View 3 RepliesI have the same question about printing error - remote host did not accept file data (32), is the answer the same as I saw among answers about the notification regarding printers? I have Copy Machine: Kyosera KM-2560. I print, let's say about 120 sheets on Friday. After about 50% into the spooling I get this message of the error. Would it be the printer using IP?

So I've been having a lot of internet issues since clean installing leopard. My neighbor, who works for Verizon, came over to take a look and thought I was having some DNS issues. He edited the "host" file and now my internet connection seems even worse. I found instructions online on how to edit the host file, but could someone post what the host file is actually supposed to look like in Snow Leopard since I don't know what he changed? I still have a completely clean install of SL, no 3rd party apps yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a ton of job applications to fill out and hopefully turn them all in tomorrow. I have so many job apps, but rather than filling them all out by hand I'd much rather type the info into the PDF file directly and then print them out, ready to go. What's the best way to do this? I started out downloading Adobe Reader, later realizing there is a difference between Reader and Adobe Acrobat. Then after searching for a while I noticed the trial version of Acrobat I downloaded from Adobe's site is for Windows only; discovering Acrobat for Mac only went up to version 8.
There are no free trial downloads of version 8 for mac out there. I'd really hate to have to print out over 70 sheets of paper and fill them out one by one, box by box. Will "Preview" allow me to edit and add text on each job application? I'll respond quickly, as i'm looking for a solid solution on the matter. The only thing I've found, though don't really like it is uploading the PDF file online to a specific website and editing it there, text box by text box...seems, a bit of a hassle.
I currently have a Mac Mini operating as a Home Theatre with my TV, i transfer media files between my MacBook and the Mini via the Wi-Fi network.
The files transfer fine, no problems. However when it comes to modifying or editing the files i have a labourious task of going into the info pane of the file & adding the Mac Mini as a user and then giving it the read/write permissions.
Is there any way that files transferred from my MacBook via this method already give the read/write permissions automatically to my Mac Mini? Instead of going into every file and adding the permissions manually?
Probably is a simple answer to this, but its the first time i've used file sharing between two macs.
Preferably free/shareware. I'm on 10.4.11.

I have a Mac Air running Mavericks on a HFS partition and Windows 7 on a BOOTCAMP NTFS partition. I have some files that I want to read/write from/to both systems. Since OS X can't write NTFS and Windows can't write HFS either, and I don't want to use any 3rd-party tools/drivers, in OS X, I copy those files from NTFS to its HFS partition, make changes, then switch to Windows and sync them back to NTFS.Â
The problem is, after I copied a file from NTFS to HFS in OS X, it seemed ok. But when I switched to Windows, the very copied file in HFS partition had its size changed (bigger) although I didn't make any changes to it in OS X yet. This happens to almost every file I copied, text and binary. For those text files, I tried to open it with EditPlus in Windows and EditPlus reports the correct size on the status bar.Â

Is there a way to run Mac OS X as a virtual machine on a Mac OS X host? My Mac OS X system is configured as a server for my home network. It provides mail, DNS, and DHCP services to other systems on my home network. Occasionally, I need to establish an IPsec VPN connection to work from the Mac OS X system. When I do this mail, DNS, and DHCP are not available. Are there any options aside from purchasing another system to be the server for my home network?

I have gone through the setup of my newly installed lion server software. I setup a server.example.private host name and have turned on file sharing, and VPN. I bought the server software so I can access my host computer from my IPad and a windows based laptop. When I attempt to setup the profile manager I get to the screen in the directory admin setup that asks for the host name and password, etc. The name and host name are already populated with a generic names and the password fields are blank. Whether I leave the generic fields blank and try and enter a new password or change the generic fields and password to something new I get the same error message every time. It says "Computers host name is invalid. The host name does not resolve to any configured address on this comp. ensure the host name is correct. How do I find out what the correct host name is for my computer?
