Can anyone running Snow Leopard tell me whether or not the iTunes widget has finally been fixed? In Leopard (and maybe even before, I dunno) it's broken in the following ways:
Shuffle button doesn't respond
Dropdown list of playlists on the flip side is empty
No flip animation, only a pause (not a big deal, I know, but still)
I'm looking to buy Snow Leopard for my early 2007 intel 24" white imac before the end of the year. It currently has Tiger on it. So are SL's glitches being fixed and will all the issues be cleared up before the end of the year?

I have been hearing that Apple has switched from using AccuWeather to Weather.com (The Weather Channel) for the weather Dashboard widget in Snow Leopard. Is this true? Anyone with the WWDC build or the newer build. The fact that my iPod touch (weather.com / yahoo) weather app and OS X dashboard (AccuWeather) never match is kind of annoying.

So this issue happened on my previous MacBook Pro with Leopard and then again with Snow Leopard. Now, it's happening again on my brand new 27" iMac. Every time I restart and bring up the dashboard, my weather widget loads and then jumps down a quarter of an inch or so on the screen. How can I stop this from happening and why hasn't Apple fixed this after 2 years?

I'm a recent convert to Apple. I'm just starting to play around with widgets. When I look at the apple dashboard website I see no way of searching the web site for a keyword like "weather". Am I overlooking something?

Invisible but not gone because when I click in the icon in the list at the bottom of the page it sort of semi appears on the page but disappears with an effect like ripples in a pond (,which is in it's self a fantastic effect) The cross is still there in the top right corner though.
Any ideas as to what I have cocked up now
a new problem with my MacBook I think. The iTunes widget on my dashboard isn't working correctly, when I click on the i button to turn around the widget to select a playlist, the dashboard freezes temporarily and when it turns around there are no playlists to select. I know I have loads of playlists and I am using the original iTunes widget that came installed on the machine.

Just tonight it has crashed once while syncing to my ipod touch and once when attempting to access itunes store. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. My system is a 1st gen unibody pro 2.8 GHz 15" 4 Gb RAM. I was also playing music while the last two crashes happened.

I have followed all those appropriate steps and when I try to enter my 'Password' when asked, my keyboard doesn't work. No key press can be activated at all when trying to enter my password in 'Terminal. And I am in the 'Administrator' user.

Last night I got rid of Leopard on all 3 of my macs and did a clean install of Snow Leopard.
Among the little problems I`m having at the moment (even after upgrading to 10.6.4) this is a big one I haven`t been able to find a solution for :
I used Software Update to update everything and after the installation I realized the new iTunes isn`t working.
I recently installed Snow Leopard. It works faster than before and it gave me 8GB of space back. But, after looking through Applications in system profiler, I found out iTunes is not 64-bit unlike Safari and other native applications that have been re-written to 64-bit. I remember Apple said iTunes is also re-written. I must download a new version or it's included in an update (I'm waiting the 10.6.2 update to download at the moment)?

I have everything backed up to TimeMachine, but I just wanted to check that my entire iTunes library will be able to be recovered back into iTunes from TimeMachine after I complete the clean install of Snow Leopard. Also, is a time machine backup enough or should I be paranoid and back up everything to another external disk?

I tried to put new music on my iPod. This has consistently been a problem because Itunes says that the ID that i'm getting my applications from is not the same as the one issued to the iTunes application on the computer I get my music from ( because the iTunes on this computer has no purchased music, only free promotional mixtapes, so it isn't linked to any iTunes account). This forces me to have to restore my iPod to factory quality every time I want to apply new music to my iPod.Â
This time the problem is worse- I updated Itunes earlier to the newest version ( I hadn't updated my music or Ipod software in a very long time), and now Itunes is unable to recognize my Ipod. I get the error message, "iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services" after iTunes tries to recognize the iPod for a sync for about 30 seconds.Â
I read this article; [URL] which suggests that I update to the newest version of iTunes, then reset my sync history. The problem now? I can't even get the preferences tab to load. Whenever I try to load the preferences tab, iTunes freezes up and becomes unresponsive. This is extremely frustrating. I have to go through all this troubleshooting, errors, and updating just because my iTunes isn't registered because it has no purchased music?Â

I want to do a clean/fresh install of Snow Leopard tomorrow. I can deal with reinstalling apps, etc. but I really don't want to lose my iTunes library, mainly my play count. Crazy, I know, but hey lol.
What's the best way of doing a fresh install without losing it? File->Library->Back Up To Disk? Will simply saving my iTunes folder to an external, then copying it to the fresh install work?
Just upgraded to iTunes 9.0 and I'm running a clean install of Snow Leopard.
Every time I open up iTunes that stupid Firewall box asks if I want to allow/deny incoming connections.
Even if I allow, and verify it's in the list as allow, it asks everytime.
I've removed it from Firewall settings, no luck.
I've reinstalled iTunes, no luck.
Finder and itunes cannot access files and folders have disappeared from external hard drive. On OSX 10.6.8, How can I bring them back? Started when the usb connection failed. Firstly I could see the folders in finder but could not open them, now I can't see the folders. I tried opening photos from phtoshop and though I could see and select them, it crashed when I tried to open them. When reimporting CDs it asks if I want to replace existing files? Should I repair permissions?

Well, just went there and nothing is listed inside the iTunes folder.
Is there some sort of protection in place preventing me from accessing all my stored MP3s and playlists?
