My mom has been wanting a Mac Mini for quite some time. The only thing holding her back is that she needs to run a Citrix client embedded in Internet Explorer . I know that there is no IE for Apple anymore and we are really trying to avoid running VM or Parallels ( $ ). Does anyone know if there is a work around?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Citrix Web to access my office network. It was working fine on my iMac for several after I installed Snow Leopard. But today, I'm getting an odd error message. I log in, and then a box pops up that says I need to make sure that the remote server is listening on Port 1494. I am not able to connect to my office network. Has Snow Leopard changed anything so that another program is using that port? I have not upgraded my Macbook yet and I was able to connect, so I don't think my office network is the problem. I have tried Safari in both 32 bit and 64 bit, and I've tried more than one Citrix client. So there must be setting on my computer I need to change - if I could only determine what it is.

My work site requires me to download an internet plug-in (Safari comes up with the message - "Safari cannot find internet plug-in"). After following companies directions and installing the plug-in I still get the same message when I try to visit the site.

Yesterday, Safari began crashing every 45 minutes. I get a message that says Safari quit unexpectedly because of a plug-in called .MasterofDefense.tmp. I used finder to search my computer, and I cannot find this file. PlugIn Path: /Users/<myname>/Library/Application Support/.MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Identifier: .MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Version: ??? (???) The file is NOT in that location mentioned in the crash log. According to web searches, MasterofDefense is some game, but I have never installed any games on my machine.

I was wondering if there was a way to use the iPhone's audio jack as an external jack for the macbook pro via USB or so, as i own the 13 inch model, that only offers one jack.
I want to use garage band just trying out a bit and i'd need an extra jack for the headphones, otherwise the microphone will record what's played over the internal speakers.
EDIT: I forgot to say that I already tried things like AirPhones, meaning wireless stream to iphone. But there's unfortunately few moments of latency, so i hardly can use it for recording.
I am trying to figure out what is making my June 2009 17" UBMP act up - tons of spinning wheels, lock ups, trackpad issues etc. I have done verify & repair permissions twice, all software updates are in place, done a PRAM reset twice and run Tech Tool Pro Deluxe which shows no issues. Someone asked me to check that my Plug-Ins were OK but I have no way to tell as I know jack about technical things! I have managed to copy what they are on a PDF attached.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm really hoping for an update to the Mini at Macworld. With a new mini, I'd love the ability to connect it to my 36" HDTV and connect wirelessly with a keyboard and mouse from my couch. I would love to be able to use the Mac from the comfort of my living room for both work and pleasure. (I'm a bit of a gamer as well)
So my question is, is this a pipe dream?
Will the new Minis support an output to a HDTV? (Or for that matter, do the current minis?)
How far is the range for a standard bluetooth mouse & keyboard? Would it be possible to put the keyboard and mouse on my coffee table (about 6-8' from the TV)?
And most importantly, if this is all possible, will this make me the ultimate couch potato, and will I ever see daylight again?
When I plug in a USB Flash Memory, it instantly pop up a message that says I need to restart my computer, by letting the power button presed for a while or pressing the restart button (Which I dont have). It has a 0/1 button-like image on it.
At first I thought my USB had a virus or some corrupt file, but when I realized there were no mac files (Just Windows and universal), I pluged in another USB, and the same thing happened.
Is there no way around this? is the USB simply for power? IE can i just plug it into a powered USB hub (thats not actually plugged into the air?

however it seems there is only one FireWire port on the back of the Mac Pro,

Just seen that Maps, by Google, is offering an 'Earth View' I downloaded the plug in but am having trouble installing it. I have the .dmg file which when i open shows me the plug in as a sort of Lego brick and states I must double click to install. So i double click. Nothing appears to happen, but i assume it has and go back to Google Maps which tells me i still need the plug in! Please tell me how to manually install plug ins or what could be wrong with my poor mac.

I have the mac mini adapter that allows you to plug into a VGA monitor. I noticed my windows laptop has this same plug in on the side of it. So I Ihave the VGA cable going from the Mac into my windows laptop now (instead of my viewsonic monitor)... is there a way to view my mac mini desktop using my windows laptop screen instead of a separate monitor? View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a USB disc drive for my mac book air as well as an external hard drive. I'd like to plug the USB disc drive in, insert the music CD and upload my music to my iTunes folder on the hard drive. Unfortunately, the Disc Drive (the MacBook Air Superdrive) only work when I plug it in direct to the MacBook - not through a USB splitter. As the Air only has one USB port, I can't also plug the external hard drive in. How can I get over this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently downloaded the plug-in "ClickToFlash" which lets you choose when you want flash to launch, if at all, and seems pretty useful. The downloading/installation was no problem, but I heard that you can get youtube to be automatically "white listed", so I assume there is a preferences section for this plug-in? If so, where is it? If not, how would I go about doing the aforementioned.

It would seem a waste to have to buy a brand new adapter just for a plug, especially considering I've had to buy 4 of these already due to faults.
