I was working on a clients machine yesterday and he has OS X 10.6.4. For some odd reason the network shares just randomly disappear, also Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (and Reader) crash whenever I attempted to open them.

I installed Acrobat 8 Pro and it keeps crashing after start. I've already tried deleting the plists in Preferences and installed the Updater Plugin w/Framework fix. Enclosed below are the Sys Config and Problem Details.

Every time I try to download the appropriate version as stated by Adobe off of their website, it won't allow me to do it. The cursor points at the download, but clicking on it does nothing.

I am unable to load any Adobe applications. I keep getting an error that I do not have the correct application/program to do the install of Acrobat X Pro and suggests going to the app store to download such software/programs. The Adobe product/media is for MAC and Adobe confirms suppport for 10.7.3, however the media only contains a .pkg installer file not a .dmg installer file which I need for MAC. I have tried two different DVD media for the same software and this is the case with both.

I'm running OSX.4.11 on a Dual 500 G4. I've recently lost the ability to use Acrobat 7 Professional for some reason. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, running all updates as well. I've trashed preferences. I've tossed /Library files. It still won't launch. Distiller will launch but won't distill at all. It just processes then crashes. Seems to have begun when I installed Adobe Reader 9. I also have CS3 & 4 apps installed which run fine. I know the conflict lies somewhere in all that but don't know exactly where. I am able to generate PDFs from other apps like Quark but I need the editing abilities that Pro offers.

So on my Mac Pro, when I get into my NAS (linux based), the files take like 3 seconds to actually appear in the window after I click on the share. On my Windows 7 machine, that is next to the mac, on the same switch, takes not even a second, it's instant. I have always had an issue that the Mac is slow when browsing network shares. Even if it's another Mac.

A cloned share, "eve-2" (the name of my iMac is "Eve") shows up across the network as a PC share. OS is Snow Leopard, fully updated. Model iMac8,1. I've been having some very odd internal network connectivity issues the last few weeks.First, here's what I'm working with:-1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.2File server running Windows Server 2008 64bit-Two SMB shares I access from the file server for archive storage and backup purposes from the Mini-All networked together into a Linksys WRT54G running DD-WRT v24-sp1
So here's the deal. I can start up the Mini from a fresh boot and access my SMB file shares with no problems at all. The file server is pingable, and I can RDP into it with Remote Desktop. But put the computer to sleep? One third of it breaks--the SMB shares become inaccessible until after a reboot, BUT I can still ping the file server AND I can still RDP into it without any issues. It's for this reason I think it's a Finder-specific issues. It seems to "forget" my SMB shares after putting the computer to sleep, then can't "find" them again.
FWIW, I thought it might be a name resolution issues, so I tried all this using the straight-up IP address but nothing changed. The SMB shares aren't accessible, but I can still ping and RDP into the file server without issue.It's getting very frustrating rebooting my Mac virtually every time I need to access my file archive. It's also makes a consistent backup plan difficult, if not impossible. Oh, and one more data point. I've got a work laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. When the Mac has issues accessing the SMB shares, I can access the file shares just fine (both by hostname and IP address) on the Windows 7 machine.I'm quite at a loss here. I'm contemplating a fresh install here, but not really confident it would make a difference.
when I open any network shares on my macs, they will open up but then start expanding certain folders. This keeps happening every time I open them. I have tried compacting them again, but everytime I open them from new it just expands them again.Â

Just replaced my 120 GB drive with a 640 GB drive. All went well with the install. I installed Snow Leopard first on the drive via external enclosure, then installed the drive and migrated my user profile via Migration Assistant. All updates are current and I even reset the PRAM. I get some sluggishness sometimes when web browsing. Seems like the system stutters a bit, I get the spinny pinwheel, then all is fine. There is also a bit of a lag in MS Word, or typing emails.

The second I pressed the reject button, the headset volume decreased by half. When the call finished I played around with the volume settings (from the headset itself, from the keyboard and from within system preferences) to no avail. I removed the headset and plugged it back in. No change. I restarted - no change I shutdown - let things sit for a few minutes and then started up again - no change Here is where it starts to get a little weird. When I play iTunes or some such similar application the volume plays at a normal level but as soon as I use Skype or some other random applications (voice mainly I think) the volume is very low again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Adobe CS4 regularly. I could print fine from all apps in CS4 until yesterday when I tried to print from InDesign CS4 and the app crashed. All other apps in CS4 print fine, as do all other apps. I've attempted to create a new print preset and also tried to edit the printer default, but InDesign crashes every time.
The only things I've done differently (or new) was to test a new antivirus app (Anti-Virus Software for Mac Protection | Kaspersky Lab United States) and also to download and try out the new Firefox 11. I also created a couple of pdf files in InDesign (as I've done dozens of times with no problems).
