2, 2010I don't yet have another image software on my iMac so anything I am doing right now is in pages. Is there a way to take the colour images and convert them to grayscale. I tried the ColourSync through the print file and it made my poster very grainy and blurry.
The poster is primarily in grayscale but some images are not. I would like to change them into grayscale so I can preview what it will look like without wasting ink.
