View 3 RepliesWanted to know if it was possible to save pictures in iPhoto to an external HD. Same question when using GarageBand/Logic. Is there a way to save the projects in the Ext HD so that they dont save on the MBP? Do I just drag em to the ext HD? I have a Seagate 320GB that I wanna use on my 17" MBP i5, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM.

I'm in the process of setting up an ebay store and the software I'm using to upload all of my images and listings needs my pictures in JPG format. My problem is that I've been saving the images from both my products websites and Google images and I've been creating the listing info for each product in word documents but all the images in the docs are in picture clipping format. How do I change them to JPG?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have about 25K pictures on my Aperture library and about 5K of them were converted from slides, scanned old pictures and taken on cameras that did not do dating. It was a lot of work but manually I gave proper (close) dates to each of the 5K pictures. I realize that I have time but with Aperture coming to an end and not knowing what kind of sorting the new Photo program will have I want to make sure that I save all my Pictures by Keynote, and and by Star rating, and also by year. If I just export each individual category mentioned will all my manual additions go with the individual jpeg so I can easily add them to whatever program might be worth using? I would hate to lose hundreds of hours worth of work.

I used a new USB flash drive this morning to transfer my pictures to. It showed it was transferring them then the screen went blue and nothing responded. I shut down the computer and unplugged everything but now when I turn the computer back on it shows my home screen and I can see the mouse icon moving around but I am unable to 'click" on any of my programs and get a response.Â

I know this is probably a basic question but I'm still getting the hang of things here. I have a jpg photo I received on an email. I dragged the file onto my desktop and now want to save it in my iPhoto 09 library. I've tried dragging it, importing it but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. When I place it into iPhoto it comes up as a new event. I drag that event into the existing event I want my photo stored in. It asks me if I want to merge events and I say Yes and the photo is now in my existing event along with about twenty others. Ok so far. But when I do a right click "show file" on my new photo it just lists that photo. When I do the same to any other photo in that event it shows all the photos.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have created a slideshow containing some photos of me and my fiance. Now I need to save this slideshow as a file. I tried to look at the settings and other places to figure it out but unfortunately couldn't do it.

When saving jpegs from email to iPhoto, how do I keep the titles with the image?

I use iPhoto 09 and Snow Leopard and I see the de-noise feature in the adjust button. I use this, and it shows the change, but when I click done and export, the change is not saved.
When I download an attachment from an email, for e.g. an excel file, it goes to my downloads folder. All is good. Now, I also noticed it goes to a folder username/library/mail downloads/ excel file. I was not aware of this. Is this by default? Is there a way to not have files download to this folder? I only say this because I download a lot of large files that I send to home from home. They are already in my downloads folder when I save them. I don't want them also in the mail downloads folder creating double space.
View 2 Replies View Related1 - I have a gmail account that I'm using MacMail for. I have 2 other email addresses that were already being forwarded to gmail. On gmail web browser, I had the setting such that if someone emailed to my Email #2, then when I reply, it would automatically go out from Email #2 (even if Email #1 is the gmail address). Is there a way to do this on the MacMail as well?? right now, all my outgoing messages are being sent from my gmail address
2 - When I am writing an email, it seems to save my email drafts along the way. So I have like 5 drafts (all from different stages) in addition to the final message that I send off. On MacMail, the incomplete drafts all get sent to trash. On gmail web browser, however, all 5 drafts show up as part of the email "thread"! The incomplete versions don't get sent to the recepient, right? Is there a way to turn this off?
I noticed that this box pops up everytime I go to close iPhoto and it's an extremely slow process. Each time I have closed iPhoto, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to "save this critical information." Before I upgraded to my new 27" iMac, it would never do this and iPhoto would close right away. Is this standard now? Why does it take so long to do its thing and close?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to save a file that somebody has attached to an email, I open the file - but I can only save a version (which I presume saves it back to the email). So I create a duplicate, and choose Save. In Save all I can see of my documents are the most recently used folders - and I can't see any subfolders. Frequently the folder that I want to save in isn't shown - and I can't find any way of revealing it. And if it is shown, I can't see any of the sub folders - so I have to go through the performance of saving it in one place and then opening the folders in Finder and moving it around - a ridiculously long winded task.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I start to import my photos in to iPhoto it says there isn't enough space for it. I know that every picture I import in to iPhoto makes a copy for iPhoto, so...is there an easy way to delete photos I don't need anymore from iPhoto and from my hard drive in order to clear up space? I can't even find the folder where the iPhoto photos are.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used iPhoto to import pictures off of a camera instead of manually copying them to my Photo folder and then using iPhoto to get them from there. So, my question is, where did those pictures go? I'm hoping that they are stored in some folder somewhere (which I have been unable to find) and that they are NOT just part of the monstrous "iPhoto Library" file in the Photos folder where I can't actually get at them.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy photos are stored on an external hard drive, and we recently uploaded a new batch of photos. All of a sudden, we can only see those new photos. The iPhoto Library says it's 24GB so I know the other photos are still there.

Where did all of my pictures from iPhoto go? I can't find them on my Mac? How do I download my pictures from my iPhone? If I can't download pictures from my iPhone then Apple just killed part of the reason I have an iPhone in the first place. Fix it. I want my pictures back. I have no option to download photos from my iPhone to my Mac. Apple you should have given us a replacement program that just transferred everything over. Now what the heck do I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a album structure in iPhoto like this:
20090101 New Years Day Pics
20090704 4th Of July
20090829 1st Day Of School
20091225 Christmas Program etc. (This is just a sample. I have tons more pics than that.)
When I select all, then export so that I can read them on a pc or at a photo store, All of the pics are stuck in one directory. The album names are lost. I normally back up all of my year's photos to dvds, but to use them, iPhoto will be required in the future. I became concerned that if iPhoto isn't prevalent in 25 years when my grandchildren look at the photos, what will they do? So, what's the best way to keep my naming structure in place so that I can export to JPG's?
I have set up three different accounts on my iMac. My Account, Kids Account, and a Guest Account. I have a large collection of photos in the iPhoto program in My Account and I would like the Kids account to be able to see the photos. Is there a way that the Kids account can see the content of iPhoto in My account? I looked around and couldn't see any settings that would allow me to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my wife a digital frame as one of her Christmas presents and had high hopes of uploading a load of pictures via USB today. The software included with the frame (from Brookstone) has both PC and Mac apps. If I go into my users/*name*/Pictures folder, I don't see all the photos I would normally see in iPhoto'11.
