I have owned and worked on Apple computers for many years and never had any issues with any type of viruses or pop-ups and now I do. I cannot think of anything I did but now anytime I open a new Tab or do something on a web page new tabs immediately open.URL....Also, when I open other sites like Snapfish I get these pop-ups on the top and bottom of the website.
Just updated my OS to OSX10.9.3 and my Safari browser to 7.0.4 and now I can't run iTunes! Keep getting notice that it needs 64 bit to run and to uncheck the 32 bit box. Problem is, the 32 bit box is not checked. Never had problem with older system. What can I do to be able to play iTunes?
I am not sure why my Safari browser goes blank and I have no idea why. I was working before but it now only shows "Blank page" after I upgraded a new version of Safari about 3 months ago.
Using a PC clone, Windows 7--64 bit operating system. Just downloaded Safari 5.0 and installed it. Now whenever I open a page that has any financial numerals in it (dollars, cents) everything shows up converted into Euros! How to switch display back to American currency?
Info: PC desktop clone, Windows 7, 64 bit encryption being used
whenever I search something in Google, the results will come up, and then about 2 seconds later, other random text and links will appear. The most annoying part though is that whenever I click on ANYTHING, whether it be a link or a field to fill in, it takes me to various "mac cleaner" websites. I haven't downloaded any of those sites, yet it's started happening in the last day and appears to be getting worse. There are also random ads appearing on every website I go to, that never appeared before. For example, at the google home page, there are now random ads all over the bottom of it.
I have tried to manage my cookies and pop ups, I've deleted chrome and reinstalled it again, I have restarted my computer, nothing seems to be working! I've tried all three of my web browsers - safari, chrome and firefox, and they all do the same thing.
I have cookies blocked and pop ups blocked, but am still getting bombarded with pop ups, especially that most annoying mackeeper. How do I stop the insanity?
my macbook air keeps getting popups like mac keeper and a few other random popups and every time i click on something in safari it pops up ? what do i do ? how do i stop this my pop up blocker is on ?
About month or two ago, I started getting excessive ads on my computer. Scams, Microsoft stuff, Adobe Flash upgrades hat were obviously fake. The ads generally appeared on the pay, but evolved to gene ate separate tabs and windows. It gets really annoying when i can't click twice without getting a scam, or being redirected. I don't know if there are similar topics. i'm not going to look cause in the 5 minutes it took for me to write this, I've been redirected TWICE.
I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but for the past week or so, I've been getting weird popups when going to sites like nytimes.com, macrumors.com, cnet.com, google.com, and other perfectly safe sites that say something along the lines of "This site may harm your computer." And then when I click "Ignore" I get another popup that says are you sure, and I can't get out of the popup, and then I have to quit Safari.
I'm wondering if I have some kind of trojan or something like that. I'll get a screenshot next time it happens.
I have checked multiple support sites, and all indicate the same shortcut. I even tried "adding" the shortcut in the "Application Shortcuts" screen in Preferences.
I have my "block pop-up windows" checked in Safari 7.0.6 and yet I am still getting a lot of unwanted pop-up ads and am getting very frustrated each time I use my computer. If I deselect "Enable JavaScript and Allow plug-ins" as suggested from a May 29, 2014 post, I can't utilize my online banking.

So I am not sure what happened. But recently all of a sudden anytime I go to highlight something it does not show it being highlighted.
I recently removed the program sideeffects from my computer that puts color icons back in the finder as I thought that was the cause of the issue but it never went away.
Running latest OS and browsers.

I just replaced the hard drive in my iMac with a 3 tigabyte hard drive, so I have been updating all kinds of software, etc. Instead of Foxfire, I have been using Safari when I'm on the web. When I start a general search for information, my search engine changes from Google to Bing, and I'm not sure what setting I need to keep Google from being replaced by Bing?
I'm on my first mac, bought last week. I'm using the new Safari 4 browser and its slow. Anyone else notice this? I'm an old firefox user but dont want to go back because I like the mouse pad gestures in safari.
