OS X :: How To Hide A Mailbox
Jan 14, 2011I've got several input mailboxes in my Apple mail. I want to hide one of them, make it invisible so no one but me knows it's there and can use it.
I don't know how to go about this. Suggestions?

May 27, 2012I had a problem sending mail. I tried several times to fix it, finally decided to delete the mailbox and start over. I try and try but the mailbox is still there stuck trying to get mail even though all the old mail is gone and no mail comes through.

Jun 22, 2012Somehow, I now have two Yahoo accounts on my laptop (I think it happened when I updateed snow leopard a couple of months ago).This resulted in double messages to my iPhone, which put me over my data usage. When I tried to remove one of the yahoo accounts by "delete mailbox" on my laptop, the mailbox remained and the mail remained but the message contents in both Yahoo accounts were empty!

Feb 22, 2009I'm pretty anal about the cleanliness of my documents folder, so I cannot stand having a folder called Adobe or Microsoft User Data in my docs folder.
I want to be able to hide those folders without adding a . before them (because then the apps won't be able to find the folders). Is there any way to do this? I know you can also change the permissions, but again, then the apps cant use the folders.

Oct 25, 2007I did something really stupid... I have been accessing my GMail account using POP access and Apple Mail.app. I switched over to IMAP online, went into Mail.app Preferences, deleted my POP account and was about to re-add it as an IMAP account when I noticed that the e-mails in my inbox were deleted when I deleted my POP account. I checked ~/Library/Mail and the folder was in fact deleted. Is there anyway to recover that folder? Not all of the e-mails are still on GMail's web interface.

Jan 31, 2008I have a Mailbox that I want to delete from Mail.app.
I can right click it, select delete. And it gives the warning. I select OK and it does nothing. I have tried it through the menu system too, and the same result.
Any idea how to delete the mailbox? The deal is I set it up to an email that I cannot access via POP and it is constantly trying to access it but can't, obviously.

I was not able to get my mail from my mailbox, only saw some italic script telling me to go online to get my mail. I was already "online" so I went on and off and on again and nothing changed. So I noticed the "rebuild" option and clickd on it, not sure what it might do but it sounded promising. Well all the email in my inbox disappeared and around 12,000 others that my wife and I shared. Can I recover them?
