Software :: How To Hide Or Change Ip Address?

Mar 30, 2010

Is there a way to hide or change my ip address. I have moved to Mexico from the US and several websites including some shopping and my financial institution sites will not let me do things on the site because they see my ip is from outside the US.

Several sites often open in Spanish even google and it is a drag to constantly try and get these sites back in English.

I have nothing to hide I just want use the internet as if I was still in the US.
Any help would be appreciated.

Laptops :: Apple Mail System Address Book Vs The Dock Address Bookk

Nov 21, 2010

Using a G4 IBOOK with OS 10.5.8. Recently converted IBOOK from just my wifes computer to both of us so it is now dual usuage with both of us signing in to our respective files/e-mail, etc. My side has a problem never experienced before. My apple mail system address book has all the names the dock address book does but is missing almost 2/3rd of the actual e-mail addressess. I have tried to redo the dock address book in hopes it would change the "internal" mail book, but to no avail. It id difficult to add a recipient to an outgoing e-mail via the dock address instead of the apple mail address book.

Mac OS X Lion Server :: Email Address Requires Host Name In Address Field

May 5, 2012

I'm trying to setup mail on Lion Sever (7.3). The only way I can get it to accept incoming mail is to specify the whole FQDN of the server in the address. For example the domain name is example.com and I have a user set up called john. Sending mail to john@server.example.com works.

But sending mail to john@example.com (which is what I want) returns an error:
554 554 5.7.1 <john@example.com>: Relay access denied (state 13).

For internal DNS, I have:
example.com - primary zonemail.expample.com - alias server.example.comserver.example.com - 192.168.1.2 [URL] - alias server.example.com MX record [URL]

I see references here to problems in mail on 7.3 but not this specific problem.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Address Book - Address Editing For Group Members?

May 20, 2012

how to specify which of several email addresses should be used for a member of a group.  It starts by selecting the menu item "Edit > Edit Distribution List."  From there it explains how to select the desired address for a specific person.  All well and good...

BUT...

Try as I might, doing various combinations of name or group selections in the address book window, I cannot seem to get the "Edit Distributuion List" item to be un-greyed.  Effectively, the program is not allowing me to do the edit function I need to do on this one group member.

Am I missing the secret handshake in this process?  Why should it be this hard to do this simple function?

Which raises the larger question of "What did Apple do to the Address Book application in general?"  This issue is only the tip of my iceberg.  The whole app seems to be harder to use than before.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Why Address Book Add New Phone / Email Address As Other

Mar 20, 2012

I must be missing something very obvious, but I can't seem to set Address Book to add all new contact info as "Work" entries. I have to edit every new entry and change all the fields from "other" to "work." This appears to happen when I "grab" phone or email info from an email message.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Add An Address From The Address List In MAIL?

Jun 11, 2012

This is probably a stupid question, but why isn't there an address contact button that you can click on in a new message from MAIL? Am I missing something here? In all previous versions of the OS one could just do that and a list of contacts popped up and then you could click on one and it would go to the "To" slot. There's got to be an easier way than to open the contact book, find an address, copy it, then place it in the message "To" slot.

I'm pretty anal about the cleanliness of my documents folder, so I cannot stand having a folder called Adobe or Microsoft User Data in my docs folder.

I want to be able to hide those folders without adding a . before them (because then the apps won't be able to find the folders). Is there any way to do this? I know you can also change the permissions, but again, then the apps cant use the folders.

OS X :: Is It Possible To Hide Dock Completely

Dec 5, 2010

I wonder if it is possible to hide the Dock completely. If you go to Dock settings and hide it, it will appear when the cursor near its edge. What I want, is to hide it completely - dont want it to appear all of a sudden and interrupt me. I found the app Dock Gone, which hides the Dock and makes it accessible via a keyboard-shortcut. Thing is, it costs $14.95, and I just want the dock to disappear.

Is there a way to do this? A terminal command or something? I guess there must be - Dock Gone is doing it somehow.

OS X :: Hide Mail.app At Boot?

Apr 18, 2009

I recently got MobileMe for the purpose of push email. However, it refuses to push my email to Mail.app if it is not either running and active or running and hidden (either way, the blue/white dot is under the icon).

So, for ease of use I figured that it must be started whenever I login. I added it to my Login Items under Account Preferences, and selected the "Hidden" checkbox because I don't want my inbox showing up whenever I login to my computer.

However, Mail.app still shows up whenever I sign on. I tried deselecting the checkbox and trying again, but the inbox would still come up.

Is there any way to prevent my Mail inbox from showing up whenever I login?

OS X :: Why App Windows Hide And Behave Bad On A Mac

Jun 10, 2009

After owning a Mac for over a year I still don't get why application windows behave a real pain. There must be an explanation.

For example in Microsoft Word, i have 10 documents open. Here are the types of problems I have:

1) I'm in a document, then use CMD+TAB to go to another application then I use CMD+TAB to come back to Word, and bingo, it's sat at a different document to what was on top before I did any CMD+TABing.

2) I want to bring a particular open document to the foreground, so just like on the PC, I go to Window and select the document title, but NOPE it does not come to foreground.

3) I search around moving document windows around to find open document I want in the foreground and click it expecting that to bring it into foreground, but NOPE that does not happen.
