I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but for the past week or so, I've been getting weird popups when going to sites like nytimes.com, macrumors.com, cnet.com, google.com, and other perfectly safe sites that say something along the lines of "This site may harm your computer." And then when I click "Ignore" I get another popup that says are you sure, and I can't get out of the popup, and then I have to quit Safari.
I'm wondering if I have some kind of trojan or something like that. I'll get a screenshot next time it happens.
Why can I still get Google cookies even when when I have "Always block cookies" checked? I can close Safair, then reopen it without even entering any site and Google will stick their *#@*&@ cookies and cache files in my Website data file?
The "tons" of cache files that I don't even go to the site keep cluttering up the website data file also.
If I don't shut down Safari before unchecking "always" and returning to "from 3rd parties" sites that were visited will have their cookies appear, even though don't have that site page open.
The iOS Safari seems to be better at preventing cookies and cache files from accumulating.

All of sudden OpenDNS started blocking certain sites. I never signed up with them.I live alone so no one could have done it for me.I cleared cache, reset safari, added DNS servers 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220I even joined OpenDNS and found to I had no preferences.
I thought I was updating my software yesterday on the iMac , but instead I'm now getting loads of tabs opening for random sites. Pop ups are blocked and i tried resetting safari. I've also tried to reset in time machine to an earlier date.

I have a macbook air that I just bought last year and I think I have malware. I have popups whenever I click on ANYTHING in any browser that I have tried. The most common popup is this mackeeper page. I've tried to follow to uninstall instructions but I can't even find that I have ever installed it in my applications or downloads or anywhere. I have tried to delete almost everything on my laptop and everything I have ever downloaded.

I seem to have a bit of an issue on my MacBook Pro with pop-ups. I use Google Chrome and I thought this was a Chrome issue. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it, but when I used Safari to re-install, I had pop-ups come up on Safari, so it isn't a Chrome issue.
I am unsure if this is a Java plug-in issue or what, but I'm getting pop-ups everywhere and I do work quite a lot on my MacBook. I keep getting pop-ups such as MacKeeper, Purifier, EuroMillionaire, etc. I noticed I had MacKeeper and removed it. I will admit, I was working rapidly on Friday afternoon and I think I may have disabled Java or something. I am not sure how to go to the settings and adjust this.
How I can erase this. I've had this MacBook since late 2008 and haven't had this issue. I am on OS X 10.9.5 if that matters.
I have a mac book pro, and Mackeeper was downloaded on it somehow. Now every time I open Safari, or a new tab in it, there is a pop-up (even though I've blocked pop-ups). Im pretty sure I've deleted the program, although why am I still getting these pop-ups??
Once i installed the latest safari update and the computer restarted, my date settings were changed to December 31, 2000. Also, random programs popped up, asking if i should allow or deny them. As well, i was disconnected from the internet. I'm not quite sure what has caused this.
my macbook air keeps getting popups like mac keeper and a few other random popups and every time i click on something in safari it pops up ? what do i do ? how do i stop this my pop up blocker is on ?
I have owned and worked on Apple computers for many years and never had any issues with any type of viruses or pop-ups and now I do. I cannot think of anything I did but now anytime I open a new Tab or do something on a web page new tabs immediately open.URL....Also, when I open other sites like Snapfish I get these pop-ups on the top and bottom of the website.
whenever I'm using safari, i keep getting a pop-up for MacKeeper, i have my pop-ups blocked in my settings but still continuously get this popping up, how can i stop this from happening?
My cursor is poping up with inappropriate dialog boxes containing things like Facebook, Groupon, Apple computer, Google and other company names, even some in chinese characters. Behaves the same as other popups when you linger over over an active point on a page - eg. 'insert table' and dissappears after a few seconds. Doesn't seem malicious but is extremely annoying and perplexing.
Thought I had a virus and installed Norton which found and removed a Trojon.Sasfis virus which I thought had fixed the problem but it has returned.
I think I got infected when downloading a torrent ap--now deleted, but the problem persists. Basically every time I click on anything (even on reputable sites, I get ridiculous popups and ads that should not be there. The internet tells me that my MacBook pro has been infected with malware.
I was trying to open spottify and the rainbow wheel began to turn, then it stpped and every stood still, Finder open aswell and I can't turn it off. I don't want to leave it on all night, until I call Apple Care tomorrow, since here in Switzerland it's almost midnight. How to shortcut the system to turn it off?
my friend has a mac and she said i should download google chrome and i did but i think there is a virus possibly.there are plenty of pop ups of something called "safe finder" when i first open google chrome and i want to get rid of the pop ups but i don't know how to get rid of them?
Every time I connect my iPhone 5s and download photos/videos from it via iPhoto, a "Blocked Plug-in" black window pops up that I'm not able to get rid of until I shut down my computer. I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash but that hasn't solved the problem. I'm on a MacBook Pro using OS X version 10.9.4.
I have recently discovered that on safari, on certain websites such as bbc.co.uk, there are words that are highlighted in green and underlined. Everytime i click on a 'green word' it takes me to some kind of pop-up style website that looks pretty dodgy. Also it happens on google chrome. My computer is running a tad slower, but nothing out of the ordinary. I fear something may have downloaded by accident via the internet.
