I've been having a weird issue for a few days, my computer is connected to the internet and I am able to login a messenger and use spotify and other programs that run through wifi but for some reason none of my internet browsers open any page.

My Late 09 MacBook Air has been working a treat, not a spot of bother. All of a sudden, about 5 minutes ago, I've gone to go online to download some research papers (I'm *trying* to write an essay) and it won't load anything. Not even my Twitter app. It is connected to the right network, which is working absolutely fine on every other device in the house (windows computers, iphone etc). I've turned it off and on twice, the way that us clueless folk do.. now I don't know what to do.

I recently had to uplug my modem and router. When I reconnected them here is what I am experiencing. My PC desktop computer found the network and is wokring fine, has internet access. My IMAC and IPAD can see the network but canot access the internet. I have reset the router and moden numerous times.

I haven't been able to send or receive iMessages on my Macbook Pro or my iPad. They do not receive any incoming messages or have the ability to send out any messages. Every time I try to send a message to a phone number REGISTERED WITH IMESSAGE, this error message pops up. Even though iMessage refuses to work on both my iPad and my Macbook, it has been working flawlessly on my iPhone. Every number that I try (and fail) to send an iMessage to on both my iPad and my Macbook, I have been successfully able to send a message to on my iPhone with no problem. Â
This is what gets me: I have signed in to my Mac and my iPad with several other Apple IDs and iMessage works FINE when there is another Apple ID involved. There is no problem when someone else signs in using their Apple ID. So far, the only thing that has been affected is iMessage. All other aspects of iCloud work great. FaceTime hasn't stopped working once, for example.Â
I have had two separate cases with Apple Support about this issue. I have brought all my machines to the apple store TWICE, and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong.Â

I'm using my old gaming mouse (Logitech MX518) and when I push one of the bottons above the thumb area (MOUSE 5 I believe) it does the minimization to where it shows all the pages open on the computer and all programs running.. I've gone in the mouse settings and I still cant fix it. Any help?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy imac is around 4 years old and has been running both windows bootcamp and os x snow leopard for at least 3 years without any problems. My default operating system is mac and when I tried to turn it on this morning it gets stuck on the white screen with the grey apple icon and the loading icon spinning. Also a bar appears below this that I have never seen before. Â I have tried opening the mac in recovery mode but it does not respond and goes to the same logo screen. Â
I have tried holding the 'D' key down while the mac comes on and doing the apple hardware test but once the window pops up it does not complete the probing and appears to freeze just before its completion. Â I have also tried booting in safemode but the script stops at these commands:
-launch tl: Please convert the following to launchd: etc/mach_init.d/dashboardadvisory.plist
-launch_msg(): socket is not connectedÂ
However, the windows bootcamp is working fine and I can access my mac files from there.Also worth mentioning is that it is not a grey screen that appears on start up it is just the normal apple icon screen. Â

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am starting a new thread. I was having connectivity to the internet issues earlier. I have an IPAD an IMAC and a PC. I had to unplug my router to move it. Now it seems that I can only get internet access on one device. Earlier in the day my PC internet worked and the IPAD and IMAC did not. After shutting down my PC the IMAC began to work. Is there a setting somewhere for multiple devices?

I must admit that this posting is a last resort. However, remarkably, on narrowing the problem it seems it has to do with an unknown default setting on my Mac OS X Leopard on both my MacBook and iMac.
This week I invested in two new Wireless-N routers - Belkin and D-Link - and both fail to perform. The problem manifests itself as follows:
- When my Apple is wirelessly connected to the router, it takes a very long time to pull up any website. And unless I am imagining things, it seems to first pause when the blue progress indicator reaches just beyond "[URL]" each time. It is slow loading beyond this initial pause as well.
- When I change my security from WPA2 to WEP to None, it makes no difference whatsoever.
- When my Apple is connected to the router via ethernet, it performs very well. Each website appears very quickly and as expected i.e. no wireless connection.
- Very surprisingly, when I am using Windows via Boot Camp on my iMac, it performs very well when *wirelessly* connected. This threw me a little. This is what led me to suspect there's a default configuration with my Mac OS X that is causing the problem.
- In light of the above point, I have not yet checked to see whether wireless frequency or channel affect the download speed.
- For 2.5 years I had been using a Netgear Wireless-G router without any problem.
Might anyone know what the problem is? Or at the very least how better to diagnose it?
I have windows xp sp3 and while playing my game, the internet keeps disconnecting about every 5 minutes. Then a bubble comes up and says, "Limited or no connectivity" and I have no internet. So I have to disconnect and connect again to get another 5 minutes before it does it again. The modem I have is this: Verizon GT704WG Wireless DSL Modem/Router To narrow the problem down I went to another house with another wireless and it worked without any problem there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am staying in an RV park and there is WIFI available. To connect to the WIFI you need to agree to a splash screen. The WIFI connects and I can access the internet. Safari can access web pages including iCloud to view and send mail.
The mail program can not send or receive mail through my iCloud account. When I bring up connection doctor it says it has an internet connection but can not connect to the servers. The iCloud account is online. This problem has occured with other park wifi connections.
If I logoff the parks wifi and connect to my iPhone hotspot the mail program works and can send and receive mail.Â

There's something wrong with the Wifi connectivity on my Macbook Pro. Every few minutes, I lose connection to the internet even though it says I'm still connected to my network. I have to turn Wi-Fi off and then on for it to start working again. It only works for a few minutes and sometimes hours, but then I have to turn Wi-Fi off and then on agian. It only happens on my MacBook.

I no longer use my Airport extreme. Since I first bought this machine I have had connectivity issues. At first thought it was BT & while initially it was I can now isolate the issues to this specific machine. I find that in the morning the connection has gone down & the only way to get it back is to restart everything. I can however get connected through all my other devices.Â

Running 10.9.3 and having an issues with gmail. Been running our business and personal gmail thru Apple mail for years and never had a issue. We have also just switch over to Comcast High Speed business for internet. The issue is this.....first thing in the morning start up the computer and open up mail. The app runs but no new mail comes in. I check my iphone and I'll have 6-7 new emails. I'll hit "Get Mail" a few times and still nothing happens. Now the strange part. If I send and email to anyone within 2-3 seconds I'll get all of my new emails. For the rest of the day its seems like mail is hanging up "Somewhere". The same thing is happening on 2-3 other macs in my company which are set up the same way.

However, my internet connection is fine, and iTunes is currently downloading a video podcast no problem, in fact I can see under Activity Monitor that it's downloading at 110KB/sec, which is blazing fast for where I live (Indonesia). I can also get email no problem. And the other weird thing, is that I can use Safari for Windows no problem on my Windows side (through Parallels), which I'm using right now.
I did recently update to Safari 4, but up to now I've had no problems. And the fact that I can't use Firefox either leads me to believe it's not just a Safari problem. The only thing I can think is my ISP has recently been updating their system, and I have had some issues recently connecting, but right now my internet connection is otherwise great. Does this have something to do with DNS servers or something? Why can I use Windows browsers on my Mac no problem (through Parallels on Windows XP) but not Apple browsers? I'm on OS 10.5.7 FYI.
For the past week or two my internet browsers (safari and firefox) have been acting very strange. They are both constantly freezing (spinning wheel), which I can live with, but the worst part is that they both seem to be losing their internet connection all the time. I don't use safari a lot, but I use firefox every day. If I completely close the program (so, Quit Firefox) and then open it again it works fine for a couple of pages but then it starts just loading forever without something actually happening. If I close it, again it's fine for a couple of pages. This all started happening after I downloaded Hotspot Shield and Freedur, both of which I uninstalled within an hour of installing. I can't find any residuals of these program. In Firefox my search history has also been almost completely deleted and for some reason the suggestions in Google and Youtube have been turned off. I don't have any extra add-ons or plug-ins.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that occasionally my IR sensor stops working, and no longer responds to changing the volume, skipping the track in iTunes, etc. It can be resolved by going into Security prefs, disabling and re-enabling the IR sensor. This is annoying, however, and I'm wondering if it's a known issue that might be fixed.
I noticed that when you disable and re-enable the IR sensor, the last few remote button pushes you made while it was broken come through in a burst.
I recently encountered a really strange problem on my PowerBook G4.
After downloading the new firefox update, all my web browsers (Safari & Firefox), display nearly all my sites in cyrillic (strangely and luckily enough, this isnt one of them)
Of course i checked my system settings and all is set in german (I'm german, so thats ok )
Anyone come across that problem? I dont want to format if theres another solution, obviiously....

Today, I've been having a lot of problems re: browsers loading pages. Sometimes, it'll load them partially/mostly, but images won't load. Other times, Safari/Chrome/Firefox will redirect me to Google. Still other times, the browser will say it can't reach the server.
I've tried restarting, repair permissions, and emptying the cache, and restarting the browsers many, many times. Usually one/some combination of these things will fix the problem temporarily, but it keeps coming back. Additionally, no matter how many times I repair permissions, problems crop up in System/Library/Java and System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework .
I've just redownloaded the Java Update 3 for 10.6, and I'm installing it now. I don't know if that'll fix it, but I'll update if it does. I'm running 10.6.5. The only thing I've noticed that changed before this problem started happening was my update to Safari 5.0.3. I have an aluminum iMac.

Guest account on my mac has NO issues so this must be User-related.
