View 2 RepliesI was wondering how do you block phishing scam emails from Mail (which I thought was full proof for this kind of junk emails)? Because quitely frankly the ones I'm receiving are irritating me largely because they're from banks I don't even have accounts with, also they're about internet banking which I don't even do. I've tried marking them as "junk mail" and then deleting them from my trash can in mail. This doesn't seem to stop me from receiving them?

I've run the disk utility verify disk several times and come up with an error (post title) indicating I have a corrupt HD and need to repair. I've rebooted with command R and run disk utility to repair the disk and it says everything is fine. Reboot to normal mode and verify continues to show the error.
Other info says the file system exit code is 8.

Since I upgraded to Yosemite my Mail has gone amok. Emails show up directly in Archive, instead of for instance Inbox or Sent. Some sent emails don't show up in any mailbox at all, but apparently they reach the recipient.
How can I delete the Archive mailbox? It works totally different than how it is described in manuals. I have NEVER moved any email to Archive, but it is full of all sorts of emails from all the other mailboxes. I want ALL my received emails in the Inbox and my sent emails in the Sent box.

Seems many have similar problems but not quite the same.
I've upgraded to the latest Mac OS. Since then I can seem my Virginmedia (Gmail) emails. They are there and q quick workaround is to do a search on "@" and hey presto.

Unable to send emails (for the past 5 days); I can receive them. Virgin say everything is set up correctly so I should contact Apple.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Mail application stopped receiving new emails at 5:48 PM yesterday for some reason. I have several Gmail accounts, one iCloud account and one Yahoo account.
I can send emails without a problem, but I'm not receiving any. I checked Activity, and it shows that the program is "fetching new mail" from every single account (it even says how many messages), but for some reason they are not getting through.
My emails won't go out. It says recipient rejected because it doesn't allow relaying?
View 2 Replies View RelatedApple in their wisdom feels that their emails are so important they should be highlighted in mail. i dont agree and do not need a highlight on their latest sale email.
i followed the support web instructions of removing the 'hidden' rule from mails preferences (funny it was not visible but did remove the 'apple news rule')
however, even after restarting mail - emails from apple are still highlighted (highlit?) ...

When I tried to set up Outlook.com account with Mail I was not able to locate Outlook.com settings automatically like one would on iPhone. Anyhow, I set it up manually using the IMAP settings. It works great but the only problem is that it does not push emails instantly. It checks for email in set intervals. How can I set this to push emails?

Suddenly Mail has stopped sending emails. Connection Doctor says server is 'offline' and I should ensure passwords and settings are correct. But I changed NOTHING - it just suddenly stopped sending and receiving!
I'm using a late 2012 iMac and a Retina MacBook Pro, both with very latest OS - same problem on both. I've restarted my TimeCapsule and BT HomeHub

Using ClamXav, I keep getting phishing alerts. Even as I scan each day there are at least 7 new alerts, all of which I've instructed to be quarantined. Any ideas on what I can do to protect myself? How worried should I be?

A scammer is targeting MobileMe users with an email purporting to be from Apple. The email claims there are problems with the user's subscription renewal information, and directs them to a web site that asks them to reenter their credit card information. The email (below) appears to come from no[URL], and looks fleetingly like something Apple might send, although the outdated graphics come from .Mac marketing materials. Rather than directing users to login to their actual account at me.com and enter the SSL-protected accounts detail area, the phishing email links to a fraud site at [URL]

In another attempt to con MobileMe users into providing their credit card information, a scammer has sent out spam spoofed to appear to come from Apple, which directs users to a fake site designed to look like Apple's. Users who follow the email link and enter their information on the poorly formatted, fake Apple web page will be sorry.
View 28 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of ensuring no one is accessing my hard drive and downloading my files when I'm online?
I have just made the mistake of replying to an email request from what I thought was my online bank - and stupidly gave out my log on information. I contacted my bank who confirmed this was a fraudulant email. Thankfully they have blocked my accounts. But I was told the fraudsters could have infected my computer with a virus - enabling them to get files from my hard drive when online.
I have an Intel core duo iMac with Leopard OS. Is there a way to check if anyone is accessing my files or block access when online?
I have the weirdest problems. Every once and a while when I receive a new email, the text of the email is from a year prior. It is the weirdest thing. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?
