I've got a brand new macbook pro 13inch and recently purchased two of the mini display port adapters to dvi.
Figured I would setup both my external monitors 1920x1080 and have 2 + 1 monitors for working.
Only once was I able to plug both of the monitors in and have them work. Every other time (100s) the laptop crashes.
I'm able to run one external monitor at a time, but not both.

I have a Mac Pro 4,1 with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120. It can't handle detail intensive graphic without slowing down and/or crashing programs. I need to upgrade. What should I get?

Why does my new (May 2014) iMac display flash purple once, quickly, during boot up?

I have had a MacBook Air since Jan 1, 2014. It's running OS X 10.9.3 with 1.3GHz i5 and 4GB and 250GB SSD that is about only about 40% full.
In the past few weeks, performance has slowed. Even when typing in simple text, I'll type 3-4 words before the display catches up. Often, a simple click to switch to a new application results in a spinning beach ball. During the last week, I've noticed that the system is getting hot, something I never noticed before. Today, I heard the fan running for the first time. Until now, I didn't even know it had a fan. I switched from Windows to a Mac primarily because I was sick of the continually declining performance of a Windows system. Now the Mac seems to have the same problem. Clearly something is wrong.
This is a weird one, just started this week. I'm on OS 10.9.5.
Whenever I click on the EDIT tab in the toolbar in *multiple* applications: InDesign, Photoshop, MS Word, iTunes, Chrome, the application crashes. Firefox doesn't seem to be effected.
The only activity immediately preceding the issue were 2 software updates to MEMORY CLEAN app which I've since deleted and to Pro Video Formats which I don't *think* I can un-install.

2 issues:"Permissions differ on “Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/Safari.help/Contents/Resources/inde x.html" should be lrwxr-xr-, they are rwxr-xr-rACLU found but not expected in 3places "private/var/root/library/preferences", "private/var/root/library" and "private/var/root"
Also when I restart it right after login, now the Apple ID Agent message ask the keychain password to make some changes? I have run the DU from an external HD if fixes it, but then am back to square one. Apparently and according to Apple: "Mac OS X: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore", but not true as I can't connect anymore and can't work as my MacBook Pro is **** slow...
when I went to enable root I needed to install for management content applications for my website and setting up myphpadmin?!? I've tried to fix it, but failed, the last thing I've done was to go on the recovery partition's utilities terminal to resetpassword as I know that it resets the ACL, home directory... But it's still running since 2 hours, well I think that one failed as well...
Recently, my iMac (Intel Core) started to slow down the longer I use it. Applications take ages to launch. Sometimes even opening a folder takes a long time. I have to force quit more and more times. I also have to literally pull out the plug when it just hangs. this is especially bad when it wakes up after I put it to sleep mode.
Is this a RAM issue? I'm running on 4GB RAM.
Does anyone have any tips to speed up an old iMac G4, 1ghz processor, 512mb of Ram and a hell of alot of applications and video files? (Running Tiger)The main problem is when i open video files and i have multiple numbers of programs open at once.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWell im concerned that my imac is slowing down and is taking to long to boot-up, because when i first got him the imac was a bit faster. So i was thinking i should ask you guys for your boot-up duration before i reinstall Mac OS X. My MBP is also slowing down, don't know if im doing anything wrong so would love to know how long others boot-up lasts.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a mid 2007 24" iMac. It has been slowing down recently.I'm not clear as to the problem.Might it be due to the fact that it is running the latest operating system, 10.7.2, bloated, with only 4G of memory?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed a slight slowing down in the responsive of my imac (surfing net / carrying out tasks). I have plenty of storage space and the only changes made recently are installing Citrix and MS office.

My parents have an older 20-inch white Intel iMac that has run great through the years. But about a week ago it just started spinning the CPU fans up to 3500-4000 RPMs and it won't bring them back down. Istat shows that the CPU temp is around 90 degrees and the computer remains cool to the touch.
So it isn't overheating. My parents keep it off most of the time because they don't want to ruin it, but they're planning on using it in their business they're trying to start up. We've done some web searches and nothing seems to fix it.
My imac is only 3 months old and has started slowing down, randomly playing music when connected to iTunes, spinning colour wheel takes she's to laid anything.

I just bought the latest and greatest 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display in mid-2014. Every once in awhile, my screen will go dark. When I hit the touch pad, the cursor will show up and will move, on a completely black background. At that point I panic and start depressing the touch pad, when that doesn't work, I try depressing the on/off key; which does not respond at first, but finally the screen returns to normal.? NOTE: My operating system is OSX 10.9.4.

I have a Mac Pro 2014 with two thunderbolt displays and an apple USB keyboard. Whenever I boot up the computer the keyboard doesn't seem to work at first. Often I get hung up on the log-in screen pushing keys to no effect until the bluetooth keyboard dialog comes up. Then after that sits fruitlessly looking for a non-existent keyboard for about 30sec the USB keyboard will start to work. In total I'd say this delays logging in by about a minute. During this whole time the USB mouse and Wacom tablet work. After logging in everything works fine.
Also this might be related, if the computer goes to sleep it can take several attempts to wake it up before I'll get a login screen.

Recently I purchased a brand new Mac Mini 2014 and sometimes I have this weird issue. Sometimes my mac has short freezes, i can't move cursor or type anything. when I reboot my issue is solved but I find it quite annoying that this is happening.
I googled this issue but didn't really find anything simular to my issue. It's like it running something very huge to process because if i move my mouse during the freeze it does move my mouse after the freeze.I monitored my memory but I haven't noticed anything strange (is it normal I only have 5-10% of my 8GB RAM left?)

I purchased a MacBook a couple of days ago and it has been fine. However, today I've realised that the back of it at the bottom is getting really hot, even when the charger is not plugged in. I am not using powerful apps either.Sometimes it can almost be too hot to touch for more than a couple of seconds. This happens on any surface, whether it's on my wooden desk or not.
The back getting hot also heats up the rest of the Mac to some extent. does it need seeing to and if so will I be charged?

So, I'm very happy with my New Macbook Pro 13" Late 2014.
But I've noticed that the bottom of the Macbook Pro gets quite hot when I charge it while still using it. (Noticed it while watching streams.)
It usually sits on my lap and I'm making sure the gaps on the bottom sides are free to keep the airflow going.
When I use it normally: not watching streams, not charging. The Macbook just gets a bit warm while sitting on my lap
