I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertently recently. It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP. I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see every time I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box. I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!). Or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).
I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all. I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send. I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have. I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

I am switching from a macbook to a windows laptop, and I want to put my existing email folders on it. I exported the folders from my mac, and I have all the .mbox files. How can I put these into my windows mail app in windows 8.1?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo you guys think that Apple would release a firmware update for the Mini Display port so that it can send both Audio and Video through a single cable on a late 2009 13" MBP?
They have done it on the New MBP but yeah it sucks to connect/carry 2 cables all the time on my MBP I bought in Oct 2009
I have some Speakers with a 3.5" end. I hopefully plan to get a MacBook Pro. FREEDOM!... 'till I want to listen to my music, is there something I can connect to my Speakers and Mac so I can listen to the Music from wherever I am (I'm thinking around my room really).
Come on MOSX Forum!
Before Mavericks, I used to be able to send any files or pictures or videos on imessage from my laptop to someone's phone who also had imessage. Ever since I've got Mavericks, I am no longer able to send any files. I try to send a file but then imessage just freezes, and it doesn't respond at all. I have to force quit and restart imessage..

Their is no software availible on the apple side which isn't already installiert. I feel not comfortable to load a much older Software from the original CD or the HP Site.Â

Using Apple Mail on OS X 10.9. Â
My workplace is an Apple environment. Shortly after some of the iMacs were upgraded to 10.9 we've had some trouble with Mail. The main issue is Mail is not sending the attached image or file. On one of the iMacs that sends a lot of email with attachments, I removed the email account and added it back. After doing this this account is able to send attachments (how long this fix will last I don't know), however, a particular email we tried to send did not send the attached files. Â
After hearing about this issue I sent several test emails from this iMac and had mixed results. Sending just the attachments would work. Sending the attachments and text would only send the text. I have tried dragging the images from the Desktop into the message. I have used the attachment button and made sure Windows Friendly Attachments was checked.Â
I hand-typed a paragraph of the original email and sent it with the attachments and that email worked. I think it could be something with copy and pasting the text or some kind of formatting in the text. I copied the original message and pasted it in both Text Edit and Microsoft Word (and used Edit>Clear Formatting) and from there into a new Mail Message, attached the two files and it didn't send again.Â
One attachment is a .jpg another is a .pdf. The total size of both is 104kb (well within our sending limit). The body of the message is 3-4 paragraphs, maybe 100-200 words total. I don't think it is a size issue. Â
This could possibly be two issues, or just one: Mail just not sending attachments (even though it seems to have been corrected after removing the email account and adding it back), an issue with formatting that is somehow keeping Mail from sending attachments, or a mixture of both.Â
On a side note, I added the same email account to another computer using 10.7.5 and added the correct imap and smtp info and the same issues and results happen with this specific email. (Other than this one email issue in 10.7.5 the only complaints about emails not sending attachments is coming from 10.9 users)Â
I'm at a loss right now of what to try next. Since some of the iMacs have upgraded to 10.9, Apple Mail has been giving us some issues.Â

Sometimes as I send an email I won't find it in sent folder. It happens especially when I save a message in drafts before sending it or when I put addresses in cc or can.

-Used Data Rescue II to recover them.
-Data Rescue II gave me a bunch of .mbox files (1.88 gigs)
-When I import the mbox files into Mail - Mail crashes, and what does end up getting into Mail is illegible - encrypted or something.
-I tried importing fewer at a time but Mail still crashes.
I use a MacBook which is installed with Leopard and is running the latest version. After an email crash, I had to export a number of my folders to my desktop. Now that the problem has been resolved and I want to import those mbox folders back into my iMail (which is running my Gmail accounts) I am not able.
I use the File-Import function and follow the steps. It looks like it is working but after the import the files and the folder are not there.
I'm trying to record sound into I movie using an Mbox. I have it selectied in Sys prefs audio, yet the audio on the i-movie is clearly coming from the built in mic. I also have Mbox selected in the I movie mic tab.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded Outlook to Mac Mail software to convert all my emails into .mbox format. However when I try to import them, Apple Mail detects my Sent Items and Outbox, but not my Inbox. When I try to import Inbox alone from a folder, it shows 'no valid mbox files', but my Entourage is able to import all my .mbox folders. On a side note, the .mbox files actually shows as a Microsoft Entourage folder with the Entourage file type icon there. Is this why Apple Mail cannot import it?

I tried doing it with Entourage close as well and got the same issue. Does anyone know the proper way for me to move the .mbox file from the desktop to the external hard drive?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several local .mbox files created with the Apple Mail client from 10.6.8 saved "on my Mac" after doing a clean install of Yosemite I am having trouble getting them to import. One is ~5GB the other is ~2.5 GB. a smaller one (66MB) with 300 items fails to fully import (gets only ~170 items).Â
Is there a better way to force the new mail client to read these or is there another mail program that can read these? These are important emails.

I am trying to rip my Audio CD's onto my Mac, but I am not able to do that. These CD's were burnt by me when I had the OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. But when I insert these CD's into my Mac now, they say that it's a blank CD. I'd read an article on Cnet.com that you cannot read the CD's which were burnt in an older OS when you insert the CD when you upgraded to a new OS. They said that you can also try repeatedly inserting and ejecting the CD's.
