OS X :: Delete Facebook Account Integration But Keep Mine Intact
Jun 30, 2009
I've been using it briefly and it seems to be relatively reliable however tonight I uploaded a photo from my iphoto to another facebook account for someone and now their account is in my iphoto alongside mine. Any idea how to delete their facebook account integration but keep mine intact. I love using iPhoto with my facebook but I don't really want someone elses up there. This is probably a simple fix, I however can't seem to find the solution.
So the new update has saved the wrong Facebook account on my MacBook, so I get all of her notifications. How to delete the account, I can only disable it, but I want it gone...
we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization! This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again.
I open App Store application and it shows that I have 1 update available for an app I never purchased. I try clicking the update button and get the message "You have updates available for other accounts: Sign in to [url]... to update applications for that account." -- I have no clue what this account is or where it came from but it's not mine. MY updates seem to be working OK but I can't get rid of this 1 update available message.
Quick question about Faces in iPhoto '11: I have some pictures of a specific person, say Vicky, and her face is linked with an Address Book entry. Now, when I find a new picture of Vicky, and type "V", the usual name list comes up but now there are two Vickys: the address book one, and the Facebook one (and they are really the same person). How do I make iPhoto "link" the address book contact with the facebook contact?
The first time I published photos to facebook was to upload phtots to my partner's facebook account - now I can't work out how to break the connection to my partner's facebook and estblish a connection with mine!!
I use a program called 1Password (which is pretty much the freakin' coolest application out there, other than Quicksilver). Click here for more info about this app...For the longest time now, I have been dying to get the developers of 1Password to integrate their program with Quicksilver so that I could use QS to launch any of my saved 'web form' entries (which are basically 1Password database entires that store a URL, and your corresponding username/password for that for that URL - and when a web form is launched via the programs 'Go-and-fill' command, the application will open the specified website in your browser and will automatically log you in, without the need for any user intervention whatsoever).
I'm looking for something more comprehensive than FF's inbuilt password. However, I was also hoping that the password manager would integrate nicely with Firefox. Right now, I'm looking at KeePassX and 1password. KeePassX is exactly what I want (secure, open source, etc) but I can't seem to figure out a way to integrate it seamlessly with FF- does anyone know how? As for 1password, I have difficulty trusting my password with it as it's close source and I'm paranoid that the commercial developer who coded it might have left a backdoor somewhere in the program (I know the probabilities of that are trivial, but as I said, I'm paranoid). So, are there any better alternatives out there?
Since I upgraded to Mavericks, my once slick and awesome appointment system has been hobbled due to the new calendar integration.... I create a new event, and try to type "conf call" into the location and I have to wait about 4 minutes whilst maps goes through its entire database of locations desperately trying to find something that matches for each and every single letter that I type. Now when I want to create a new conference call in my calendar, I type "conf call" and go get a refill on my filter coffee while I wait for it to fail and timeout looking for an address that doesn't exist.
I'm sure the feature is awesome for people that create the occasional meeting, and always have the time to wait for neat-o address magic to happen, but I'd just like to turn it off. The paperclip was a bad idea when MS did it in Office all those years ago, let's not revisit.
I have just brought myself a Mac Mini Server Edition for my business and am struggling to set it all up so they work together. Ill quickly explain my setup - I have a Mac mini server connected to a 48 port Net gear router and currently have 9 client computers all of which are dell's running Windows Vista basic. I also have two non-network printers connected to the server and another network printer connected to the router.
Basically, I am having trouble making the clients talk to the server. For example, when i start up my MacBook laptop I can automatically log into my server and access files. However, the Server doesnt seem to register on the Client computers.
It would be greatly appreciated if somebody could give a little input into how to network them. In addition to this, I have purchased a Domain Name and have paid for Domain Name Severing (i.e. it is live). I want my employees to be able to connect into the Server through this domain name via the VPN feature on the Mac Mini Server - does anyone know anything about setting this up?
I've tried using the native email application in Mac as well as MS Office 2008 for Mac Entourage. I'm quite displeased with both of them since neither were able to sync correctly with my work Outlook. I'm wondering if there is another alternative to these two programs to access my work email through Outlook? The issue I had with the other two programs is that it wouldn't pick up all my folders/emails so it was basically like half of my Outlook file was there and the other half was completely gone. I needed an email program that will work almost as well, if not as good, as Outlook on my Mac and I'm not sure of what other programs are out there that can accomplish this. Any ideas?
Recently I got a broken G4 cube. I am trying to figure out what the problem is. The previous owner cut the original IDE-cable. So I replaced it with just a standard IDE-cable. Maybe that's the problem, I am not sure. Everything is connected like it should be, power is on, but it doesn't boot. This is what happens. The moment I connect the power supply, it starts booting, I hear the superdrive spin up for half a second, after that it will go dead again. This repeats itself about a 1000 times. The cinema display is connect through ADC, but doesn't do one thing!
Does anybody have a working ROM for this MSI 4870 1gb card (T2D1G)? I have already tried combining a "fanfix-implemented" pc bios with the apple ROM using pipomolo42's script, and then flashing it with atitool. The card seems to have been bricked in the process, after the restart command, the (early 2008) Mac Pro have begun chiming constantly, apparently stuck in a POST-loop. I have been unable to boot while the 4870 is put in (only after disconnecting all 2 power cables, although the fan spins on 100%).
Does this mean the card is paperweight, or is it reflashable in a PC (unfortunately i only have the Mac Pro right now)? Alternatively, can i reflash it without the power cables? I suppose atiflash wouldn't even recognise it.. (i couldn't test this, the bootable CD i wrote appears to have ceased working after the initial flashing, even without the 4870 put in) If the card is reflashable, and someone has a working ROM
I am currently a pc user and am considering getting a mac. Before I make the leap, I am trying to find out some info. Currently, I'm using Vista with Outlook 2007. I will have to continue using pc for work but would like to use mac for photos, etc... My question deals with Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 compatability/integration. Does anybody know if Outlook and Entourage use the same pst file? Is it still a pst file in Entourage? I will be loading XP on mac via boot camp and/or Parallel/Fusion. Can Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 share the same pst file? I am hoping that they both use the same file so that when I'm in XP, my Outlook will have all emails, sent & received, as when I'm in OSX and Entourage 2008. Am I going to have to import file evertime I change OS? Also, does anybody have an opinion on Parallel or Fusion. What's the difference and what are the pro and cons of either.
I would now like to pass this on to a young person, but I would like to leave them only with the OS X system. The two installed systems may well cause confusuion. How do I remove the OS 9 whilst leaving the OS X intact?
When I move my MacBook I can feel my battery moving inside the macbook as well. My battery cover seems to not sit flush with the rest of the body. It sits enough so it doesn't bother me, but when I turn over the macbook and look at it, it gets more annoying. Do I have ocd?
After updating to the new OS X Mavericks I found that Mine craft won't launch from my dock. Is there anything I can do to be able to launch Minecraft again?
I just purchased the 2.53 Ghz 13" MBP four days ago from the apple store. Well my Gf just ordered hers about 5 days ago and it arrived today. She has the 2.23 Ghz MBP, 2 gb, 160 gb hdd and she also bought hers new. I opened up and checked what screen model i have and it is different then hers. Mine is 9C9E. Which i thought was the updated screen.
Well hers is 9CBD. Im very confused.
Does anyone know the difference in screens? Should she have got the updated screen like I did?
i am the administrator account for my macbook pro, osx leopard. when a roommate moved out, i wanted to delete his standard login account. however, instead of figuring out how to do it the proper way, i accessed the devices/macintosh HD/users/ folder in Finder and simply deleted it. now, when the login screen appears, there are three options: my admin account, a guest account, and an account with no picture entitled "Other...". I can't log into this account, and it doesn't appear in the System Preferences/Accounts screen, so i can't delete or adjust it from there.
has anyone run into this problem before?? it's not a huge nuisance but it's a bit annoying to see it every time i want to log in.
I have a guest acc on leopard and I had parental control on it and earlier I saw the logs in parental control panel on system preferences I just wanna know how do u clear the logs? Where do I delete them? Can I delete them using the admin acc?
i'm having troubles deleting a test-account a set up a while ago. i can't seem to get rid of it, although i've tried to delete it several times on system prefs. i get the message saying alt the content in this user 'home'-filder will be lost, and moved to deleted users-folder.. i press ok, wait a couple of minutes and it seems like it is removing the user. but when the message disappears the user it still there. i've tried restart, and the user is still active..
whats wrong, or what am i doing wrong? the user's got admin rights by the way..
