OS X Mavericks :: Setup Wants To Make Changes Keeps Popping Up Stopping Installation From Starting

having trouble installing a trial of Adobe Premiere, every time i try to start the installation a security popup window appears saying: "Setup wants to make changes. type your password to allow this"..i enter my password, box goes away, then reappears.I'm definitely entering password correctly as it says i don't if i don't!
my account is Admin, have tried the other account on the mac, have tried creating a new account, tried numerous restarts, tried downloading a different trial.

I had properly installed maverick version on mac book pro early edition 2011. my computer is starting and stopping after 2-4 min. can't open or close any application, as soon as i do that, it shuts off.

When I try to run an installer/setup I get a popup window 'Setup wants to make changes. Type you password to allow this.'
I have an admin user account with full read/edit/write permissions.
Whenever I enter my username and password and hit the OK button the window reappears.
This happens with every type of setup/installer I try to run.Â

I have a used Macbook and would like to wipe the HD and re-install Snow Leopard to give as a gift. I would like the person receiving this computer to be able to start it up like a new computer and go through the start up with the music and having to enter names and password just like a new computer.Â
Is there any way i can do it (otherwise i will just erase the drive and give the disk with the computer for him to do himself)Â

So i'm thinking of getting a Mac Pro soon but what is kind of holding me off is that Bootcamp still doesn't offer 64-Bit Windows Xp installation & drivers support. I need to use Xp from time to time for certain tasks.It's really silly if you think that one wants to take use of the Ram & CPU and it's quite disappointing Apple has made no efforts in that regard.
Is there a way to manually setup a 64-Bit Xp installation fully working?

Having had major start up and software problems I decided to do a clean installation of Leopard, did backups and started the installation on my G5! Even though the OS X 10.5.1 DVD was tested prior to the installation to be in perfect condition, the installation quick somewhere down the line. After several attempts it finished and a restart was successful - everything seemed fine and I started with the software updates.
The requested restart never occurred and after 45 min of watching that little rotating ball with no action taking place inside the G5, a forced shut down stopped the process! Since then the setup assistant is all that comes up after start! Trying to start via the installation DVD (C-key during start) or safe boot or single user mode......works! I got a new OS X 10.5.1 installation DVD from a friend - no change! What I can do to at least get to the single user mode so I can clean out the fault from there?

how to make a boot camp installation with three partitions?
I mean one for mac, one for windows and one for data to be shared between the OS's? When I try to create 3 partitions on leopard installation, when I start the boot camp assistant, it doesn't work. Or when I create an extra partition inside windows, mac is not able to see it.

I have a PowerMac G4 I'd like to use as an "experimental" backup machine. I am looking to try and make a RAID setup in it, and I'm no expert with that. I'm wondering if this is even possible, first. I'm also wondering if I can do this with 2 40 gb drives and a 20 gb drive. I want to make it so it appears as 1 drive. I'd be using tiger and a software RAID if that is of any relevance.

I have a mid-2010 15 inch Macbook Pro. After putting it off for some time, I went to install the 10.9.3 update. However, after installing the update, the computer won't start! A progress bar appears under the Mac Logo during start-up, but it only gets about 1/5th of the way through, when the bar disappears and then the mac shuts down. I've attempted this at least 5 times and it always does the same thing. I held option during start-up to boot into the Recovery disk, and tried to repair the partition (I also have a bootcamp partition), but it said it was unable to repair.

I had my mac book hooked up to the tv via hdmi cable as I often do. After finishing using I closed the lid as usual and when I came to use it again I it wasn't responding and was a little warm. Â
When I rebooted manually I got the chime, the apple logo, the rotating grey wheel then a plain grey screen.Â
I've tried all the different resets, i.e cmd r, shift, cmd r p, cmd v, cmd s.Â
When I did a different safe mode start up with the black screen and white letter modes I could see a few errors but went sure what they meant and they disappeared and it went to a blue screen which is also what happens when I do cmd r.Â
I don't have lion. I have the latest osx upgrade from about 2 months ago (can't remember the name)

I attempted to increase the size of my bootcamp partition using Disk Utility and failed, only creating a second partition for my Macintosh HD. I deleted the second partition and attempted to re-allocate the space to the original Macintosh HD, but not only am I not able to do that but I can't boot back into Windows via Bootcamp. When holding the option key while starting I only get the options "Macintosh HD" and "Recovery". I do get the option to select Windows 7 as the startup disk under System Preferences, but while starting I get the error message "BOOTMGR Missing, Press any key to restart" and I my keyboard doesn't respond so I have to hold power to restart into OSX.Â
I have a Mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro, with a 2.53ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, running OSX 10.9.5.

On my Mom's iMac, while starting up with Mavericks 10.9.3 (2.7 GHz Intel Core i5), the usual apple first appears on the gray screen. Then, it flashes hot pink with pixelated edges before completing the startup.

My 2014 21" iMac powers itself down after about 10 seconds while trying to startup in safe boot mode. I'm not even sure why it is trying to start in safe boot mode. I shut it down after a power outage while plugged into an APS UPS. I'm guessing that since I interrupted the auto shutdown it is restarting in safe boot mode. Either way, I get a grey screen with a big apple and a progress bar. The progress bar gets to about a tenth full and the power just shuts off.Â
I've tried starting up while holding the alt key to select the Macintosh HD. The same thing happens.

I am running Mavericks lastest update on mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I was installing Windows and following the directions provided in the Apple Support Communities the MacBook froze during the installation of Windows after I answered the prompt about the size of the partition........800 GhB for Mac and 200GhB for Windows 7. I now have a blank grey screen on the MacBook. I get the Apple boot-up when I press the Power up button but nothing happens.Â
How can I reboot and start the installation over?Â

After I installed maverick on my imac, my time machine backups don't work anymore!!!! I have a normal portable HDD attached to my Imac with time capsule backup from before mavericks was installed.I also has a Buffalo NAS as a second Time Machine Backup. Â
Time capsule does not recognise my Buffalo NAS and tells me that it is not available. It has previous backups from Mountain Lion for sure!My portable HDD keeps saying "Preparing for backup" for eternity. I can connect to my portable HDD and Buffalo NAS as a drive.  What I have been doing is to copy and paste the important stuff into the drives. But it really defeats the purpose of time machine.

Downloading took less than 30 minutes on my high speed connection.
After reinstalling Maverics is installing saying 'Time remaining: About 120 hours and 17 minutes'
i don't want to spend 120 hours!!!

I can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes. I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell. My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).

I just installed the brand new OS X 10.10 Yosemite beta 2 on a USB thumb drive. It almost works.Â
Now I want to boot my good old OS X 10.9 Mavericks from the SSD.
But there is no option for that, if I reboot the macbook holding the opt key!Â
I see only "Install OS", "Recover 10.9" and "OS X Yosemite", if I plug in the thumb drive.Â
But if I boot the OS X 10.10 beta 2 from the thumb drive, I can browser my SSD "Macintosh HD", see all the folders and files, it's still there!Â
If I choose "Recover 10.9", it says, I can re-install the OS X or recover my Mac from the time machine or ask for online support, what I'm actually doing.Â
How can I make the SSD bootable again, without re-installing the OS X and losing my data? Yes, there is still an option to restore from the time machine, but it's too long, I need my computer now.Â
It's a rMBP 15" early 2013.Â
