OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: MacBook Pro Compatible With Easy Photo Print Pro Software?
Mar 24, 2012
I just recently bought a Macbook Pro, i7 intel computer. I have a Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II that I have been using just as a printer, however I'm wondering about being able to use the Easy Photo Print Pro software from Canon software so that I would be able download photos to my computer? If so, what supporting program or software do I need to install first from Apple? Can I use this Canon software so that I can use the Pixma as a scanner than upload to my computer so that I can edit my photos? I'm new at Apples and Scanners, so I'm not sure that this is possible.

I have an appointment to bring my iMac in tomorrow for service at an Apple store.I think all I need is for the inside of the front glass to be cleaned, and they told me I shouldn't need to leave it, but who knows. I just realized that I haven't ever brought any computer in for service in 20 years of owning them (I've been lucky, I guess).I want to do everything I can to protect my privacy.I've moved sensitive documents and information off both internal hard drives.I've emptied the trash.I've also cleared the history and cache on all three browsers I use.
I'm not going to go to the trouble to move all video files and pictures off my internal hard drives. It's way too much data. There is definitely stuff I consider private that I don't want others to look at, but I just can't see moving all of it.I'd love to password-protect the folders so nobody can get in them, but apparently that isn't possible (I don't want to go through creating encrypted disk images--again, way too much data). Is there anything else I should do to protect my privacy before I bring my computer in for service? Is there any easy way to password-protect folders and files? I went in Finder and locked one folder, but it still opens up with no problem, so that didn't help.I presume this is because I'm the only one who uses my computer and I don't require a password on startup.I also presume that such a password wouldn't prevent techs from looking at something if they were so inclined.
I'm not as worried about all of this as I would be if I were bringing the computer in to some independent servicer (instead of the Apple store where I'm bringing it).But I really don't like the idea that the techs will have access to everything on my hard drives while they are servicing my computer.

When I print multiple checks they print in the wrong sequence. If I have checks 401, 402 and 403 in the printer in that order, they print 403, 402 and 401. How can I change this to print not collated?

I switched a few months ago from a Windows XP machine to a Mac Air running Lion. I've searched for the answers to these questions but they are too general to search for here or in the App Store, so I'll try submitting a big question.Â
On my Windows XP laptop, I could insert my camera's SD card, quickly view each photo in a preview pane, rename it quickly in the same window and delete from the same window. This allows you to quickly go through many versions of the same photo, rename the one you want to keep and delete the rest. When finished, you only need to drop and drag the ones you want to keep into whatever folder you want.Â
There isn't an easy option with OSX, is there? I want to view and rename them while on the SD card, then transport them where I want. Loading into iPhoto is clunky and I'm losing track of where the different versions are. Opening them in Preview doesn't allow me to quickly and easily rename and delete them (though you can toggle back and forth and eventually do this).

I had to download software compatible with 10.7.4 in order to run a Canon iX6520 Printer, including Easy - PhotoPrint EX. It worked for a while, but now crashes every time I try to use it, just after clicking on "Print". How to correct this?

Does anyone know of a list of apps updated specifically for Snow Leopard? More specifically, there is a 64-bit version of iTunes for Windows; will Apple release a 64-bit version for Snow Leopard?

I'm trying to upgrade my aging iMac to be as compatible as possible, due to Diablo 3 requiring a minimum OS 10.6.8 to operate. My current specs as below:iMac Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz. 20 Inch. 4GB Ram. 320GB HDD. Nvidia 9400M Graphics Card..Currently running 10.5.8. As previously i tried to upgrade to Lion but it says my computer is unable to process installation, I am not sure if it's because i did not upgrade from Snow Leopard. Am trying to use this current mac as long as possible because i think Apple should be introducing a new generation of iMacs soon this year.

I'm by no means very tech savvy. When I tried to install Windows XP (Home Edition) on my Macbook Pro via bootcamp, I experienced a bit of trouble. I partitioned the hard drive as instructed, then inserted the Windows XP installation disk and hit continue. This is when the computer more or less took over and started doing it's own thing. After a while the screen went blue and the windows install prompts were flashing across the screen. At this point I'm still thinking all is good; I accepted the terms of use etc.
However, once the install was complete, it kept asking me to insert the Windows XP Home edition CD. Even though it was already in the disk drive. I tried to hit continue but it kept taking me back to the screen asking for the disk to be inserted. Eventually I quit out of the install (upon doing so the screen prompted me the install did not work), ejected the windows install cd, and restarted my computer back into osx. Is the newest version of osx, snow leopard, not compatible with microsoft xp? Do I need to purchase vista or windows 7 if I am to run boot camp successfully?

Much like (I bet) most of you, I used to use FLIQLO as my screensaver of choice. Unfortunately, after installing Snow Leopard, it stopped working! Today, I decided to create my own type of FLIQLO screensaver called "FlipClock." Here's a screenshot: Here's the download link: FlipClock Installation is simple. Open up System Preferences, go to Desktop & Screen Saver then drag the screensaver to the Preview pane. This will install it. Select it for use, and away you go.

I just installed Snow Leopard last week. I was trying to take photos in Photo Booth but got this message: You can't use this version of the application Photo Booth with this version of Mac OS X. I have version 2.0.2 of Photo Booth. I'm very untech and I have searched some forums. Do I need to upgrade to iLife 09 in order to use Photo Booth?

I'm a bit nervous about this - first time I have used the TimeMachine backup. It asked me to relaunch iPhoto from the backup, but I was worried I would lose recent stuff so I stopped. Â
I want to access a photo from giving 2010 - when I went to my current iPhoto library, one of the kids has been fooling around with the touch-up and given everyone panda eyes, so I want to find the original when it was first uploaded.Â

Any mac software which allows free international text (otherwise New Zealand,Australia,U.S,Europe,Canada,India,China) which is Snow Leopard compatible as well
I have seen couple of sites which allows free sms/text (up2 150 characters) in the internet, but haven't find any software which uses this technology. Few sites offer this service with the catch tht both sender and receiver needs to be registered with the internet service provider. Even a lot free voip call services are available but no sms services are available ? why cant they use voip technology for sms ?

Photo booth kept saying I could't open it because of the version I was in so I stumbled upon this fix. Drag photo booth off of your dock and you'll see the puff of smoke. Next, go to the macintosh HD and click applications. Then just drag photo booth from the list and put it onto your dock and it should work. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me.

I recently updated to Snow Leopard. The transition went very well except for one thing. When I try to open up Photo Booth, it says that it is not compatible with this version of Mac OS X (10.6.1). It also states that it is Photo Booth 2.0.3. Just to let you know, I do not have the backup CD's at the moment.

My photos are organized in folders according to the week they were taken, and I want to keep it that way. But if I want to pull up just the photos that have my friend Brian in them, how can I do that? First off iPhoto is NOT an option. I have used several versions of the iLife suite starting with Tiger, then moving on to Leopard and (currently) Snow Leopard. And the whole iLife suite is riddled with bugs to the point where I do not want to touch them as they are completely unreliable. DVD player crashes and freezes randomly, and falsely claims DVDs are damaged when they are brand new. Now I just use VLC, and my DVD movies play perfectly every time. Something I could almost never get DVD Player to do.
I have tried using iWeb, but after a few "undos" and some editing, my links no longer work, and files get dropped for no reason. I have tried tagging photos in iPhoto, and using one Smart Folder for each tagged category. It all works great for a while, but before long, newly tagged photos stop being added into the Smart Folders, and it defeats the whole purpose. Not to mention that iPhoto creates a huge file, and wastes time identifying faces, which is an undesirable feature I can't seem to turn off. I am guessing the whole problem with the iLife suit is that the library coding gets super easily corrupted if you make changes (and I am not even touching any of the files outside of iPhoto, iWeb, etc.) I can't even make aliases to the folders and organize them that way for viewing in screensaver, because Snow Leopard's screen saver can't open the photos in an alias folder. I'm NOT going to duplicate all my folders with different names and arrange them by category. That isn't organizing, that is duplicating, and completely wasting tons of file space. Is there any program available I can get to replace iPhoto so I can cross-reference my photos into multiple categories? And is there a screen saver program I can use to make my own screen savers that can pull files from aliases, or some other referencing system?Â
Is there a patch I can get so that the default screensaver will open photos from an alias in Snow Leopard, the way it always used to? Why is it so difficult to deal with what should be simple, basic programs and file organization? I love my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard, and I love the professional programs I run on it such as Adobe and Maya, but why is the first party software complete garbage? I know I don't sound like it at the moment, but I'm normally a polite person, I am just really frustrated right now. Just tired of banging my head trying to find ways to get around and outsmart the default programs on this OS, which has been futile, I might add.

I didn't know where to post this question. When I import photos from my Canon T3i and my iPhone4, the creation date of the photo is the date imported, not the date I took the photo. While in Finder, if I look at the photo information, the creation date is the date the photo was imported (for both the Canon and iPhone photos). I'm trying to understand why this is happening. When I import the photos into iPhoto, the date I took the photo is there. While that seems like the solution, it isn't since I don't import all photos into iPhoto. If I look at the photos on the memory card, the date is correct. The only time the creation date is not correct is when I import on to my iMac or MacBook. I'm using Snow Leopard and have no plans to upgrade to Lion.Â
