After Installing Maverick on my Mac it seems that I have no mail folders anymore and I lost also all the mails that were stored. How do I get these back?
View 3 RepliesI was just looking at my emails in the mail app. One second all of my folders were there. The next second the ones I had made and sorted emails into were gone. I have very important emails in these which I really need to recover. I have a Time Capsule and Time Machine that backs up automatically but I have gone back a couple of backups and cannot find the missing folders.

Relatively new to Mac. In Mac Mail, I accidentally dragged some of the default mailboxes (Drafts) out of the Mailboxes Pane on the left up to the top bar and they disappeared without so much as a warning message to let me know! I can't seem to find a way to get them back or the mail that was in them.

well, they aren't lost, but everything is offline. i just want to restore my email settings! i have aw iMac no disc drive. tried to restart in recovery mode (control R) but nothing happened
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I expand the Sent folder in Mail (directly below inbox), all my email folders from my yahoo mail account are there plus Sent.I also have all the same folders listed below that under my email address including sent and sent messages. Some outgoing messages are in "Sent" folder and some in "Sent Messages" folder.Not sure how this happened but I can not delete the folders under sent. I am hesitant to delete the Sent folder.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Mail from my 15", late 2012, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 MBP running Maverick OSX 10.9.5 with 16 GB memory. I have 4 mail accounts with approximately 30 folders. Everything has worked fairly good the past year, with a bump here and there. Suddenly today nearly all mail in these folders has disappeared. There are a few folders that have retained all their mail, however the majority is gone. Is there a remedy or is it gone? Rebuild has done no good.

I bought a domain through Google a few years ago, the host was Enom until last month when I decided to switch to UK2 and had to export my email before switching servers.
I ended up having a large .mbox file. After the switch I uploaded the file on mail and I found that all the emails saved in subfolders were missing (see image). It goes without saying those were the most important emails.
Is there a way to recover the emails in the subfolder?

I have had problems recently getting new folders to list alphabetically and went: Library>Mail>V2> removed envelope folders > and re-opened Mail and the listing worked properly.
Then I updated: OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 (Update (Combo) [URL] ... This sorted out what was, after installing Mavericks, a slower computer. Very happy. However now, when I do a search in the Mail App. and then drag one email to a folder and then click on others and choose move to 'the same folder as one before' it does this but the search replenishes the same email and around and around we go. Before updating this was working fine. How to rectify the search to folder problem descibed above

I have had a recurring problem with filing mail:I am trying to file all email messages onto my iCloud folders on my mail.
1. When i file mail into a folder into won't stay in the folder. It comes back into my inbox.
Furthermore, if it does file messages (which is sporadic) then the messages will go into the folder but someones a copy will also reappear back in my inbox)
2. When i delete emails: the appear back in my inbox even though i have deleted them.
I do not receive an error message when this happens, the emails just pop back up & into my mailbox
How I can do a work around to get message to stay in the folder i want them? Due to this issue my inbox has over 4000 emails in the inbox and i really need to file documents away.
I am operating on OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) and all my updates are up to date!
My home folder is corrupted. I created a new user account and it seems to be fine. I'd like to transfer all my data files to my new account. This is no problem with most applications, but I'm not sure what to do with Apps that save the data themselves.

I am either too stupid or Yosemite's mail does not work the way I'm accustomed to. In all previous iterations you select as many individual addressee's as you wanted and place them in the address heading. I have not found a way to do that in Yosemite. You must choose them individually and place in the address header one at a time. I know about groups but that is not a good avenue as many of my emails go to random people depending on content. If the above is not possible do have an email you reccomend that would let me send to multiple addressees in one operation. I do not use Gmail, Yahoo, etc. . . My email is from 3rd party provider.

I need a searchable listing of all folders and sub folders to consolidate, re-organize, etc. I don't mind buying a utility but would like something that can do all of the above and either let me search and organize the list or let me dump it into Excel.

I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
Today I decided to download Airfoil software so I can listen to quicktime audio through my airtunes speakers. After installing the software my wireless settings are now gone. Even though I can see my wireless network, I can in no way what-so-ever connect to it. If I try to select my network from the list, it automatically deselects it. I can only connect to the airport extreme by connecting the ethernet cable to it. I have tried reinstalling SL and I have tried inserting the install disk for the base station. I tried restarting the machine several times but nothing seems to work. And yes I did unistall the airfoil software. I don't know why this software has completely crippled my wireless settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to make the jump to Snow Leopard and aside from a few side effects I was quickly able to fix I have come a across a rather annoying problem. I used to be able to press command(apple) F5 on my keyboard to raise my volume (and apple f4 to lower it). Now when I hit command F5 I get this voice over thing popping up and it's a quite frustrating. I am on a Macbook Pro and that was the key used to adjust volume prior to the upgrade. Now I learned that ctrl F5 works but I was wondering if and how I can return the function to command F5

Some days ago I lost all of my 15 GB folders and files that stored in my Macbook Pro hard drive called DATA. I brought my Macbook pro to an experienced computer tecnicians who providing data recovery services. To his and my suprise, after checking, scanning it a few hours, he said their is no way to recover because he did not find any trails at all. The computer still seems working properly - I have no problem with any applications. There are few other folders in the DATA hard disk containing pictures, computer programs still remain. These lost folders and files contain mainly documents (word, excel, power point, pdf etc) which I accumulated in my many years working !!!!. I did not make a back up since last September partly because I think Mac is very safe.

I bought my MacBook Pro last year. It shipped with Snow Leopard. Since then I have been using File Vault, and within my Library folder, I had one main folder, a sub folder, and a sub-sub folder locked. Never had any problems accessing those folders. Yesterday, I upgraded to Lion and now the "Library" folder does not even show up and is unsearchable.
I tried turning off the Legacy File Vault and it required more disk space than I had available on the main hard drive, so I cloned the HD onto my LaCie 4TB Thunderbolt drive, making a bootable drive, re-booted from LaCie, and de-crypted it on there. This did not make my folder re-appear.Do I need to revert to Snow Leopard in order to see that folder again? De-crypt and then upgrade to Lion?

For no reason at all, all my folders under my active mailbox have disappeared? I've tried locating my library and then the mail folder - but there is no 'Mail' folder in my Library and I've just checked all my back up (Time Machine) logs and there never has been? I am running Lion (latest ver) on my iMac (2011, i7), and have icloud set up to sync mail (and other stuff) with my iPhone 4. My iCloud account Sent Mail and Drafts are being syncronized between the cloud the iPhone, but not the iMac. So for example, I see 2 items in my Drafts folder when I log into icloud.com, and I see them in the drafts folder on iPhone mail, but they do not appear in the drafts folder for my iCloud account on Mail.app on the iMac. Also, I don't see emails I sent from icloud.com on my Mac's mail. I have iCloud enabled on the mac, and mail syncing is specifically turned on.

After opening Mac HD folder, made the mistake of attempting to change name next to house icon (Home? perhaps) along left spine (spine that includes 'Desktop' 'Documents' 'Applications' etc.). The computer started to run as if adjusting to the name change. From that point on, iphoto/tunes/aperture starting opening as if it was the first time asking for set-up preferences.
No photos/music can be found in the folders. I can still see my folders on the external hard drive that the tunes/photo are on, but they will not open when I open the programs. Any suggestions on fixing the links? I tried in vain to change the name back. The error message says that the previous name is already taken.
All files and folders on the desktop disappeared, I checked time machine and even there are no longer present, even going back months.

While trying to back up emails I seem to have lost them. Following the HELP page in Mail (Mac OS X program) I moved the MAIL folder from LIBRARY to the desktop. I failed to press OPTION while I was doing this, as the HELP page advised. So now, in Mail the identifiers of the messages are there, but the messages aren't and an error message appears saying that the emails have not been downloaded from the server, that I need to be online, etc. I am on line, have done "get mail", all of the obvious things.
I've tried to locate the original MAIL folder with Spotlight.

I use a lap top that is usually connected to a high-resolution external monitor. When I disconnect, usually things behave, but occasionally the windows of certain programs will end up way out off the screen.Today I have a Thunderbird window that is far away (Mozilla apps are common victims/causes of this problem). Normally I would just quit and restart, but I don't trust it to save the draft of this important email.Here are the facts: The window is way off to the left. There is no one-pixel still on my main monitor. If I use F11 to see all Thunderbird windows, they swish in from the left, but if I select one they swish out again. Ditto if I minimize and maximize again.
