View 1 RepliesI'm going to University in September, so I'm ripping all my DVDs to AVI format (NOT MP3, so I can't add them to iTunes) so I can save storage. And I'd like to view them in Front Row with an image and a description of the movie. So is there a way I can add these to the files? This is how they look in iTunes at the moment.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anyone else has encountered/ been annoyed by this. When printing multiple documents on an Epson Stylus Photo R280, the "Epson Printer Monitor" window forces itself to the front every single time a new doc starts printing from the queue. You can be typing in another application, and each time a new doc begins printing, you lose your place and have to click back to what you were doing because the print monitor springs to the front. Does anyone know how to turn this off? Can anyone think of a way to stop it? I want my BACKGROUND printing back! I'm on a Mac Pro 2.66, OS X 10.5.4. This occurs regardless of which program I print from. I searched the Epson website, no dice. Googled my key terms, no luck there either.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI would like to ask is it possible to load fonts into the Font Book of a MacBook Pro from a custom folder location, not from the default one?
Why I need this is because I work as a Web Designer and I would like to share all fonts I use with my design team, and when I add a new font or some of them adds it to be available for all of us. Right now what I do is we have a shared folder on Google Drive and every friday we update it by Copy & Pasting our fonts into that folder and then after all of us has done this we go in and Copy & Paste back all of the content, that way we keep our fonts synced.
What I was thinking is that if we can load the fonts directly from the shared folder would work really well to keep it in sync...

On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update!
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print an 11.98x17.97 image on a 13x19 sheet. I specify .51" borders top and bottom, and .52" right and left.
Instead, I am getting a 7.5x10.75" printed image with L 1 1/8" + R 7 1/8" borders and T 1/8" + B 5 3/8" borders. In short, a smaller image, shoved up and left on the sheet. See screen shot below.
Same happened when I tried to print a 4x6 image on an 8.5x11 sheet, until I was told by Kirby to enter the sheet size as a standard 'letter size' sheet instead of entering a custom 8.5x11" size. Is this the same? If so, what's the 'standard' size for 13"x19"?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Lion and sadly, Front Row is not supported. I somehow found the Front Row app in my systems folder and moved it to my Applications folder. Front Row now shows up in my applications folder, as well as Launchpad. However, when I go into Front Row, it does not recognize any of my media from iTunes. I tried out this website: [URL]..blog/frontrowenablerforlion to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make Front Row work in OS X Lion.

I bought a new HD, so i reformatted my disk and at the same time the 10.6.6 update with the Mac App Store came by. So i reinstalled my OS, then updated. I have the icon on de dock, but when i click it, it just stays saying: Loading, connecting to the iTunes Store... But it hangs there. It doesn't do anything. I even opened iTunes, logged into the store, but still nothing in the Mac App Store.

fonts must be messed up in Snow Leopard. Some system things display strange fonts. For example, my user name in upper right hand corner of the screen doesn't look right.ALso, the font on the "tabs," in Safari is not correct, and I can compare it to other SL computers.

Any news of Front Row in Lion? Apple is selling the mac mini without any new interface? Apple really needs to offer us something over front row which I don't think has been updated since 2007. So Apple how about it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer!
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.
Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?

One software says I cannot upload an image because the image or the container folder does not have permission. Indeed there is one "unknown" in permissions, that I cannot get to a read write no matter how hard I try -- both on the folder, the desktop, and the file (this is all on my laptop) I've done a repair permission.

When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.
