I am just wondering why everytime I right click a file then click "Open with.." some Windows programs come up?
I just recently formatted the entire system and haven't even got "VMware" or either Windows installed so I don't know why it's there.
I recently downloaded the Swagbucks toolbar to Safari. I have since uninstalled it, but now my menu options are weird. How come?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to attach a file into hotmail message, nothing happens and I lose the icons showing attachment options. In addition the email states that the attachment ID has a bad format. This problem just surfaced this week. Never had this in the past year and a half!

Within the past week something changed after running a Mac software update that resulted in only having 2 display resolution options. The display choices now are limited to 1900 X 1200 and 960 X 600. I think this happened after having a Mac software update. I don't know what the updates were other then they were suggested as part of the automatic software updates check.
Running OS X Lion version 10.7.4. Graphics = NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 128 MB. I have rebooted and checked for additional updates put still only seeing 2 choices. why all the other resolution options disappeared?

I have a 1.67 GHz Powerbook G4. This morning it was fine. When I got home from work, it decided that it suddenly no longer wants to stay on when not plugged in. The battery is showing a full charge. The light on the plug is green. But the second I unplug the cord from the laptop, the entire thing shuts down.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just plugged headphones into the headphone port on my iMac(dual core 2.4) I went to system preferences, sound, then output and only the internal speakers show up. I rebooted the machine and still, same thing.
I tried the same headphones on the eMac sitting next to it, and it worked just fine. Still confused about the iMac
I have seen a few videos about mastering and gave it a try myself. It can be done by clicking the master tab, then going to the Input 1-2 column setting and then clicking setting - mastering, etc.When I first did this a few weeks ago, there were many options such as hip hop mastering, electronic mastering, etc.Now, when I do so, I have different - much less enticing options and have no idea where the good ones went.

They have exactly the same IMAP settings other than username and password.My email messages for the account that doesn't work, shows up fine on my iPhone/iOS and gmail.com.None of the messages in the inbox or folders/labels show up. The count is zero. However they all show up fine in folders in iOS and on gmail.com.There is an indicator for one new message in the inbox, but none show.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Mac Pro and do lots of Photoshop and want to swap out the stock 320 gig drive. I'm leaning towards 2 ultra fast Seagate 1 TB drives in a raid 0 configuration. The Raptor noise level scares me a bit.
Anything negative to say about the Seagate drives? Any other configs?
I recently purchased a 2.8 octo Mac Pro that came with a stock 200 Gig HD. I purchased a WD 640 Caviar Blue HD for a boot drive and 3x 1 Tb Samsung Spinpoints for data and backup. When I got the Mac I simply took out the stock drive, put in the WD and did a clean install off the install DVD?s. The machine performs very well when it?s running my apps, like Pro Tools, but it?s sometimes a bit fragile when performing mundane tasks like burning dvd?s while surfing safari f.eks. It tends to freeze up quite a bit. Then I noticed also that the Samsung drives I put in it are a bit unresponsive. i.e. when i move files between folders on the extra Samsungs there is a few seconds of "lag" while before I can open the folders again.

I have called both Apple and ATT to address an inconsistent DSL connection with my iMac. Paying for highest speed available and at times it's blazing fast and other times, it's quicker to go to the library to look up the info!Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there were any possible solutions to get it more consistent.

On a rolled out dialog box like the one shown below, how does one go about selecting something other than the highlighted button (in this case Save...) using the keyboard?
I think Escape usually works to select Cancel, but how would I select Don't Save using the keyboard? Why can't I simply Tab over to it and hit the space bar or Enter?
While we're at it, I'm familiar with taking a screenshot of an entire window (CMD+SHIFT+4 followed by Space) but that doesn't seem to work to take a screenshot of a window + the dialog box, other than the sloppy way I just did?

Since I'm starting fresh any advice on the best way for me to build internal storage so that I dont waste my money (spent $6K last night).
I have a PowerMac G4, dual 1.25, 2 gigs of RAM and I'm thinking about upgrading. I don't have a big budget so the new Mac Pro is out of the question. I've been trying to figure out what's going to be more beneficial for me: 1) I upgrade the processor on my G4 to the maximum of dual 1.8 or 2) get an iMac, maybe the lowest version of 2.4Ghz Intel core duo.I'm an audio engineer and my projects require a lot of audio recording, mixing, and mastering. Once in a blue moon I have to work audio synced up to video. That was the reason I HAD to get a PowerMac 4 years ago and not the old version of the iMac. All my software work perfectly with OS 10.3.9 so it's not a requirement for me to get a better operating system. In fact, one application is still not available for OS 10.5.

Where before I could change my battery preference from "Better Performance, Normal or Better Battery" right in the menu bar when I clicked it.
Now, It doesn't give me that option and I can only change it in System Prefs.?
Is there an option to check that might have some hoe got unchecked?
I'm a new Mac owner (i know i can hear you grown lol) and sorry to ask such a boring question but I can't seem to get my Expose to work, i can get spaces to work just fine although not when using the nominated hot keys - it only works when i click on the icon in the dock. I can't see anything in this forum that really details every step of expose and I don't want to to play with that app too much in case i create an abomination that I don't know how to fix.

At first i thought someone else on the network (someone i know and allows to have access) just happened to pick the same IP for a static IP as I have. So i simply changed my IP from static to dynamic.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a folder of files which I add to on a weekly basis, by dragging the file in there, and it just goes to the bottom. So when I open the folder, all the most recent stuff is at the the bottom of the folder. Now I've got a problem since I updated to Snow Leopard. When I opened that folder, everything was arranged alphabetically, and arrange by date makes the newest go to the top.
Is there any way I can adjust this so that it reverses, like when you do a search for something and you arrange by order, ascending or descending?

The problem being when viewing video the laptop gets hot and the graphic become corrupt and duplicate video and create odd squares on the screen. View 2 Replies View Relatedmy MBP has been really underperforming. Things take longer on my Macbook, then on my 10yr old machine with 512mb of ram and openbox. Also, firefox, has been going extremely slow, and crashing. I'm not using beta, and I have opened it in safe mode, and it still crashes.I know there must be something wrong. Both my brother and some of his friends with macs have also been experiencing stuff slowing down. So the first thing, I though it might be is that there is an update, or something like that. So I updated, but no go. It's still slow. And just the other day, I got to see this for the first time.

I cant get bootcamp on there because it says that it doesn't suppost 64 bit. I can get to the files but I dont know which to install from the OSX 10.5 disk.
