How would you use Automator and ical to send a monthly reminder email to a set of clients?I thought if I set up a message in automator to send a message, and an event that calls up automator workflow this would work,
View 4 Replies View RelatedReplacing labels with tags is not at all useful particularly for the large market segment of over 50's audience. Those small coloured dots do not work for me distinguish events in my different calendars. Can MAC please bring back labels so that we ca see all our appointments as it was below.

I have these weird highlights on tagged (or previously tagged) files and folders on my Mac, regardless if it's on a desktop or within another folder.
I am aware and have been using the "command+drag" in order to select different texts in different areas; however, I am now unable to do so. When I hold down the command button, and drag over different texts in different places, the highlight instantly disappears. I am only thus, able to highlight one portion of texts at one time.

I bought a MacBook Pro for my wife yesterday and want to share calendars on my MacMini so that we avoid ":double-booking", which seems to happen all too frequently. Both machines are running OS 10.9.3, are signed into the same Apple ID and are — think — connected iCloud. The address books seem to have been shared. Internet connection is fine. But I cannot get the calendar up on the new computer. I have no problem with iPhone and iPad. So, obviously, I am doing something, and probably something very basic, incorrectly. But what???

When I enter an event in calendar, I name it and put the time right after the name. It then enters the time in the detail box that can be opened up regarding the event. What I want to do, however, is show the time in the calendar, right after the name, without opening up the detail box. If I open up the detail box and edit the name by adding the time, it will stay there. Is there a way for me to avoid this extra step and have the time show up right after the event name when I create the event?

If I add an event to iCal such as "Tomorrow 9am Breakfast meeting with George", the event will automatically show up in my calendar assigned to tomorrow 9am. I don't have to go into the event window and enter the time and date.
But I cannot figure out how to enter the text for an all-day event. I have to manually go into the event, click on the time, then select "all-day" and hit enter.
Any way to do this by simply typing some version of "all-day" into the event text?

How do I get the Calendar to repeat an event just one day a week? It always wants to repeat across all days and all weeks, not just the one day each week I want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a client who would like to audit calendar event removal. I'm not finding any seemingly good method for this, and I'm not seeing deletions being logged.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm invited to a recurring event (a weekly meeting), which is an event sent by someone else that I accepted, so it shows up on my calendar. However, I can't seem to set an alert on it, so I either sometimes overlook the meeting start time or I have to create a whole new calendar event just so I can set an alert.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUnder OSX 10.9.3 why can't I delete single instances of a recurring event as I could before upgrading to Mavericks. Now they just come right back.

I want to start an event in the calendar, on this very day, for after 2 weeks (just giving an example). Also I want to add an notification, that is going to notify me and all the invitees, for example 10 before the very event. How can I do that? I tried to do it, but it only reminds me, not the invitees.

I sometimes like to put times (e.g., 10pm) in the titles of my events. I do this because I want to see the time in the event title for certain events. Apple's ical thinks it knows what I want (it doesn't!) and deletes this information from the title, probably to schedule the event at that time, which is ridiculous because I sent the time of the event when I create it. how to turn this function off.

When I access the user/groups window I can unlock the window to allow for changes. In order to delete a standard user you need to highlight the user you wish to delete and then click the minus sign in the bottom right hand corner. But, I cannot highlight the user I want to delete.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter TM reduces the backups to the monthly backups only, what data is stored on it? Is it all data compiled from the daily backups for the entire month? How does TM treat the monthly backup? The reason I ask is, If I add 100 digital pictures per day for a month, are there going to be all 3000 pictures on the monthly backup file after 30 days, or does TM actually delete some of it's backups before the disc is full?
View 22 Replies View RelatedThe iCal application on one of my machines has begun posting appointments to the months prior to and following the date for which the appointment has been entered. In addition, if I tab backward from April nothing happens. Tabbing backward again takes me to February, from which I can tab forward to March.

I just purchased a domain name...how do I go about creating a website for a small business? I don't know code and don't mind using templates but all I can find are web builders that require monthly subscriptions...if I wanted that, I would have paid a web designer. I am just starting out and don't make any money yet with my business, the whole point of the website is to create a little exposure.

I am new to Mac and I have a 10.6 server running the following services: AFP, DCHP, DNS, NetBoot, NFS, Open Directory, Print, SMB, Software Update, Web. Everything is going well. I wanted to know what could I be doing to make sure it stays that way. I run the Repair Disk Permissions every 2 weeks, but that's about it.

Let me just say that I'm not a Mac user and and never have been i have the UK iPhone and was waiting in line to get it, so i do appreciate Apple products. Basically i want to find out the total of all the bandwidth that all the PC's/Mac's are using in my household, I've got the software for my Windows machines but my sister has a Macbook (which i recommended her btw) and i don't have a clue what to get for it? I need something that can display daily & weekly preferably monthly even hourly if it has it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to highlight an already read and saved message in Mac Mail? To clarify, when I open Mail I have a window that shows all my incoming messages, both unread and read. Sometimes after I read a message I want to be able to go back and quickly find it. This could be several days later and in the meantime I have 50 more saved messages and trying to find it is difficult. Is there some way to highlight it in color or flag it so I can easily go back and find it? I am running 10.5.8 although I doubt that has any bearing on anything.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThat's what I see when my mouse is over any menu item and when it's not over any menu item. I've lost menu highlight on the menu bar and the contextual menu (via right click on files and folders) My system is running OS 10.5.2. I've already tried fixing disk permissions. It's like my mouse has gone into stealth mode. Interface can no longer detect my cursor is hovering over them. E.g. Hovering over a web link doesn't highlight that it's a link and status bar below doesn't print the url address of that link. Last thing I could remember was telling Opera 9.25 to give me a pop up regarding web cookies. That's when I lost menu highlight.
