OS X Mavericks :: Crashing Repeatedly On Eclipse

My Maverick is repeatedly crashing on eclipse process..I have IBM Notes installed with the latest Service Packs installed so I am not able to understand why are there so many crashes...I thought Mac was a better system that Windows...

I am having some serious issues with QT 7. It was originally working, then I added a number of new codecs/ plugins to the Library/Quicktime directory. These were taken from a friends mac whose QT7 was working fine. Then quicktime began not to work even after repairing disk permissions.I decided to totally remove QT 7 using AppCleaner, then repaired disk permissions again and reinstalled QT7.Now everytime I run QT7 it crashes after a second or so.I am fairly mac savvy and am capable of using terminal if needs be. I currently have about 8 iMacs in our lab on OS X 10.5.8 with all of their updates. When attempted to reach an SMB share on a Windows 2008 server by way of smb://10.x.x.x each mac starts to error. It reaches the server and asks for their login, but after the correct info is inputted the mac starts to act up. The apple menu disappears and so does every icon on the desktop. The finder navigator becomes inaccessible and you aren't really able to do anything until the computer is forced to shut down by holding down the power button. I turned on Activity Monitor and then tried to connect to a server and saw that the processes Finder and ReportCrash both appear and then disappear about every 15 seconds or less. Over and over again with no popup reporting the crash to the user.

Mac is running latest OSX Mavericks software.... But lately, my Mac is crashing repeatedly when I attempt to use iTunes or iBooks, both also the latest releases. Syncing with either iTunes or iBooks is nearly impossible. No disk repair or verification errors. I am thinking that there is some rogue software glitch that has me. I am thinking that I need to do a factory reset followed by a time machine data recovery.Â

Every time my iMac restarts or boots up, it brings me to the OS X installer page since last night.
I have done the disk utility check and my hard drive is ok. I then tried restoring from network which stops half way and reboot. I have also tried restoring from Time Machine but it has also stopped and rebooted several times.
My iMac is currently running OS 10.9.3
21.5-inch iMac With the following configuration:
2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive

I'm after some really nice speakers for my nice new Mac Pro and don't know what to get... Seen the Eclipse TD307PA II Speaker and Amplifier on the Apple site and they look great, price is a bit expensive but the wife has said "Yes!" ;O) I want some decent sound to either listen to music, possibly playback something I've created and watch a movie or two. I wouldn't call myself an sound enthusiast or anything, just want some decent quality.

However when I close it and open it again I get a JVM termination error. I think it has something to do with 'permissions' as when I run the disk utility and repair the permissions it reports that the JVM location permissions are fixed. It then lauches the first time, but not a second time?
FWIW, I'm running eclipse in a user/Applications folder and the user account permissions are for just a user.
So, I have a working eclipse install providing I run the disk repair utility each time before launching it, but it is a little tedious.

The lines are for some reason "pressed" together, looks like the line size is half of what it should be. I' ve spent pretty much time trying to fix this.

Since installing Mavericks I have found that lots of basic tasks have become a bit difficult.Â
One such frustrating example of this is whenever I go to empty my trash folder in Mail it crashes. If I select it through the menu (ie. <Mailbox> <Erase Deleted Items> <In All Accounts>) it works fine but I like to do a quick check before emptying the trash and that seems to cause my Mac to implode into a processing black-hole of burning lava (it gets hot until I <Force Quit>).Â

I have a Gmail and Exchange accounts set up in the Mail app,...The Gmail account is working fine, but suddenly today (with no setting changes or updates) when I select certain messages in the exchange account, it crashes Mail with the below trace. It only happens on some message and not others. I can't find any distinction between the crashing messages and the ok ones. Note that I have already tried rebuilding mailboxes and even deleting the entire account and re-adding it. The problem persists and makes it impossible to use Mail as my Exchange client.

Up until about a month ago I never had a problem with my 2011 MB pro. Then it started randomly shutting down and not starting back up when I plugged anything into the usb slot. I looked online and found that the solution was to unplug the battery connecter to the motherboard and plug it back in. And it worked! I had to do that a couple times and the problem seemed to go away until yesterday. Â
It just randomly shut itself down without plugging anything into the usb slot so I opened it up and did it again. Once it turned back on it started acting funny...just a flashing globe on the grey screen. After awhile I finally got it to start up slowly into my actual system. It seemed fine for the most part but a few things were kinda funny. The screen would randomly dim itself all the way like I was manually doing it and trying to use the backlit keyboard buttons would also dim the screen all the way. Plus it was still rebooting into that globe which would take forever to start up to my desktop. I tried to use disc utilities to repair and check for errors but it wasn't finding any errors. Â
Finally I decided to back everything up and just do a fresh mavericks install. It ended up getting stuck on the install...which I believe is because I forgot to erase the disc first. So I rebooted to safe mode and erased it, then tried another install. When I came back to it an hour later all it was doing was booting to the apple logo and then shutting off and restarting. Attempting to boot into safe mode was bringing up some weird script in the upper left corner before it shut back down.Â
I should also note that if it froze and I had to do I hard shut down using the power button I had to unplug that battery connecter to be able to turn it back on. Finally I got the recovery mode and once again the scan turned up no errors so I decided to erase and reinstall again. Lo and behold it shut itself down halfway through the erase and now all I get is a flashing folder with a question mark....cant go into recovery or anything. Â

This is a weird one, just started this week. I'm on OS 10.9.5.Â
Whenever I click on the EDIT tab in the toolbar in *multiple* applications: InDesign, Photoshop, MS Word, iTunes, Chrome, the application crashes. Firefox doesn't seem to be effected.Â
The only activity immediately preceding the issue were 2 software updates to MEMORY CLEAN app which I've since deleted and to Pro Video Formats which I don't *think* I can un-install.Â

Preamble: My Quad 2.8 Mac Pro (Snow Leopard) repeatedly would not wake up from sleep. Apple Care had me reset the PRAM and maybe a couple of other things..(heck it was a couple of days ago...) and then they scheduled a repair tech to swap out the Radeon 2600 video card today. My question: If I want to have a back up video card on hand from now on, please advise model. Other than normal word processing, surfing, emailing,I only do basic photo editing with Photoshop Elements, and will be copying my 35 mm slide collection, so I don't need any that fancy, I imagine.

New version just downloaded and has crashed approx 8 to 10 times. So I reloaded the iTunes 10.6 , rebooted and experienced the same behavior. Trashed the new version, so now I have no iTunes. Don't see any opportunity to reload older version except by doing a total system reload (Snow Leopard). No, I don't have Time Machine, I had one of those crummy AirPorts with 500GB HD, but it died due to complete lack of cooling (another subject, sorry). What a totally crap design that was.
