I am trying to integrate the MS office for mac and the standard mac calendar and contacts. i would like them to sync as i use outlook for emails and Calander in mac and appointments don't sync nor can i get the contacts to sync.

I have a bunch of contacts in my Apple Contact book but am using Outlook for Mac 2011 for email, contact management, and calendar. I have read that you have to sync your Apple contact book to your exchange account rather than directly to the Outlook for Mac 2011 programs so you don't create duplicates (contacts coming from the Apple address book AND the Exchange server). However, I can't find anything that tells me how to sync the Apple Contacts with my Exchange account. I figure at that point once synced, my exchange account will push the new contacts from the Apple Contact book back into Outlook for Mac 2011 making everything whole.

I am getting a new iphone for my wife and am unsure whether to create a second icloud account or stay with one. I know that we can use the same iTunes ID for apps and music, so no issues there. But I also want our phone calendars to sync with our Mac (already connected to my phone via icloud). My preference is to have two icloud accounts with linked calendars so we can each have 5gb of free storage. Is that doable with shared calendars on the phones and the Mac?
If we must be on the same account, how to separate out our mail and contacts? We are not using the @me account for mail, so my guess is if we use a separate email account in respective phones, our mail won't get mixed up. Is that correct? We already have multiple groups in our address books. Can we select multiple groups to sync one phone and others to the others? Also, can we access shared notes?

How do i permanently change the Name Field in the "Mail, contacts, calendars" setup.
I press details to enter my own but each time i do the name field is over-written with a previous owner or user of the mac.

I have a Nokia N78 cellphone which I can sync to my Macbook Pro using iSync. This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time I've successfully (and happily most of the time) synced iCal, Address Book, bookmarks, etc. with MobileMe. So my desktop (Mini), laptop (Macbook Pro), iPhone, and iPad stay together. But yesterday syncing went nuts. I was alerted that more than 25% of my calendar items were changing and 1,600 items would be added. I canceled that sync. Then it said 3,800 items would be added, then 11,000, then 85,000! And whole calendars were being duplicated in iCal. (I think most problems occurred in iCal but Address Book seems to have had a few problems too.) Mostly I was able to stop syncing before too much damage was done. But as soon as I turn syncing back on, it goes nuts again. I've deleted as many .plists as I think safe.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since updating my MacBook Air to Yosemite and my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 (or maybe 8.1.1), my calendars no longer sync correctly across devices. Prior to the updates, any addition or change I made to the calendar on my iPhone would be added to the calendar on my Mac the next time I synced my phone. Now I have duplicate events on my phone, the calendar on my Mac no longer incorporates changes from the phone and I get a dialog box on the Mac 2-3 times an hour about calendar conflicts. No matter how many times I review the conflicts and choose which events/updates to save, the box keeps coming back. I've never had a persistent issue like this with any previous iOS or Mac OS updates and I can't figure out why it won't stop.

My boss got me a mac and is connected in a Windows Exchange environment. It works great. But I want to combine my work calendar with my private calendars.
So, I want to bring the exchange calendar of my work computer to show in my private calendars in my mac at home and in my iphone. Maybe through publishing and subscription...?
The issue is that I do not want to put my mobile me password in this work computer, since it is a "Company computer" and it's going to sync all my private info.
How bad can it get if I put my mobile me credentials in this work computer and syncs all my private info? Is there a potential that my info be out in the open for all to see in my workplace?
My calendars on the iPhone did not syncronize with iCloud for other devices (iPad, Mac). So I tried to sync iPhone Calendars with iTunes where I got a warning of duplicate entries.After the sync my Mac calendars all were gone, on the iPhone, on the Mac. Only the Calendars on iCloud, which are not up to date (!!!) are still available. I tried to restore via TimeMachine but could not find the database for iCal. Everything seems to have changed in OX Lion.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was thrilled to discover the (advertised) easy integration in Snow Leopard between iCal and Google Calendar. Additionally, I use Mobile Me to keep everything sync'd between my computers and my iPod touch. But, upon tinkering between iCal and Google Calendar, it seems there is no simple way to integrate multiple iCal calendars with multiple calendars in a single Google Calendar account, in way that allows it to all still sync with Mobile Me. It seems that the sync only works between the "Primary Calendar" of the Google Calendar (the first calendar created in the account) and iCal -- there's no way to also.
The closest I can seem to get is to have my primary account with google calendar sync'd (say, with my personal calendar), and then have "Delegate" calendars linked up with my work, class, etc calendars. But, none of these calendars "delegate" or "primary" seem to want to sync with Mobile Me. I'm hoping the MacRumors Army might have some ideas... Is spanning sync the only solution?
It seems that the contacts app has suddenly become incapable of accessing my contacts in the cloud. Its fine on icloud.com, its fine on my phone, and its fine on my ipads. However, I'm getting an error message right now which I think must be to do with an update to Little Snitch which I did almost immediately before, and which necessitated a reboot. Since the reboot, I am seeing the following

I use iCloud for syning Mail & Notes. Contacts, Calendars and Documents & Data. I am 100% sure that in the past in iTunes/Info tab "Sync contacts" and "Sync Mail Accounts" showed all my different Address Book groups and different email account to be synced. Since recently they seem disappeared and I only see my different Calendars to be synced. Why are both Sync contacts empty and Sync Mail Accounts both emtpy/dimmed. BTW if I check Sync contacts I get a message that they are synced through iCloud etc. etc. Now if I enable on my Mac another email account in Apple Mail it is not added to my iPhone/iPad anymore. How can I change that ?

I bought a MacBook Pro for my wife yesterday and want to share calendars on my MacMini so that we avoid ":double-booking", which seems to happen all too frequently. Both machines are running OS 10.9.3, are signed into the same Apple ID and are — think — connected iCloud. The address books seem to have been shared. Internet connection is fine. But I cannot get the calendar up on the new computer. I have no problem with iPhone and iPad. So, obviously, I am doing something, and probably something very basic, incorrectly. But what???

I just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
I have an Iphone and I have a macbook pro. Now, I used to have at my work Hosted Exchange were all my contacts were on. Now, lost my job and now I want to delete the workaccount (mail). When I do that, my Iphone erases all my contacts on my iphone, which i don't want of course.
Now, what i did, I have tagged all the boxes in entourage to sync with Icall, etc. BUT when i do a sync from Itunes, it whipes away all my contacts again, because it probably takes it from the empty folders. So that's a big issue. I'm not able to get all my contacts into Entourage or I call. Normally when you put the cable in, it should sync everything from the iphone to your mac right? Well it doesn't. It doesn't even asked the question. I have no clue what to do anymore or how to get my contacts into my entourage, so i can make a new e-mailaccount (personal one) and link everything together.
