during SW to my mini-mac wireless key board the keyboard stop responding. now i have left without an ability to work with my wireless keyboard. is there any why to reset the keyboard to default setting so it will come to live again..
So my paired Bluetooth PS3 controller just stopped connecting with my mid-2011 iMac today. It says it is connected in the drop-down Bluetooth menu, I can see the flashing red lights, but it no longer works with any of the games it did 1-2 days ago.
I did download USB Overdrive to use the PS3 controller plugged in (with Expendabros, which was crashing when I tried to use the controller wirelessly, a known bug) yesterday, and it worked with that. Anyway, I made sure Overdrive was not selected as active in System Preferences. I tried that little reset button on the controller itself. Charged it, of course (it was almost full anyway). Restarted my computer. Add resetting SMC and PRAM (the latter always makes me nervous, as it really screwed up my wifi settings once) to the list. I tried removing the device from the drop-down menu bar list and repairing, no luck. Is it odd that it is showing up in the drop-down list, but not in the list in Bluetooth System Preferences?
In addition, I looked at my System Profile, and the PS3 controller is listed as NOT paired...Lastly, I tried to find com.apple.Bluetooth.plist in "Preferences" under Library (to try deleting it), but I couldn't find it. I did find com.apple.I don't believe there were any OS updates recently that could have changed Bluetooth somehow.

Mail not functioning after upgrading to Yosemite?

iMac (24-inch Early 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I have been using the same email account on my MacBook Air forEVER. I can log in to my email (I use google) via the web and I can still access my mail via my phone and iPad. I keep getting prompted for the password. I first get the "Mail cannot connect to the Google account, pls enter password". It will not accept my password. The connection Dr.'s connection status is that mail can access the internet (green dot at top of connection dr box). However, the status for my account shows that login failed and I need to check username and password. Internet Accounts, under system settings, recognizes this google account accepts the password.
I have checked, rechecked and triple checked the imap and the smtp. I have deleted the account and recreated the account. I have tried different ports. The only thing I notice is that it doesn't want to save any changes I make. Under the account information tab, everything looks correct except it doesn't show a password (no bullets indicating a secret word). I type in my correct password (and I know it is correct b/c I can login via a browser), go to the outgoing server screen, make sure that is correct and click back over to the account information tab to find that the password is again gone.
I am getting SO tired of doing all my email the hard way! Either on my mini or having to login via browser. I just want my apple mail app back up!!!
After upgrading to Yosemite, my computer is no longer an option in the sound preferences. I can't hear anything.

Then when I upgraded it it just stopped working. Now it says there is no airport card installed. I need to fix it because I need it for school!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm helping my mother who has an old mac laptop. I'm not familiar with macs so please bear with me. Her email has stopped working. She's using OS 10.3.9. It's apple's email app. I notice that when trying to send it sometimes says that it timed out on port 25. She seems to receive items but can't send. She's sent things to me which haven't gotten through. She used to have a percentage bar and a sound when mail was sent which has stopped. She has full bars for her wireless connection and safari browses the internet fine. What should I be looking for?

I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been connecting wirelessly to the same router for about 4 months now, using DHCP, and having the settings on the automatic connection. I left the computer on, but closed, so sleeping, for about two days. When i opened it, the battery did not yet run out but the internet has not connected since.
I have full connection in internet connect to my network. Status says connected. If I have the IPv4 using DHCP, the status says that i am connected but my computer have a self-assigned IP adress. When I put in the IP manually, the Network setting give me a green light on airport and says that I am connected to the network thru airport. Needless to say, no browsers (Firefox, Safari, Netscape, or Internet Explorer) have been able to connect to the internet.
I have tried running Disk Utility for any errors, but there have been no changes.

My Mail application stopped receiving new emails at 5:48 PM yesterday for some reason. I have several Gmail accounts, one iCloud account and one Yahoo account.
I can send emails without a problem, but I'm not receiving any. I checked Activity, and it shows that the program is "fetching new mail" from every single account (it even says how many messages), but for some reason they are not getting through.
Suddenly Mail has stopped sending emails. Connection Doctor says server is 'offline' and I should ensure passwords and settings are correct. But I changed NOTHING - it just suddenly stopped sending and receiving!
I'm using a late 2012 iMac and a Retina MacBook Pro, both with very latest OS - same problem on both. I've restarted my TimeCapsule and BT HomeHub

I am in the UK and use google mail, it's been fine for ages but I hardly ever send emails. So today I needed to and I can't! I can send emails from google mail online fine, but my Mac Mail refuses to and I have installed Entourage 08 tonight, updated it and again it fails to send, I have reset my router, set everything to IMAP from POP, deleted and created new email accounts in each programme but STILL neither will send emails!
I am begining to wonder if Google Mail is in fact poo as it seems to cause many problems for people?
My email stopped reciving email yesterday from all of my email accounts. If I go directly to gmail, myuw, comcast, etc, all email are there.

I'm fairly new to Macs, I just got my Macbook back in March and I haven't had any problems with it until lately. Last week I sent a few very large emails through my mail client which is attached to my gmail account. I'm not sure what happened but while sending them, one in particular, stopped. Now, every time I open mail this email shows up under "On My Mac" under recovered up to 35 times. (Sorry, it's currently 71.) Since it's a huge email it's slowing everything down and making it impossible to use mail. On occasion when I try to delete it my entire mac freezes momentarily. I've tried deleting it in the folder but it always comes up again when I open my mail client and multiplies.

My mail program has stopped receiving mail from the server, Cincinnati Bell, zoomtown. I have had numerous weird sent items that come back as undeliverable to people not in my contacts. I was installing X-Plane 9 on my fairly new Mac Pro when it stopped working. I switched disks and nothing happened, the drive just won't spin up. I have tried a number of different CDs and DVDs and none will spin up. I can verify that by looking at the position of the disk when I put it in and take it out, it never moves.I have tried the usual reboot and resetting the PRAM. (I did the command option o r and un-plugged with power button for 5 seconds)I tried calling Apple care 2 times and the message I get is, the call center is closed. That's it, they don't even tell what hours they *ARE* open.
