Sep 18, 2009I use iPhoto 09 and Snow Leopard and I see the de-noise feature in the adjust button. I use this, and it shows the change, but when I click done and export, the change is not saved.

Sep 13, 2009I am trying to edit a Video for a friend using imovie 09. Every time i exit and reopen imovie this happends it is not saving the edits i am doing to my project. This never happened before on leopard.

Nov 20, 2009I noticed that this box pops up everytime I go to close iPhoto and it's an extremely slow process. Each time I have closed iPhoto, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to "save this critical information." Before I upgraded to my new 27" iMac, it would never do this and iPhoto would close right away. Is this standard now? Why does it take so long to do its thing and close?

May 10, 2009I know this is probably a basic question but I'm still getting the hang of things here. I have a jpg photo I received on an email. I dragged the file onto my desktop and now want to save it in my iPhoto 09 library. I've tried dragging it, importing it but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. When I place it into iPhoto it comes up as a new event. I drag that event into the existing event I want my photo stored in. It asks me if I want to merge events and I say Yes and the photo is now in my existing event along with about twenty others. Ok so far. But when I do a right click "show file" on my new photo it just lists that photo. When I do the same to any other photo in that event it shows all the photos.

Dec 13, 2010Wanted to know if it was possible to save pictures in iPhoto to an external HD. Same question when using GarageBand/Logic. Is there a way to save the projects in the Ext HD so that they dont save on the MBP? Do I just drag em to the ext HD? I have a Seagate 320GB that I wanna use on my 17" MBP i5, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM.

Jun 4, 2010I have a 24" LED Cinema Display and I've been using Adobe Lightroom 2 to edit photos. I began to notice that many of my photos seemed slightly underexposed when I viewed them on my MacBook Pro and other computers. I then compared the same photo on both screens at the same time and realized that my LED screen was brighter than my MacBook Pro screen and this was the reason for the underexposures.
I love how bright the screen is most of the time but I want to use it to edit photos and it's just to bright to do that accurately.
ITunes :: Cannot Save Tag Edits / Files Reverting
Mar 31, 2012I have used iTunes to organize my media files for years and have never had any issues until recently. I'm currently using iTunes 10.6.1 (7) and have 98,000 music files (over 600 GB). My iTunes library is set to my local disk but the large majority of my media files are stored on an external hard drive. In iTunes, when I click on "Get Info" and attempt to change the tag info on a file stored on the external hard drive, it reverts back to the original track info as soon as the track is played and doesn't save any of the changes I made to the tag. However, if I change the tag info on a file stored on the local disk, the changes are saved with no problem. I am not interested in storing my iTunes library on my local disk and need to be able to edit the files on the external drive without having to move them back and forth.

OS X :: IPhoto Saving All Faces And Non Faces
Jul 21, 2010I just started using Faces in iPhoto - and I'm really happy about it. But I just tried opening iPhoto Library in the Pictures folder to see it's contents and what I see is, that iPhoto is saving an image of all faces - also those it thinks that is a face but has not been tagged. Is there anyway to get completely rid of this or just to not have it save images of non-faces?

Jan 30, 2009I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)

Feb 24, 2009I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:

Jan 27, 2009Thought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db
face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................
Applications :: Transferring IPhoto Library From Tiger To SL / IPhoto 5
Jan 27, 2010I am transferring info from an iBook G4 running Tiger to a MacBook running Snow Leopard. Everything is going well, except for my ability to transfer the iPhoto library. I have mounted the iBook to the MacBook via Firewire. When I transferred my iPhoto library from my MB to my new MBP, it was easy: all I had to do was drag over "iPhoto Library" from User>Pictures>iPhoto Library But it isn't set up the same way on the iBook: in User>Pictures, "iPhoto Library" is a folder instead of a small iPhoto icon (which you would need to right-click on to see its contents). When I copied the contents of the folder into "iPhoto Library" on the new MacBook, it didn't maintain all of the organization (eg. the albums). Is there any way to do this so that iPhoto will keep the organization of the photo library on the new MacBook, or am I destined to reorganize my thousands of photos into albums again? Please keep in mind that the MacBook is being set up as a new computer, and I am copying over the files/docs/music/photos that she wants to keep from the iBook. I am not using Migration Assistant.

Jan 25, 2008I'm on a new MacBook Pro at work - came with OS X.4 and an upgrade install disc to Leopard... Safari 3 will NOT save any of my passwords. I continually choose "yes" every time I visit the sites that I want to use this feature for (i.e. project management panel at work), but no luck. Well, not EXACTLY true, on a (very) RARE occasion - Safari will save a username, but still NOT the accompanying password. I've found 2 threads on this same issue on Apple's Support Knowledgebase, there's still no solution from them on this: [URL]
Is anyone else out there having this issue? If so, I'm urging you to post on the thread so Apple will resolve this. I'm in the web design biz, so I am frequenty visiting sites that require login credentials. I'd switch to another browser, but, well - no I won't. I love Safari too much. Applications :: Safari Not Saving Cookies
Jan 25, 2009I had a trial for MobileMe for a while, and recently I stopped the trial as it was coming to its end. Once it was cancelled, I started to notice that cookies weren't saving anymore within Safari, and I've tried everything to re-enable them. It's crap because every-time I go to a site (such as these forums) I've gotta enter my login info. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I think it's still looking for the cloud bookmarks, and yes, I have gone into the system prefs and removed my mobileme info, and I've also made sure that in the Safari prefs that the option "sync bookmarks with mobileme" is also unchecked, yet my cookies aren't saving or anything. Not sure if it's related to mobile me though.

Oct 28, 2009I recently bought a Macbook Pro (and loving it) with iWork 09 pre-installed. I really like using numbers compared to office. However, I have just started working in a group where all the other members use Windows with Office 2007. I have been able to save my numbers (and pages) documents as the office equivalent. My problem lies when I am working on a document in numbers that is the office format. I like to continuously save my progress but whenever i press save, I have to save it as a whole new document or replace the existing one. When I used to work in office 2007 I used to just press save every now and then and it would save my changes. Am I doing something wrong or is it because I am working on an excel spreadsheet in numbers (word document in pages)?

May 2, 2009I have all my music on my external Hard Drive and I direct iTunes to that.Consequently I can only listen to music when the external HD is on, which is fine. So here's my Question. If/When I drop new music into iTunes while the external HD on, how can I be sure it's copying to the external HD? I just dropped some new music into iTunes, and then when into the iTunes folder in the external HD, and it doesn't seem to be there. Do I have to set something up in iTunes Preferences? (cause I can't seem to find it!)
