Oct 17, 2010I am trying to make up a playlist of my top 100 most played songs I thought I had done it but when ever a new song is added and reaches a play count high enough to be added to the playlist it does not show up.
what I should select when creating this kind of playlist?

Dec 16, 2009When i transferred all my Music and Movies from my PC, i put them into the specified Music and Movie folders, but when i used itunes to open all of them, iTunes makes a copy of all of them and put then into it's own folder.
doesn't this take up 2x the space then?

May 7, 2012I have a series of short (5 minute) videos that I want to be able to add to a playlist and have them automatically play, one following the other, the same way that a song does. If I have a song playlist, and I tell it to play the first song, it then goes on immediately to play the second song. But with videos, they don't immediately play. I have a playlist full of short videos. Shuffle is on, as well as Repeat All. I'm not sure what button I need to press to make this playlist actually work. How do I do it?

Oct 20, 2008I've only recently added release years to all my albums and now I sort by album by year, which is great. However, I'd like to make some smart playlists based on decades, and this is a problem for anything on some sort of anthology or greatest hits collection. For example, the Barenaked Ladies greatest hits CD was released in 2001.
If I tag the whole album as 2001, it sorts correctly, but the individual tracks from the 90's won't show up in the 90's smart playlist. The other option I can think of is to tag each individual track with the correct year, but then the album stops appearing in the right place chronologically within the BNL albums, since iTunes no longer knows it was released in 2001.
So my question is this: is there some way to do a sort of "Sort Year" or "Album Year" similar to "Sort Artist" or "Album Year"?
And while I'm at it, I'm sure there's no way, but it seems like it'd be cool to somehow tie a track to two different albums. Previously, if I had a greatest hits and some original albums, I would erase any duplicates from the greatest hits and only keep them on the original album. However, since the release of iTunes 8 I use a more album-based approach to my music. I use grid view with shuffle off by default, and often just click "Play Album". But if I do that for a greatest hits comp, it of course won't play the tracks that I've deleted from it. So I have to keep two copies of the same recording for two different albums. It'd be cool if there was some way to tie one track to both albums to avoid dupes. But again, I'm pretty sure this'll never happen.

May 14, 2012Having downloaded ringtones onto my phone I can actually use them as I cant transfer them over to the settings section of my phone. I have tried synching it with my Mac but ringtones does not dome up as an option in my library on iTunes.

The problem is I don't have the ability to create a aac version of the mp3. I have the song at 29 seconds. When I highlight the song and right-click, I don't see "create aac version". Also when I go to advance I also don't see "create aac version". How do you create ringtones in 10.6.1?

Aug 6, 2010...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.

May 29, 2009I used to make compilation tapes with my favorite songs from CDs to play. I'd like to do the same for songs from my music DVDs. However, hours of messing around hasn't got me very far. Anyone know of an easy solution. With CD's I just copied the aiff files into a folder and imported them into Toast and that was it. Extracting files from DVDs isn't so clear cut.

Aug 21, 2009I have transferred my itunes music on to my external HD. The music is there and that is fine. I then deleted the old itunes folder from my actual HD. I have now wanted to access the music on the external HD, and have attempted to select the new music file location on the external HD via the itunes/preferences/advanced window,selected the new file path and it will just not show in itunes!
