OS X :: How To Add Image And Description To Front Row Movie
Jun 21, 2009
I'm going to University in September, so I'm ripping all my DVDs to AVI format (NOT MP3, so I can't add them to iTunes) so I can save storage. And I'd like to view them in Front Row with an image and a description of the movie. So is there a way I can add these to the files? This is how they look in iTunes at the moment.
Can they be played this way? We know that Front Row can access iTunes because it shows the Top 10 Movies in the Movies Section, but when I rented a movie last night, it didn't show up there. Is something wrong? If not, why hasn't Apple came out with a fix for it.
Does making an Alias of my movie files to point to Front Row doubles the files and take up more space in the HD? I don't understand what Alias really is.
I'm experiencing some strange behavior in Front Row under 10.5.1 and I was wondering if it's "by-design": When browsing for photos via Front Row, after choosing an event - whenever an event contains some movie clips in it, the clips would show as a blank, black screens during the event slide show. Once the slide show skips to the next photo, everything continues as usual...
I'm finding it hard to believe that this is how it was meant to be. Can't it just show the movie-clip? (or at least skip it...?)
I am using the most current version of iTunes (11.2.2(3)) and when I brought it up today all my movie images were missing out of the movie directory/folder. I do not download them to my computer because they take up too much space but the movie images have always been in the directory/folder.Â
I upgraded to Lion and sadly, Front Row is not supported. I somehow found the Front Row app in my systems folder and moved it to my Applications folder. Front Row now shows up in my applications folder, as well as Launchpad. However, when I go into Front Row, it does not recognize any of my media from iTunes. I tried out this website: [URL]..blog/frontrowenablerforlion to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make Front Row work in OS X Lion.Â
Any news of Front Row in Lion? Apple is selling the mac mini without any new interface? Apple really needs to offer us something over front row which I don't think has been updated since 2007. So Apple how about it?
In my old version of iPhoto '08, I was able to adjust the size of the photo information dialogue box to type and view a description of a photo. We were able to write paragraphs in the photo information "description" area. In the new version of iPhoto ' 11, I can not enlarge the "Add a description" more than the two lines that are visible. Is there a way to enlarge the "Add a description" so that I can see more than two lines?
I like being able to drag a url down to the dock to create a permanent shortcut to that webpage, but how do I change the description that appears above the url icon? I want to create shortcuts to some google forms I created, but when I do so the description is always the URL, which isn't helpful. I need to change the desciption so it says "timesheet" or "sign up form" instead of the url.
- Is there any way to include a description to a Timemachine backup? It would be helpful to include information such as "backup before installing a specific program or system update".
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.2)
I have been having this problem since I updated safari , whenever I open a youtube video the description in the description box isn't complete and I have to highlight the whole area to see the full content :s
I recently noted that accented characters are lost in long name description of email alias address when using Mail.app but ok when using webmail in iCloud.com Setup in the prefs of the master mail account in iCloud, the long name description for the corresponding alias.is transcripted as "Frdric" in Mail.app when selecting the sender address in the dropdown list box. However, all is fine when using webmail within iCloud.com The problem appears only with OSX not with iOS.
I have been using my alias with accented char in its long name description for the last 4 years with Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion until recently. I can replicate on 3 differents Macs. Even tried to create a new user account.
can anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong? i am trying to create a movie using video clips from my camera. when i download my movies to iphoto, they work great. when i drag them to imovie, they play but i do not get any sound. the 3 little check marks are there but still no sound!
Okay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Â Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...Â
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.Â
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.
I quit iTunes and my rental movie disappeared after watching half of the movie. The rental sidebar disappeared as well. What do I do to retrieve my movie?
I currently use Quicken for Mac 2007 for my budget and finance.fonts are far too small for me to see clearly and cannot be changed. My budget and finance requirements are reasonably straightforward1. Create income and expenditure categories and sub-categories 2. Create 3 accounts (cheque, savings, credit) in which I can manually record debit and credit transactions by description, category and sub-category 3. Create annual budgets with specified amounts each month (not average amounts) for categories and sub-categories
I have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?Â
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.Â
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?
I want to erase a bunch of ancient floppy disks before dumping them and the drive, and I'd like to script an automated solution that will ensure that the media I'm erasing is in my floppy drive, and I'm not blasting one of my Hard Drives by mistake. I'm hoping that my script will be able to trace from the drive to the floppy to ensure that I've got the right target, else quit before doing any damage. The names of the floppy disks themselves are varied, but the name of the drive itself is stable and known. Disk Utility shows the name of the drive (Y-E DATA USB-FDU Media) and the name of the particular disk volume in the drive at the moment. I can find the floppies in the /dev/disk# special file, but I haven't found the drive itself. Â
I think Disk Utility automatically appends "Media" and maybe "USB-FDU" to a string that it pulls from somewhere, but I can't find that source. how/where Disk Utility digs up the info on the drive itself?
One software says I cannot upload an image because the image or the container folder does not have permission. Indeed there is one "unknown" in permissions, that I cannot get to a read write no matter how hard I try -- both on the folder, the desktop, and the file (this is all on my laptop)Â I've done a repair permission.
When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.
