Jun 20, 2014After updating to the new OS X Mavericks I found that Mine craft won't launch from my dock. Is there anything I can do to be able to launch Minecraft again?

Applications :: Safari Won't Launch - Dock Icon Bounces For A Few Seconds Then Gives Up?
Nov 12, 2009Safari suddenly won't launch on my 10.5.8 system on my Powermac G5. The dock icon bounces for a few seconds then gives up. I haven't installed any new software recently.I've tried deleting all caches, preferences and plugins, repaired permissions, etc. It doesn't work when logged in on my spare account either.

Jul 1, 2014This week I upgraded my Macbook Pro 13 (2011) from Snow Leopard to Mavericks 10.9.2. Initially I had problems with email crashing and Preview not launching. I then found the upgrade to 10.9.4 and installed that. This cured the email issue but I still cannot launch Preview.

DVD Player: unable to load the interface builder file Dock Menu.nib because the object archive is missing. Valid nib files must contain either keyed objects, nib, objects, nib or data nib. Full Path: /Applications/DVD Player.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/DockMenu.nib I've recently upgraded to Mavericks from Snow Leopard. DVD Player was working fine. In fact I've managed to launch it several times by loading the disc while using Recovery Startup.
I tried resetting SMC/VPRAM, re-installing Mavericks, deleting the plist.
I'm on a mid-2009 iMac. I should add...when I put the DVD in the slot...there's a click or two...then it spits it out again - except for the few times I've managed to load it using the Recovery Startup disk.

OS X Mavericks :: Launch Daemon And Routing
Sep 8, 2014The plist file is well launched as a Daemon as machine start up. It starts a shell script which is suppose to change one route in the Mac routing table.
The syslog trace mention that the shell script is well started, but when I check the route, it kept the default route.
I suppose the problem is due to the fact that the network interface is not up when the script is started at the first time
If I modify the plist file and get ride of the LaunchOnlyOne key the new route is affected, but the script keep running for ever every minutes.

Sep 2, 2014I know this question has been asked and answered but when I read the answer in previous threads, it makes no sense to me. It gives a terminal command that says killall;dock. How can that fix a problem that involves the launchpad.
I had lots of apps in launchpad now I have fewer than half.I know the apps are actually in the applications folder but why does the icon not appear in Launchpad and how do I get them back.

OS X Mavericks :: TextEdit / Preview And Other Apple Applications Won't Launch?
Jun 21, 2014For reasons which escape me, since I rebooted yesterday, I have been unable to launch TextEdit, Preview or Pages - they just say not responding when their icon is ctrl-clicked in the Dock. I just checked Numbers and Keynote, which I have never used and after their initial welcome screen, they too became unresponsive. As far as I can tell, GarageBand, iPhoto and probably others in iLife are unaffected, neither are Mail and Safari.
I found that a similar problem was being experienced a few years ago by some people using TextEdit and Preview and it was solved by re-signing the application in Terminal. I have tried that but it hasn't worked. I have repaired permissions and I'm just downloading the Mavericks installer so that I can make a USB installer and re-install OS X 10.9.3.
I am downloading which may save me the trouble of re-installing OS X 10.9.3, I'd be very grateful.

Jun 22, 2014After migrating from a computer with Snow Leopard to a computer with Mavericks, photo booth will not even launch. Trashed photo booth preferences pfile, fixed permissions in disk utilities, still no launch. Not that big a deal, I don't need to save any previous photo captures, but would like to know whats going on given how much I paid to upgrade to this new mac.

Mac Pro :: MSI 4870 1gb - Mine Seems Bricked?
Sep 5, 2009Does anybody have a working ROM for this MSI 4870 1gb card (T2D1G)? I have already tried combining a "fanfix-implemented" pc bios with the apple ROM using pipomolo42's script, and then flashing it with atitool. The card seems to have been bricked in the process, after the restart command, the (early 2008) Mac Pro have begun chiming constantly, apparently stuck in a POST-loop. I have been unable to boot while the 4870 is put in (only after disconnecting all 2 power cables, although the fan spins on 100%).
Does this mean the card is paperweight, or is it reflashable in a PC (unfortunately i only have the Mac Pro right now)? Alternatively, can i reflash it without the power cables? I suppose atiflash wouldn't even recognise it.. (i couldn't test this, the bootable CD i wrote appears to have ceased working after the initial flashing, even without the 4870 put in) If the card is reflashable, and someone has a working ROM

Any idea how to delete their facebook account integration but keep mine intact. I love using iPhoto with my facebook but I don't really want someone elses up there. This is probably a simple fix, I however can't seem to find the solution.

I opened up and checked what screen model i have and it is different then hers. Mine is 9C9E. Which i thought was the updated screen.
Well hers is 9CBD. Im very confused.
Does anyone know the difference in screens? Should she have got the updated screen like I did?
ITunes :: Authorize Music Purchased On A Different Apple-ID Account Other Than Mine?
May 2, 2012we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization! This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again.

Sep 7, 2014Is there anything I can to do to stop Mail from reading/importing messages from Hotmail that must be taken from Hotmails server, i.e., they are not even in my Hotmail’s Junk folder and certainly not from the Inbox either.
I’ve tried the reset, unchecking Junk/ Trash , rebuild etc.
Mail also reads my Gmail junk and trash folder in error.

TimeMachine, or any other way -- for me to determine which app I deleted? I looked at a TimeMachine backup, but couldn't find any way to view the dock in the backup.

OS X Mavericks :: Mail Asks For Password Upon Launch Then Crashes When Password Is Entered
Jul 1, 2014For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent.
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
OS X Mavericks :: Dock Flips Between Screens
Jun 27, 2014I operate with two screens (MacBook Pro) and generally want the dock at the base of my larger plug-in screen. This works fine except that occasionally, just with mouse movement, it will flip to the base of the smaller machine screen. It can be put back by opening System Prefs/dock and selecting 'right' followed by 'bottom' - but still, it would be nice to know why this happens and if there is an easy way to stop it?

Dec 2, 2014I can't drag files out of stacks (Downloads or Application folders) or app icons off my dock. I reset my SMC when I rebooted and it worked but then I reboot the next day (today) and it won't work anymore. Do I really have to reset SMC every time I boot up? I recently downgraded from Yosemite because it is incomplete and full of bugs and now I have this issue.
