I have some Speakers with a 3.5" end. I hopefully plan to get a MacBook Pro. FREEDOM!... 'till I want to listen to my music, is there something I can connect to my Speakers and Mac so I can listen to the Music from wherever I am (I'm thinking around my room really).

i bought a macbook pro 15. I know it has an optical in/out for audio. At home i have a 5.1 speakers - precisely a philips MMS 260/00. I really don't have any idea about how i can connect my speakers on the macbook pro cause it has just 1 1 optical input/output and my speakers instead have 3 jacks (green, orange and black). what i need and how i can connect this speakers (with 3 jacks) on my mackbook pro?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) an Airport Extream Version 6.0 Airport Utility (600.92) That I use with two airport express stations, an Apple TV 2nd Generation with latest software up date. Also have Ipad 3rd Generation and two I phone 4's. Issue: After installing the latest Airport Utility software update I'm unable to connect to my remote speakers in iTunes. The speakers are visible in the pop up menu but iTunes times out when trying to connect. If I use remote to select Apple TV and then via Apple TV select my Computers Library I'm able to play music on the Apple TV / Home Speakers... but still not the Airport Express Stations.
When using remote on the iPhone or iPad the speakers are visible as well but I'm unable to select them... iTunes times out. I can steam music from that is on my iPhone or iPad to each individual speaker, but multiple speaker control is not available and the music from my library is not available. I believe the problem is in the Airplay feature of iTunes and I believe the problems arise when you install the latest version of Airport Utility. You can play on remote speakers, only one at a time, and only if you have the music on a stand alone device (iPhone or iPad)... in summary, bypass iTunes and you can be successful... marginally successful.
I have Iphone 5 (IOS 7.0.4) and MacBook Pro running OS X, Mountain Lion, Version 10.8.5. I want my iPhone SMSs to be sent and received through my computer because sometimes it is difficult to run an SMS chat with tiny keyboard of iPhone instead better doing it with my computer keyboard. I opened my computer's Messages/ Preferences/Accounts, tried a lot to configure my phone number and build the bridge to send and receive SMSs from my computer instead of iPhone, but unfortunately couldn't find the proper steps to do it.

I recieved an update from Apple today - it took for ever to install and then noticed that my mac outlook was sending e-mail ok but not receiving. When I hit synch i can see that the message at the bottom right of the screen {This Folder is uo to date} but when it changes i can see in box downloading with a bar and 0/22 which i think means 22 messages are trying to download but cant?.

View 12 Replies View RelatedHey I just picked up the new AEBS and so far I'm liking it. I have istat menus installed and have the network activity showing and since connecting to my AEBS, I am constantly sending 0.1k/sec and receiving 0.3k/sec. Anyone happen to know why? It's happening on my laptop and iMac so I'm sure it's supposed to happen but the OCD in me has to know why lol. Seems like the AEBS keeps sending out data to my modem too because the ethernet light on my modem never stops now.

Can we still use our mac.com/me.com email addresses after June without signing up to icloud. If one or more of the email only account holders update to Lion and icloud, can they transfer their emai accounts without the main account holder doing so. If we all have other apple devices ie iphone and ipads, and sign up to icloud, can we then use our mobile me mail addresses also on our OS Leopard macs.

Situation: no sound out from speakers in admin and user account and newly created account. Headphones work, startup chimes work on speakers.
Go to Sound in Preferences and only shows Digital Out for output. Should show Internal Speakers. Ran Diskwarrior and Applejack and zapped pram. Took mac apart and confirmed speakers wired correctly which is verified by the start up chimes being audible on the internal speakers. tested all accounts and created new account all with the same results. Did search of Google and MacRumor. Found one unaswered post indicating same problem. Had same problem with another macbook pro, ran same steps, take apart, confirm wiring setup, Diskwarriored, applejacked and zapped pram and it fixed the problem. I'm not sure what else to try. Did check Audio Midi Setup util and it also did not see the internal speakers.
Trying to figure out if something is up with mine and a buddies machine specifically or they are all buggered....
Please post if you have an audio pop or click type sound that is intermittent (every few minutes or couple hours) on your i5 or i7 machine while playing audio through external speakers.
If you have it, please describe your situation as it occurs so we can perhaps isolate it:
I.e. Plugged in / on battery, programs running, usb plugged in, etc.
Mine happens whether on battery or not, iTunes, games, movies, Locked in video card...
This may or may not be a stupid proposition, but here it goes: I have a Klipsch Promedia GMX 2.1a speaker system which I like very much. However, I was wondering if I could replace the existing satellite speakers with bookshelf speakers (like Klipsch RB-10 s). I'm hoping this will work because I want to increase the audio output of my system without spending money on an amplifier.

I have set up mail with my googlemail account my mobileme account and my yahoo accounts. all are set up as stp and I have set them up according to all the online help lines. I have had mail set up for many months now, and have been trying to fix this problem for a long time now off and on.
One thing that I have tried is changing the outgoing port number from the default to 587, but still no joy.
I recently updated my os on my iMac and now my mbox doesn't send audio even though i get a signal. why could this be?

I have an app for Windows which connects to my mobile phone via Bluetooth and allows me to send and receive SMS text messages via Windows, via the phone. It's by SmartData (http://www.smartdata.ch) and is called "Mobile Phone Suite" or "Easy Messaging" and comes bundled with some Logitech keyboards & mice.
Is there anything like this for Mac? SmartData say they make it for Mac but I can't find it anywhere. I've tried all the obvious channels like Logitech's support/downloads section, the SmartData website, Download.com etc etc to no avail.
I had audio coming out my external speakers.
Then I fiddled with both Soundflower and Audacity for some audio recording.
I have since then uninstalled both but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get audio coming out my external speakers again.
Everything is coming thru my imac speakers.
Apple>Sys Pref> Sound> give me no options to direct audio to external speakers.

I have noticed that I am having problems with the audio, there is no audio from the internal speakers at all and when ever I boot up in vista the audio jack has a red light coming out of it...This only occurs in bootcamp and if i go back to OSX the problem disappears
I have installed the latest driver from realtek and have tried to fiddle with the audio jack using cotton buds etc, but nothing seem to work... are there any other ways from rectifying this?
