When I am sending an email and I click on my "from" drop down list, their are several addresses in there that were at one time, an alias for my .me account. I have deleted those from the accounts but they are still showing in my drop down list and I would like to get rid of them.

I have a mid 2011 iMac, OS X 10.9.4 and i recently installed maverick.
For some reason, using both Safari and Firefox, it can't connect to most websites and if it does the pages don't fully load( pictures and videos won't load) but my network works fine with other device like my phone and I'm still able to download updates. Ive tried restarting in safe mode, clearing caches, Safari without extensions.

Should I tick the box to enable Java script in my web content (in Safari Preferences)?
I was doing a search tonight and noticed that it bounced over to Google. I have Bing as my default search engine in my Safari preferences. As a test, I changed my default to Yahoo and the same thing happened. I closed out Safari and started it up again. When I entered some search criteria in the field, it showed the words "--Bing Search" just like before, but Google then took over. How can I fix this?

Recently completed the Maverick operating system update. Still getting used to new additions, however I did notice I'm unable to access the Safari preferences section.
I know normally, you would follow the drop down menu and click into the safari preferences. Unfortunately now the words in the drop down menu are a lighter grey and unable to click into he section.

In Mavericks, I get these annoying pop-ups every day that say “Updates Available”. In previous versions of the Mac OS there was an easy way to see what these updates are BEFORE installing, (sometimes I don't want an update).
How can I turn off this update pop-up? How can I find out what the update is prior to the installation?
How do manage multiple accounts on one lap top?
My wife and me have separate Apple ID's and one lap top at home. We have synced our data on the lap top and now face a situation where in her contacts are on my contact list on the phone and vice versa.
We use Outlook 2010 on our lap top.

From what I heard, Apple considers the user InputManagers directory to be a security risk. This is the mechanism by which plugins were installed for Safari.
View 3 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my email was hacked into which sent a spam email to all my contacts. I changed my password to that account, warned everyone in my contacts, and haven't had a problem with email since. However, I tried to do the 'delete all cookies' again and when I go to safari/preferences/privacy...there is nothing on that screen under that tab. Not even a question mark. I changed my history items to be removed every day from every week but don't think that would be the issue.

i watch tv through a website called tvunetworks which requires the installation of a video plugin, i have been using it for a while and have had no problems until today.Im not particularly tech savvy but had the bright idea of upgrading to snow leopard without doing any research and instantly, my plugins do not work any more.
I have tried reinstalling the plugin, but no matter what i do the player still shows up as a question mark and safari prompts me to install the plugin. I have also tried reverting safari to 32 bit but the browser just crashes when i load videos.
I'm working with Mavericks, iMovie 10.0.5 on OSX 10.9.4. I want to lower a small section of sound within a video clip without having to lower sound for the entire clip. I could do this in the previous iMovie version. How can I do this now?

Is it possible to move an item from the "More" section of the Contextual Menu up to the main section? In the attached screen shot you can see an item "Snag Path Unix" at the very bottom. I use this function about 100 times a day and it is very inconvenient that I have to go through a submenu for that.

but I can open the same websites under the same wifi network with my windows machine..
I've been trying to install RVM in my mac but I can't get to open [URL]... and even if I tried installing via terminal it still won't.. I can open the website fine in my windows machine under the same wifi network. I've been having this problem ever since mountain lion and now it has continued to mavericks.
I can't get my macbook air to connect to some website. Most are running fine but the few that dont work say that they cant connnect. I've cleared my cache and when I try to look them up on disk utility it comes up as "Request time out". The only solutions I've seen is to turn off IVP6 but I don't have that option, I can only switch it to local only and that still doesnt work. I've cleared my cache and restarted I dont know what else to do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have three computers on my home network; A dual 1.8 G5 with Leopard, a Macbook Pro with Leopard, and a Windows XP Box. My problem with Safari started about 3 months ago, when I tried accessing a website via my g5. Safari said it could not connect to the server. I assumed the site was down. However, I hopped on my MBP and the site worked fine. In fact, I found a lot of sites that my G5 didn't want to access that my MBP could, on the same network. I have flushed my DNS cache, reset safari, cleared safari's cache, reset my router, cable modem, checked the DNS servers. Everything seems identical between the MBP and the g5. The problem happens in both Safari and Firefox
View 12 Replies View RelatedMacBook hangs on certain websites (yahoo mail, cbs sports, mens fraternity) but only from one of my wireless networks. PC works flawlessly on this situation and macbook works flawlessly on my first wireless router so the problem is tied to the interaction between my Macbook and the second wireless router. I've searched the forums and tried many fixes already that have been posted here or elsewhere: Reset Safari (it then allows me to reach yahoo mail once, hangs on every try thereafter). Go to Safari preferences and uncheck the box for warning of fraudulent sites (no change) Go to advanced settings and input DNS numbers from my ISP (this solved the problem for some websites but not others) try firefox (same problem as safari) software update everything (no help) install onyx (about to do that). network is a DSL modem connected to the first wireless router (DLINK N+). Second wireless router is linksys G (the problem child) and it is hardwire connected to first wireless router.

On my personal account, Safari, FireFox, Opera, and the like cannot access [URL], [URL](or any variation that leads to the same site), any other Google-based websites, my school's online gradebook, nor will it allow me to log into my Yahoo! account, though i can still search on yahoo. I can use the Google search bar at the top of my safari window just fine, but not [URL], as mentioned before.
