For some reason, I am having trouble uploading to tiny pic, image shack, photbucket etc! The % bar would appear on photobucket and just sit there and hang never uploading anything. Same goes for the other websites.
View 2 RepliesI'm new to Mac. When I try to upload pics to the net, I have a problem. On the site it has the little link that says "Choose file" or something like that. So I click it and try to click file location for the pic I want to use. The problem is my photos are in iPhoto and when I try to select file it stops at iPhoto. I cannot select a specific file within iPhoto. It stops at iPhoto and I cannot go any further.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy MacBook shuts down on random percentages when used on battery power. I can only use it for FIVE minutes before it shuts down. And as I said, it shuts down before the battery runs down to 0%.

When I plug my charger into my macbook pro it says "not charging" where the percentage is in the top right corner. The light on the bit that's plugged into the macbook pro goes green then orange. However the percentage of battery seems to be going up, but the little battery icon has the energy bolt sign and not the charging one.

For the last few days I've been worrying about my battery, I know it's silly and everything, but it's supposed to have 7 hours. It will go for a good 5 hours, sometimes more than that. But the percentage rate seems to be going down quite quickly. e.g half an hour ago it was at 73%, now at 62%. The battery time also changes quickly, from 6 hours 42, to 2hrs 32, back up to 4hours, etc. I have checked the condition on Coconut Battery and it's at 100%.

The "% idle" number jumps from 49% to 61% to 99% (but usually stays around 49%), when I'm actually 99% idle. The "% user" and "% system" just don't add up to "% idle." Does anyone else see this? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the RAM I just installed, or if this is a coincidence.

Activity Monitor shows the "% idle" number jumping anywhere from 49% to 99% (but usually stays around 49%), when I'm actually 99% idle. The "% user" and "% system" numbers are less than 1% when the computer is idle. They just don't add up to 100%. Does anyone else see this? The left top of the computer is hotter than any computer I have had before. This is the third computer that Apple has sent with this problem. Apple Care just says to send it back.

I am trying to paste chemical structures from Chemdraw into my slides, however each item I paste have different size. However, my chemical compounds are a specific size that I need to keep constant.Is there a way for me to alter the size of items i'd like to post by altering the percentages? Is there a way to get pictures that are part of the library on my iphone on to my macbook. I find it completely unbelievable that Apple has purposely made it impossible to be able to get 4 YEARS OF PICTURES off my Iphone and back onto my computer.Â

I have a much loved ibook G4 14" (late 2004??). It has just died. Well, in so much as it won't boot up. The ibook either gets as far as the apple grey screen and hangs, gets to the login screen and hangs, actually loads up finder etc and hangs or none of the above. Sometimes flashing red, blue green black.
After lots of research online over the past few days I tried the following: I have tried safe mode (not working), starting the command prompt screen (single user and verbose modes), started open firmware, and tried booting from a CD. Nothing works as the boot gets so far then hangs. I have flashed the PRam, resetted the NVRam, and have stopped short of opening up the case to dismantle it!
I just really want to access the hard drive now. I have tried Target disk mode and linked the ibook (pressing T) via firewire to a PowerPC G5, but the G5 doesn't recognise the ibook. System profiler on the G5 shows the target mode connected and working fine via firewire, just the icon for the ibook/target doesnt mount on the G5 desktop so I cant access it.Currently the boot freezes within a couple of minutes.I tried the hardware test CD that came with the ibook years ago, I have also tried booting from an OSX Panther CD. I'm assuming they would be bootable.
I forgot to mention that in linking with the G5 in target mode, a disk that I put in the ibook drive appeared on the G5 desktop as an external drive, therefore I wonder why i cannot see the actual ibook drive mounted. The CD drive works as it mounted on the G5.Does the ibook have an actual PRam battery that can be replaced? Maybe this is an issue?Am I able to actually remove the hard-drive and access it as an external drive somehow?
I had no idea it was so difficult to upload a simple MP3 to YouTube. How would I do this under OS X?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMessages keeps switching the conversation view from "Show Names and Pictures" to just "Show Pictures". This is in the menu under: View > Messages > Show Names and Pictures. I have to change it multiple times a day, including every time I open the app from a closed state.
This is very confusing in group iMessage conversations where all the iMessages are coming from the same grey silhouette icon. The issue is only happening on my Mac mini. It's not happening on my MacBook Air. Both are running Mavericks 10.9.3...So I keep changing the setting here, but it somehow just switches back to Show Pictures only:

Facebook says in its instructions for photo uploads that it doesn't support images altered by 3rd party SW, only original photos straight from the camera. We know this is BS; there's lots of photoshopped stuff in people's photo albums and personal thumbnails. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what it is that causes some stuff to be rejected. It is currently showing 1mb/sec uploading and I don't know what process is doing it. Is there an easy way to tell what program or process is uploading data through my network connection (it's wired, not wireless).
