I have the newest mac ox software and everything is updated from what i can see. but if i try to watch some video i d/l from the web i can't get any sound from then just the video. anyone else having this problem or know what i can do to make it work?

I have an older Macbook Pro 2.33 ghz and lately when I've been watching videos on Youtube, Megavideo, etc. the video will become choppy and the sound becomes distorted and gargled. This problem is becoming increasingly annoying (just about everyday) and I don't know what is wrong. I've noticed that this happens when the computer gets really HOT. I usually have to shut the computer so that it goes to sleep and cools down for a little while. When I reopen the computer the video usually plays fine for a while. Anyone else experience this problem or know of a solution?

What happen and is their a program that can maybe retreat the sound it maybe its still in the file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a new mac user and a sound similar to the "Frog" sound effect keeps playing at random times and with no apparent reason. It just plays and at different times...Sometimes it's every 20 seconds, sometimes more or less. I disabled the sound in System Preferences and it kept playing. I don't know what else to do since i'm new with mac I also reseted the PRAM and it stopped for a while but now it started again. I've noticed that most of the times it sounds when i'm charging the battery, i don't know if it has something to do.

When I turn my Mac on it goes through the boot up process and as it about to come to the desktop image it selects the HD Mac as if I had pressed it with the mouse and then starts the cancel sound bonging away until I press the escape button on the keyboard.This normally keeps it at bay. Although on occasion it suddenly selects it again and starts playing the cancel sound again. When I unplug the keyboard it doesn't make that sound at all. I hate the wireless keyboard but wonder if I buy another wired one will it start making the same noise again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DVD with a video on it that plays fine on a PC but on my Macbook Pro it says that it's a blank DVD and will not play the video that is on the disc. The video plays on Windows Media Player when I open it on a PC, so I installed the newest version of Flip4Mac thinking this would work, but the disc still shows up as a blank disc and cannot be played. I work in the legal field, so I got the DVD from an attorney, and I frequently tend to have problems opening videos on my macbook pro that come from the legal field.

Having an odd problem with Front Row. I have a G5 w/ dual 2GHz processors running the latest of Leopard. I've seen a lot of complaints about FR with laptops, but not much with towers. The menu system and interface works fine, but when I select a trailer to view, it comes up, but no video, only audio is playing. On other boards, some have said that it gets flaky with dual-monitor set ups, which I have. Does anyone know if Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to work a solution? Is there something I can do on my end to coax it into working?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen a video track begins, the iTunes window comes up, even if I've got iTunes hidden. (Note: it doesn't bring the iTunes application to the foreground; it just shows the iTunes window behind my current window.)
Clearly, this is not the behavior I want when it's _hidden_! ...But I can't find any way to stop this behavior
P.S. This is iTunes version 10.6.1(7) on OS 10.7.4. Also, I'm running SizzlingKeys 3.3.5, if that matters (there doesn't seem to be a preference in this app to control window behavior...).

For the record, I had a DVD, converted the vob files to one big .dv file with MPEG Streamclip, imported that into FCP, cut up the video into pieces and synced video audio to cd audio of the same source, did Export to Quicktime, imported them into iMovie, added titles, then uploaded to YouTube.
I just got my new MacBook Pro and am already having annoying issues. For some reason, Safari fails to show video in web pages. For instance, videos from apple (any of them, including trailers). I get the controls and audio - but instead of video, just a blank screen. I'm using Snow Leopard. Looks like a problem with quicktime. I can see youtube videos, for instance. In Firefox, it asks me to download a plug-in to see the videos, but it can't find any.

I used to have a little app that had an icon in the menu bar showing what graphics mode was being used while on battery/charger. I swear I can't remember the name of the app. It was useful for making certain that the right graphics mode was being utilized (amongst other things).
It's not Battery Health - I can't recall it at all. I obviously didn't get it in the App Store because nothing like that is showing up in my purchases.

My early 2008 2.8GHz 8-core Mac Pro died last week. I tried all the usual stuff and ended up taking it to the local Apple store genius bar. They ran their diagnostics tool on it and did not find any problems so I had to leave it for a more thorough test. The Apple Store called a few days later and said it was either the main logic board and/or one or both CPU's. They -say- they replaced the main logic board and that did not fix it. They told me it would be ~$2800 USD plus labor to replace the the main logic board and both CPU's. So I took the machine over to another authorized Apple Service center for a second opinion. This other service center seemed confident they could determine which component(s) are defective. I am expecting a call from them on Tuesday of this week and hope to find out more then.
The symptoms are: When powering the machine I hear the startup sound and the display shows the apple logo. The machine boots for a little while (disk activity is heard) then the machine freezes for about 30 seconds then reboots or just freezes indefinitely. This happens with my 10.6.5 boot system, a second 10.6.x boot system on another internal drive as well as from the 10.6 SL DVD installer disc. Apple could not boot it off their network based systems either. Same symptoms on all startup disks tried so far...
So, I'd like to know where to go if I need to obtain parts and do the repair myself. I've built a number of PC's in the past and have no concerns about the undertaking. I just need to determine which parts I need. I'm not looking to "upgrade" the machine however if faster CPU's are available for a similar price I'd probably opt for the upgrade. At this point I'd be completely satisfied replacing the defective components with the same stuff that's in the machine now. Any pointers/links/tips/etc. would be most appreciated.
Just got from Best Buy where they told me that my 17month computer (logicboard) has to be replace. I;m trying to access my files other than the one shares thru my XP computer but with no luck.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes I will notice the audio is out of sync on my iTunes store bought videos. Rebooting the computer helps until the next time. This really started to become a problem over the last few months. This is a 15" MBP, 2009 bought in March, 4GB ram. Storage is on a 1TB WD drive in a LaCie 2 big tripple enclosure with firewire. No extra software installed and the computer is only used for iTunes and internet. Has all updates.

I've tried every tip on the web including, reducing the encoding quality & reducing the burn speed and de-install and re-install iDVD, but still manage to get the same message 'Encoding Video - There was an error during movie encoding' after having waited an hour for it to encode.I'm using iDVD '08 Vir.7.0.1 on a MacBook (10.5.8) with over 20GB of free space and 1GB of memory.The .avi file is 500mb in size.I've tried saving as a Video_TS folder rather than directly to a DVD, but still get the same error.

I was close to finishing this project and it plays in the viewer but making adjustments etc seems impossible. FCP is updated and I have restart the computer several times. I have used FCP for 3 years and have never had this problem.
