Mac Pro :: Way To Manually Setup 64-Bit Xp Installation Fully Working?

So i'm thinking of getting a Mac Pro soon but what is kind of holding me off is that Bootcamp still doesn't offer 64-Bit Windows Xp installation & drivers support. I need to use Xp from time to time for certain tasks.It's really silly if you think that one wants to take use of the Ram & CPU and it's quite disappointing Apple has made no efforts in that regard.
Is there a way to manually setup a 64-Bit Xp installation fully working?
i have snowleapard and my computer isn't core 2 duo so cannot upgrade to lion, how can i manually get icloud mail set up by my safari i have went to the website but doesn't make since to me i tried imap and smtp and doesn't work help
I am trying to manually setup my email accounts using mail app on my imac. Mail wont find my exchange account automatically and I want to add them manually. How do I deselect 'Automatically set up mail'? I do not see this option when I click "add account'?

Ive had my macbook for ages now, updated to snowleopard a little while ago and now ive decided i want a password to enter to enter the comp. when its turned on.
Having had major start up and software problems I decided to do a clean installation of Leopard, did backups and started the installation on my G5! Even though the OS X 10.5.1 DVD was tested prior to the installation to be in perfect condition, the installation quick somewhere down the line. After several attempts it finished and a restart was successful - everything seemed fine and I started with the software updates.
The requested restart never occurred and after 45 min of watching that little rotating ball with no action taking place inside the G5, a forced shut down stopped the process! Since then the setup assistant is all that comes up after start! Trying to start via the installation DVD (C-key during start) or safe boot or single user mode......works! I got a new OS X 10.5.1 installation DVD from a friend - no change! What I can do to at least get to the single user mode so I can clean out the fault from there?
Anyway i have a macbook pro. I recently upgraded my router to a belkin. Ever since i upgraded sites like facebook are slow. Facebook still works but when i want to browse photos, the photos never load. It also will never let me upload pics.
It works perfectly on my pc. Also, when im on my mac and i connect to a different wireless network, it also works perfect. So it comes down to my mac and my network.
having trouble installing a trial of Adobe Premiere, every time i try to start the installation a security popup window appears saying: "Setup wants to make changes. type your password to allow this"..i enter my password, box goes away, then reappears.I'm definitely entering password correctly as it says i don't if i don't!
my account is Admin, have tried the other account on the mac, have tried creating a new account, tried numerous restarts, tried downloading a different trial.

Since the latest upgrade of 10.9.3 my and other office computers have problems with searches using spotlight and Finder search on internal, external and networked volumes. This is a big roadblock to our office workflow. Reindexing doesn't fix the issue and we can see clearly that the files we are searching for are there.
I finally upgraded from my 15" PowerBook 1.67 to the new 13" MacBook Pro 2.66. On the PowerBook I would usually run an external display using a single link DVI cable. I have read about the issues with the apple mini display adapters not working on DVI-I or non fully digital displays, but since I had been running the external via single link DVI (digital correct?) I figured that I wouldn't run into any problems. I did some troubleshooting with what I had and plugged my computer into my TV through the mini display adapter to a single link DVI to HDMI cable and all worked fine. Do you think that a dual link DVI cable could solve the problem connecting to my monitor? Or is my monitor flat out incabable? Third party adapter? Worst case I could just go VGA, though I don't want to. My monitor is a Sceptre x20.
After plugging in the Passport, it seems the drive was working w/out installation because I was able to drag and drop almost immediately. Now all that's left is the manuals and set up files still on it. Is it okay to go ahead and delete these?
I had a trial of Photoshop and I purchased it on disk. I arrived and I tried to install it, but the serial number wouldn't work. I called Adobe and they said it was because I had a trial. I tried to uninstall it, but it wouldn't work, so I drug everything to the trash. Now when I try to install Photoshop from the disk, I get this error: Critical errors were found in setup for Adobe Photoshop CS4: undefined The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media Please see the Setup log file for details. Click Quit to exit Setup.
Upgraded MacBook Pro to Yosemite and ever since I get repeated keychain prompts, even after entering my keychain password. I have not changed my password, so I need to know how to make this stop.Â
I got a new Macbook today, and installed the Mac OS X 10.5.6. It stalled so I shut down, and when I logged in again Finder and Spotlight doesn't work. Though my hard drive says is labelled Mac HD: Mac OS X 10.5.6 , I am continuously prompted that Spotlight closed unexpectedly. And when I try to reinstall the Mac OS X, the DVD no longer appears on the desktop and Finder too, cannot be opened for me to locate the DVD.
my new 2010 MBP just went to hell on me. All of a sudden all my factory installed software such as ical, dictionary, stickies, photobooth stopped working. They wont open in any way, either dock or applications. I've deleted plist, repaired disk permissions and repaired disk... nothing. Third party apps, safari and iphoto work. But iphoto froze when I open it. Apple wants me to reinstall the OS but I would like to avoid if possible.
Recently installed Snow Leopard. Mail not working. Tried to update Mail but Destination Selection portion said, "Mail Update can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
I have had my iPhoto library on a USB drive attached to Time Capsule for some time with no problems. I recently upgraded to iPhoto '09, and still had no problems, so not sure that's related. The library updated ok, and I played with Places and indexed some Faces over more than one session, no problems. Upgraded iPhoto on all the macs and tested their access to the library ok.
Suddenly now, none of the network macs can open the library. iPhoto launches with no pictures visible and has a spinning beechball. I have to Force Quit iPhoto. Same on all macs.
I then copied the library from the networked drive locally to a mac, and iPhoto could then open it perfectly ok. So I guess the library is not corrupt either.
Any ideas why this network setup would suddenly stop working?
I recently installed XP with bootcamp on my MacBook Pro. The big problem I'm having is that the internal speakers on my computer don't have sound coming out of them. (When I'm on windows) The volume control on my keyboard doesn't do anything, either. When I go to find my sound control, to make sure it's not muted or anything, I find that I can't even edit the sound controls. It says I don't have a device that can output sound, even though my internal speakers work fine on my mac desktop. It can't seem to find my internal speakers, when I try setting up a new device. I'm having a lot of trouble setting up internet on the XP as well, I just don't understand how to do it. (I've used mac all my life, I am really new to windows.) Basically, I have a wireless internet connection, I've got the router downstairs, and the information is handy. But I just don't know how to set it up, and I don't know what type of internet connection I want.
I have found that my hash key stroke should be either option + 3 or ctrl + 3. Neither are giving me a hash key stroke, so I can't setup trends on twitter! Not the end of the world, but slightly annoying none the less!Â
My brother is going to start school in June for Film. He is all set to buy a Mac and knows the software side of things but not so much the Hardware side.
I have a few questions:
1. Should extra hard drives be bought third party?
2. Should he do a raid setup for backups?
3. How much memory should he buy for Final Cut operations? (third party)
4. Should he look into getting a Dell monitor instead of Apple? What is a comparable Dell monitor?
I am trying to setup a firefighter's apple laptop into our linksys net at firestation. She got access fine when we did not have it secured but now we setup a wep key. All other members can get in by entering wep key when they choose the wireless router but when we input the wep key to apple laptop airport I think we get connection error. Key is definitely right. What changed in the apple setup other than the wep key, again when signal was unsecure laptop safari worked fine. The linksys is a B about 3 years old.
My new display has VGA and HDMI inputs. My MBP has DVI, so does it make a big difference between VGA setup and HDMI setup? Which setup should I go with?
I've got to setup/configure three new iPad2's on the mac that I have which is already associated with an iPad2. I know that there is a way to have iTunes not sync/backup a new iPad 2 as I've done it before, but I cannot remember how to do it.
I am trying to follow the following guide to do a triple boot, but I am stuck in Windows 7 installation triple boot snow leopard, windows 7, & ubuntu
I have done the following: 1. Did a clean installation of OS X Snow Leopard on hard drive (Not yet partitioned the hard drive)
2. Installed rEFIt I am not sure what the poster means by making sure it works by pressing the option button. I am assuming it means that I will be able to see the options I can choose when I press option? (I do see options to pick either "Hard Drive" or whatever disc in the DVD)
3. Partitioned 30 GB (or was it 40 GB? x.x I forgot sorry) space in Boot Camp Assistant for Windows installation. Chose the option to install Windows later.
4. Inserted OS X Snow Leopard installation disc and boot from there.
5. Opened up the Disk Utility and partitioned a hard drive (called Hard Drive_2) via the Partition section as instructed by the guide. Formatted in MAc OS Extended (Journaled)
So now, in that area I see "Hard Drive", "Hard Drive_2" and "BOOT CAMP" (so I am assuming that is what the poster meant by "3 partitions".
6. Restarted the computer with Windows installation disc.
Problems occur right here: Problem 1: I do not see anything called "C something" as the poster said. But I do see something called "Boot Camp"
Problem 2: All the partitions that are available says that "Windows 7 can't be installed". So my question is am I supposed to "delete" a specific partition to install it?
I have pictures of the screen which I will upload later if this isn't clear enough.
I'm getting a new internal HDD for my MBP soon, so I plan to sell my current Hitachi HDD if possible.
Now before I sell it I'd like to fully format it so that the person whom I sell the HDD to won't be able to retrieve my info. Is the Disk Utility format adequate? What other options do I have?
Also, if I use Disk Utility - which Format option should I choose?
Basically. I have my 15" saying that it is charged with the MagSafe light green. Although, the battery percentage is 96%. Ehh.. Is it supposed to be like that?
Like, not charge if it has only a little bit left to charge? Or is something wrong with my battery or MagSafe?
I've got a Mac Pro 2008, with 4 noisy hard drives in it.
I wonder if there is an easy way to manually spin down/up the unused harddrives when you feel for it? (That would be much easier that powering down the whole computer, and unplug the disks.
