What I mean is that the link will open the browser (which ever one is set as default,) but the browser opens to the home page instead of going to the page specified by the link in the email. it is not because I haven't set a default browser.
View 4 RepliesPeriodically, all links on a page (any page including Apple) will stop working. Quitting Safari and the restarting works to clear the problem until the next time. The links fail to work with either the mouse or the trackpad.

Just recently when I click on some new emails, it opens a different email in my inbox than was indicated. Not all emails act this way.Â
I have quit Mail and restarted, but it doesn't clean up the problem.
After the last software update my printer wasn't recognizing ink cartridge. So I uninstalled its software. Now I can't find its drivers anywhere. Epson's website says check your Mac software updates and doesn't offer to download the driver directly. But there are no available updates for my computer as of now. How do I find and install the driver?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI sometimes like to put times (e.g., 10pm) in the titles of my events. I do this because I want to see the time in the event title for certain events. Apple's ical thinks it knows what I want (it doesn't!) and deletes this information from the title, probably to schedule the event at that time, which is ridiculous because I sent the time of the event when I create it. how to turn this function off.Â

We have two email addresses (one for myself and one for my spouse). In one account the e-mails now seem to "appear" twice in that inbox since Snow Leopard. However, when we move the email to another folder, only one moves and the phantom one disappears. This is annoying. Any thoughts of what we might do?
Whenever I update anything on my shared calendar, all those who subscribe to it get an email/notification about what I've changed or added. Same if someone who I'm subscribed to updates anything on their calendar, I get an inbox full of emails telling me they have done so. Am I able to stop sending these update emails/notifications? And/or is there a setting to stop receiving these update emails/notifications?

My MBP has this issue every once in a while where I have to hold the power button and force shut down. Randomly the volume keys/brightness etc. stop working and i can't open apps or shut it down normally. Everything still works though (can still function in open applications) Anyone know what the problem is? It fixes when I force reset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in the midst of moving from a 2011 imac to a 2014 - I have/had 3 TM backups  1) before the 2011 crashed and was repaired - 2) from the interim 2014 imac that I restored and updated for the new computer and 3) a "carbon copy clone" of my current drive because the apple tech made me wipe the drive and start over and it failed. Â
My computer will be here next week and I wanted to prepare.  However since the restore of the repaired 2011 NO TIME MACHINE will back up on ALL 3 drives the same error happened.  It would start fine and say it needed 17-22 hours to "create new" or "inherit" and would start fine and then freeze somewhere around 15-20GB?????   I left it more than 6-7 hours and the freeze remained. Â
Need a TM expert...... this HAS to be a Mavericks OSX issue and I do not want to wipe another drive. Â

For example, i set up the time limit to 1/2 hour for both week days and weekends. But I still I can get more than 6 hours. I searched the forum, historically Apple OSX has parental control bugs in versions.Â
What's the fix or remedy or other apps to limit the hour? Some people point out "time limit" and "bed time" conflicts with each other, check only one on solved some people's problem. But it doesn't work for me

I cleaned up all my kext files from Sep 2013 back to address the kernel_task overload, but now itunes won't play (play button works but songs do not move forward), time machine will not restore backup and no audio comes from google chrome. Do I need to reinstall each individual program/application? Will a reinstall of Mavericks work?

Since upgrading on Tuesday night, My mail has been crashing every time I try and compose, and/or, send an email. Also, the hard drive is running continuously, almost as if Time Machine was running or it was defragging. And, some programs, i.e. Second Life, just freeze on start-up.

I think what I'm talking about are javascript links...when you go to, for example, [URL] I'm talking about the links in the box on the right labeled "Most Watched Video." None of the links IN THAT BOX work for me. By "work" of course I mean go anywhere or do anything. It's as if I'm clicking in an area of a page without links.
This happens for me in other sites with similar links. What gives?!
I've checked Firefox and am running the latest version of javascript. I'm also running the latest version of Firefox 3.6.8. I'm on a Mac OSX 10.4.11 - old system software, I realize, but I simply haven't been able to afford moving beyond this (plus my Mac is a Macbook, 2GB RAM, 80GB HD - old unit).
I use Safari to download my banking information. After the last Safari upgrade (5.1.4) I can log on but cannot open links to the different accounts. I can "exit" but cannot navigate deeper into the site.
Using early 2008 MacBook Pro 15 with Lion. It won't work using my iMac but will work using Internet Explorer on a PC.

Left side of ESPN not working - cursor does not recognize the links and will not let you click on them to navigate through the site.Â

Does anyone know how to stop Mail from retrieving all of my emails, basically when I set it up it always starts to retrieve all of my emails from my Gmail account, I probably wouldn't mind but I have about 30,000 emails and that takes up a lot of space.

First, when I send out emails with links in them, 50% of the time the link is cut in half; the text is there, but the clickable part of the link is only for half of the test.
For example it would show up like this:

I know the recipients can just copy and paste the whole email, but I send these emails to a lot of family friend members who aren't computer literate. Plus it's just a hassle for the reader.
My second question is that whenever I reply to an email, my emails don't display the image that was in the original email. It just says "attachmentXXXX" at the bottom. Is there anyway to fix this?
