who is used to using a PC and getting used to the Mac.Â
I'm trying to load a photo onto twitter and it asks me to select photo and then shows me the finder but where are the photos that I have stored in iPhoto? - I can't see them anywhere.Â
I then save the photo I want onto the desk top and this works but the file is too big and I can't work out how to save it as a web sized version.Â

First post and want to say this web site has already been great in answering questions. New Mac user (first 60 days) and had really been wishing that I bought the 1:1 service as the transition from a PC has been hard. Watched all of the iPhoto and Finder on line tutorials last couple of days then found this great site via Google. Wish I had found this about 45 days ago. I have done some searches and I am down to a few last questions / confirmations re: iPhoto. - IPhoto library / pictures in the library are not to be accessed using Finder... it is a finder, not a doer and that is how you end up with those pictures with and ! in them. Correct? I admit that I was thinking finder was like windows explorer and you could do things to photo files, copies, move them around, etc. - Go to many different Forum sites and I need to upload photos to those site. I can't seem to use the "browse for a file" function from these sites and see any of the photo files in the iPhoto library? From posts and a lot of trial and error is the best way to do is just to export the photos out of iPhoto library to a desk top folder? Seems like a work around. Am I missing something?............
View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to upload images onto the web from my macbook (10.6.2). It usually stops in the middle of the load, freezes with the rainbow wheel turning and either two things happen:
1. I have to force quite or
2. I get a messages stating a network error has occurred.
If they happen to work, I am getting lines on my pictures, almost like the whole thing didn't load or "skipped".
Here are a few examples:
I have tried everything. Cleaned my cache, run utilities, updated java, flash. I have tried every web browser out there. The computer did a clean sweep and told me everything is fine. Tried going from WiFi to ethernet, reset my browsers, nothing works except when I run the computer in Safe Mode. I don't get it. I have had a mac for over 10 years and I am stumped. I can run the computer in safe mode, but then a lot of my stuff doesn't work right.
Just a quick question for those that already use iPhoto 11. Does Apple now enable uploading higher res photos to Facebook? iPhoto 09 is stuck with less than VGA res photos when uploading to Facebook.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using iPhoto 08 (7.1.5). I just tried to upload a bunch of photos from a Canon Powershot camera. The previews showed up normally, I hit "import all," and they appeared to import normally. When it finished, it asked if I wanted to delete the originals on the camera, and I said yes. Then it gave me the "quit unexpectedly" message. When I reopened iPhoto, my new photos were not under Events, and "Last import" shows stuff I imported last week. But the photos were deleted from the camera. there's some way I can get the photos back! It did take the time to upload, so hopefully they're on my computer somewhere? I've uploaded photos with the same camera and version of iPhoto many times without problems--the only thing that's different is that this was more photos than I usually upload at once--about 150.

I am using Mac OS X version10.5.8. If I choose About Java Preferences it says I have Java 6 Standard Edition version 12.9.0. How to find the correct update.

I keep receiving this error when uploading a video on my website. At first I was trying to upload AVI files along aside actual photos on an album page and that didn't work so I deleted all of them. Now I'm trying to upload a .m4v file and still, nothing. I receive this error after a good long while of it trying to upload it. I have plenty of space on my file for the video and all of the other content for my page.

It has been fine up until the past couple days.I began to notice black flickering occurring on my screen.I rebooted and fine.Then today I noticed when uploading things online a strong flickering showed on the finder.So I tried System Preferences > Display and UNCHECK the setting for "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes".This worked on safari,but I went to open up a file in photoshop and the flickering occurred once more.I'm not sure if when dropped something occured or if just some kind of error.

When I try to upload or import files, the selection window appears for a quick moment, then disappears before I am able to make selection. I first noticed it when I was trying to upload a few photos on facebook, then it did it with flickr, then I wasn't able to import a file from Adobe After effects and it sometimes does it when I try to attach a photo in an email. I don't know what is going on but I am getting scared that I will never upload or import again.

I use to have a MacBook Pro (17" if that matters) with OSX 10.5 on it. Back in August '08 I bought a iMac (24") because I had to give the MacBook Back. When I set up the iMac I did the install that allows you to transfer your settings and files to your new computer before I erased everything on the MacBook.Some how I lost a bunch of Pictures I took and had on the MacBook. I just can't find them... i didn't have iPhoto on the MacBook but do on the iMac.
I thought I had lost the photos until one day I pointed the screen saver to my photo folder. Now I can see my photos in the screen saver slide show... but can not see them in iPhoto or in the Photo Folder.I have hope that they are somewhere on my computer but where and how can I get them into iPhoto?
Okay, I was working with iMovie and did something cool...but I don't know how I did it or how to repeat what I did.
I managed to make one "clip" which consists of 6 or 7 photos (imported from iPhoto)...and on top of (inside of?) that clip is the "far far away" title (the Star Wars one). I tried to do the same thing again, and couldn't figure out how I did it in the first place! Oops. Any clues would be great (I tried highlighting several pics and dragging them down to the timeline together...didn't work. I also tried a few other things, but no luck).

We know this is BS; there's lots of photoshopped stuff in people's photo albums and personal thumbnails. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what it is that causes some stuff to be rejected. It is currently showing 1mb/sec uploading and I don't know what process is doing it. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a video I want to upload to Youtube (made in iMovie 3.0.3). If I use Full Quality export on iMovie, the file is 1.34gb, which is out of the question. If I use the next best quality (CD rom), the video is 31mb, which looks okay on my computer, but it's frame rate was **** on Youtube. I'm not a video editor or anything, so iMovie's "Expert Export" options baffles me.
What should I do in the expert export to have file that's smaller than a gigabyte, but will upload good on Youtube?
ive had my macbookpro for about a year and a half at this point, and no real problems. i always upload photos from my canon digital SLR into iphoto, and today for some reason on one specific photo, the upload kept freezing. i rebooted, forced quit, etc. none of that worked. i deleted the photo and tried again- it only froze on the photo before the previous one. so i deleted the one after, thinking perhaps that was the problem. nope. so now im just short some pictures i actually liked and this thing is still freezing. ive read of options to upload to a folder then iphoto, but my camera does not show up as accessible hardware anywhere... so from what i can tell, i cant do that unless i go purchase card readers and the whole lot, but that seems ridiculous as this has worked for well over a year, and on my powerbook before this.
