Jun 17, 2014Was forced to reload my OS. Now I am unable to open several apps whether I am on the OS or safe mode. Example; I can click on contacts and nothing happens. I can open my apple mail but can not view the email nor click on it to open. I can not open terminal. I can not open software update.

Sep 3, 2014Last night I spent 8 hours downloading a game for my MacBook pro, which is running the latest version of Mavericks. I have the .dmg file on my desktop, but when I double click it nothing happens. I've been trying online for an hour to find a solution, but nothing's worked! The file is 4.4 gigs, but I've opened .dmg files much bigger than that, before.

Sep 7, 2014I am not able to open the apps on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.9.4, they just bounce. Activity Monitor gets so frozen I cannot find out what the hold up is. Screen freezes in some of the system preferences as well - Users, Parent Controls Accessibility. I do not have a disk, no disk drive to reinstall.

Nov 9, 2009I have macBookPro 15''. When i open my applications, they open separately.
for example, if i am using safari and decide to open itunes the two doesn't overlap. And i want them to overlap. its annoying when im on aim and skype and i have to click the icon every time when someone talks to me. But i can make the applications open overlapping "holding alt/option key and clicking the application at the same time". but this is really annoying.

Sep 7, 2014I am on a macbook pro, osx 10.9.2, safari 7.0.3.
When I try opening google, yahoo, facebook and etc, it keeps coming back with "safari cannot open pages because the sever where this pages located is not responding.". But i can open it with Google Chrome that installed in the same macbook.
Also the it doesn't allow iphoto to login facebook but it works fine with flickr.

Aug 31, 2014Since some couple of months, i can't open some folders on my macbook air and pro anymore. when I try to open some folders, than every icon disappears, and I am at the some place I was before. The folders exist, because when I try to open some files from the search bar, it works, but I can search the files into the folder!

I have done 'Repair Disk Permissions'.I have just downloaded the latest software update to 10.9.4. Still no good. When I 'Spotlight' 'Pages' it shows two : the one with the 'inkwell and pen' icon is v.4.3, located in iWork 09 folder in Applications the one with the 'paper page and pen' (the same as the one in my dock) is v.5.2...Is this significant ?

OS X Mavericks :: Can't Open Users And Groups Using 10.9.3
Jun 27, 2014I am trying to edit my login items as apparently from what I have been told that is the only way to get my Belkin n52te speed pad to work with OS X Mavericks, however when I click on Users&Groups in System Preferences I just keep getting "Preferences error: Could not load Users and Groups preference pane" I have tried rebooting, I have tried going into terminal and showing hidden files to see if there is a corrupted duplicate of the system preferences file.
None of the fixes I have found by Googling the issue to find posts about it have worked. As I said in the beginning I have a belkin n52te speed pad that I cannot change the keybindings for because Mavericks will not recognize the device as being plugged in. When I run the keybind editor program and from what I was able to find about that issue online it has to do with editing the login items to include a file from the installer and then rebooting and trying again. I could just hook into my windows PC since that actually works but its difficult to have to unplug the pad and hook it into my windows PC anytime I need to make any changes to the keymaps, so getting my mac to work.
