View 12 RepliesAll of my browsers, Safari 4.05, Chrome 5.0.375 and Mailplane, freeze upon going to certain sites or when I check my mail. Like, when I go on Youtube, it would freeze on the huge banner ad, yet when I'm linked to a video and go to it, it doesn't freeze and the video plays back fine. Email doesn't work either, both GMail and Yahoo Mail. And it doesn't work on my mail application Mailplane. And sites like [URL] both freeze up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAll of my browsers keep freezing up after 5 minutes or so of use. The time amount is very random really. This is true for firefox, chrome, camino, and I think safari. After I quit I usually have to force quit and trying to reopen brings the "already open" error.I know to delete .parentlock to restart but they just freeze again. Not sure if it's my recent OS update or something else. All broswers are up to date.

This just started happening randomly as of an hour ago or so. I can't even open the YouTube webpage fully, open Hulu Desktop or watch a video on Hulu without my browsers instantly freezing and forcing me to Force Quit and restart them. Any idea on why this is happening? Obviously I can visit other websites fine.
View 3 Replies View Related1 - I have a Macbook (2.0ghz Late 2008/Early 2009 Uni-Body Aluminum). Whenever I go to my school and try to log into their wireless network, I can't, only on OSX though. Whenever I go to bootcamp and get on Windows 7, it connects perfectly. What it usually does, on both OS, is that it takes me to a login page, by "Cisco" or whatever and I type in our school wireless username and password; On Windows 7, it logs on and I browse. On Snow Leopard, when I click submit, it just reloads that same page and I can't browse. Any help?
2 - Safari and Firefox keep freezing on Snow Leopard, mainly Safari. It used to work perfectly, then a couple of months ago it started freezing after opening a new tab. It doesn't just freeze the browser, it freezes the whole Macbook. Any help with this? I have Apple Care, will they do anything about this?
I have some problems for my Imac. I don't know why when I open my browsers and some program keep crashing and freezing up.

The MacBook Air that I purchased a month ago, freezes up on me constantly. I've researched various forums, and some are stating that this could be due to the system overheating. I really do not believe this is the case with my MacBook Air, as I rarely use it. I only use it for traveling (I write for a living) and every time I use it, it freezes. It is not hot when it freezes.
I could be working on a document or just browsing the Internet and all of a sudden, the cursor and track pad stop working. Sometimes it's ok and when done, I close the lid, or put it in sleep mode. However, when I return to open the system, my track pad, cursor, everything freezes again! I literally have to shut it down with the power key (not even the apple/quit keys work) and reboot the system. Another flaw is that the darn thing will reboot, but I cannot log it (mouse / cursor still don't work). Therefore, it takes bout 4 reboots to engage it again.
I'm at my wits end. I've had this thing to the Apple Store twice and they always say "I've never heard of this happening" and after extensive troubleshooting, I walk away without any resolution. To say that they have never heard of this issue is astounding to me, because the more I research this issue on the Internet, I'm finding more and more complaints. I will also say that this is my SECOND MacAir in one month. I had the same issue with the first one I purchased (after only one week), and returned it to BestBuy for a brand new replacement. I thought it was a fluke. Guess again ... same issue with this one. After all these years, I decided to take the plunge and get an Apple, but I must admit, I feel completely burned. $1200.00 for a laptop and I can barely use it. I'm sick over the entire thing. I will never buy another Apple again.

Some friends of mine recently called me to see if I could fix their eMac that's constantly freezing up and being slow, and I told them I'd give it a shot. Before I go over there this afternoon to fix it, I just wanted to get some ideas on what could be causing this. Is it just that eMacs are too old?

The computer still crashes - again within minutes of the Finder launching. However, it behaves itself when I boot it into Windows, or if I do a Safe Boot. This is starting to drive me nuts. Here's the latest kernel panic

Recently my 13 inch MBP has been freezing a lot. It seems similar to the 1.7 firmware problem many are reporting, but from what I can tell from their posts the freezing only lasts 15-30 seconds then they can work again. On my computer the freezing does not stop and I am forced to hold the power button to shutdown every time. When I attempt to reboot the computer after that I have to reset the PRAM every time.
I am using a 3rd party hard drive that worked fine up until a little less than a week ago, and also worked fine in my old plastic white macbook. When I put the stock hard drive back in it seems to work fine, but I admittedly haven't used it as extensively and not all of my apps are installed, but most of my freezing occurs in safari as well sometimes itunes. If anyone knows how to downgrade firmware back to 1.6 I would try that as well, but I am not sure if that is possible.
After the last software update, Safari has been acting strange. It slowed down enormously (I keep on getting the colored beach ball) and it freezes many times for lots of seconds.

All I'm trying to do as add a few playlists to my iPad 2...When it's connected through either Wi-Fi or USB, while I'm trying to manage any of my iPads settings, iTunes completely freezes after EVERY mouse-click. Example:I click on my iPad in the iTunes sidebar ..."Spinning Beach-ball" for several seconds.I click on the "Music" tab at the top ..."Spinning Beach-ball" for another minute or two.I check one playlist ..."Spinning Beach-ball" for 5 minutes!!! (...not exaggerating.)I finally click "Sync" or "Apply" ...more "Spinning Beach-ball"!It finally starts to sync ..."Spinning Beach-ball" periodically every few minutes. In the end, the sync cancels itself before it's ever even put the new music on the device!!iTunes completely freezes and I have to force quit!!! As usual, I've tried everything I know how to do, short of witchcraft and bashing things with a large hammer!!! I've restarted both the iPad and computer, completely wiped and restored the iPad (at least twice since this issue arose), reinstalled iTunes, screamed at the top of my lungs, and rebuilt my iTunes library from scratch (which I can't do again for another 90 days, as I have iTunes Match activated). Also, this only seems to happen with my devices using my iTunes library. Using the exact same install of iTunes on the same user, I can open an alternate iTunes library (with a different music collection) and sync my sisters iPad and iPod with no problems. It's as if iTunes literally just hates me (or at least my taste in music)!!!  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3iOS 5.1iTunes 10.6.1
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the 2013 15 inch retina Macbook Pro and I have been having a problem with it lately. Whenever I use safari, my browser is freezing constantly. Its is only when I use safari, not any other applications, such as Microsoft word. Normally, I wouldn't consider this a big issue, but it gets worse. When I don't navigate on my computer and let it rest for a minute or so (while running safari and sometimes other applications) this screen pops up:
I have not dropped my computer, nor done anything to cause any damage to it.

Just recently i have found that both Firefox and Safari have been "not responding" when i have tried to view some pages... namely some pages on the bbc news site and the guardian site and also [URL] It appears they are pages with some form of embedded video on them. its rather infuriating. the pages begin to open then all i get is the spinning rainbow and all other firefox or safari pages hang too.
View 13 Replies View RelatedNeither Safari (v4) nor Firefox can connect to the internet. However, my internet connection is fine, and iTunes is currently downloading a video podcast no problem, in fact I can see under Activity Monitor that it's downloading at 110KB/sec, which is blazing fast for where I live (Indonesia). I can also get email no problem. And the other weird thing, is that I can use Safari for Windows no problem on my Windows side (through Parallels), which I'm using right now.
I did recently update to Safari 4, but up to now I've had no problems. And the fact that I can't use Firefox either leads me to believe it's not just a Safari problem. The only thing I can think is my ISP has recently been updating their system, and I have had some issues recently connecting, but right now my internet connection is otherwise great. Does this have something to do with DNS servers or something? Why can I use Windows browsers on my Mac no problem (through Parallels on Windows XP) but not Apple browsers? I'm on OS 10.5.7 FYI.
For the past week or two my internet browsers (safari and firefox) have been acting very strange. They are both constantly freezing (spinning wheel), which I can live with, but the worst part is that they both seem to be losing their internet connection all the time. I don't use safari a lot, but I use firefox every day. If I completely close the program (so, Quit Firefox) and then open it again it works fine for a couple of pages but then it starts just loading forever without something actually happening. If I close it, again it's fine for a couple of pages. This all started happening after I downloaded Hotspot Shield and Freedur, both of which I uninstalled within an hour of installing. I can't find any residuals of these program. In Firefox my search history has also been almost completely deleted and for some reason the suggestions in Google and Youtube have been turned off. I don't have any extra add-ons or plug-ins.

Of course i checked my system settings and all is set in german (I'm german, so thats ok )
Anyone come across that problem? I dont want to format if theres another solution, obviiously....
PS: heres n example of a part of a page:

Today, I've been having a lot of problems re: browsers loading pages. Sometimes, it'll load them partially/mostly, but images won't load. Other times, Safari/Chrome/Firefox will redirect me to Google. Still other times, the browser will say it can't reach the server.
I've tried restarting, repair permissions, and emptying the cache, and restarting the browsers many, many times. Usually one/some combination of these things will fix the problem temporarily, but it keeps coming back. Additionally, no matter how many times I repair permissions, problems crop up in System/Library/Java and System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework .
I've just redownloaded the Java Update 3 for 10.6, and I'm installing it now. I don't know if that'll fix it, but I'll update if it does. I'm running 10.6.5. The only thing I've noticed that changed before this problem started happening was my update to Safari 5.0.3. I have an aluminum iMac.
Rather than post my whole problem again, here is a link to another forum post I made and received no response:

Problem in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Camino. The only place there is not a problem is in Opera.
Guest account on my mac has NO issues so this must be User-related.
While searching the internet both firefox and chrome will start opening 20 to 30 tabs of the same page. It also opens a tab of any link you scroll your mouse over. Has anyone else came across this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo macrumors peeps, as the title reads, whenever i open a web browser and go to either espn or youtube or anything that flash associates itself with, the windows hangs or freezes and the beachball cursor comes up forcing me to force quit. I am currently using a Macbook 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.3 and Safari 4.0.5. Also i have restarted my macbook, updated it completely, tried reinstalling Adobe Flash Plug-in, done the disk utility repair disk (even though idk if i did it right) and i have been surfing the web for two days to find a solution.

getting network issues with Snow Leopard on their macbook air? I bought the family pack and installed it on my MBP and black Macbook but the macbook air has been acting weird since the upgrade. The internet constantly drops and the browser simply get stuck trying to find a connection, other apps that require internet are also not responding. Usually after a few quits and restarts of the application the internet would come back normal but then later it would drop again. I know its specific to the Air because I dont get issues with the Pro or regular Macbook running right next to the machine. I have tried deleting the WPA2 account and readding it but the problem still shows up frequently. Using the Eithernet USB adaptor doesnt help either
