Does anyone know if you still can create ringtones for free using iTunes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm so confused by iTunes 9. I can't figure out how to a) identify songs which are eligible for ringtones (remember the little bell column that used to designate ringtone availability) and b) how to create the ringtone once I choose a song.

View 17 Replies View RelatedSync'd my iPhone with iTunes on my mac and lost all imported ringtones. I go to reset the alarm ringtone for example and cannot find any of my imported ringtones. My default imported ringtone for the phone still shows, but if I go to edit it, none of my imported ringtones show up as options. This has happened since the last s/w update for my iPhone (didn't happen before)...

I have a Mac with OS (10.7.3), itunes (10.6.1). I'm trying to create a ringtone using one of my mp3s. I have seen many instructions on the internet on how to do it. The problem is I don't have the ability to create a aac version of the mp3. I have the song at 29 seconds. When I highlight the song and right-click, I don't see "create aac version". Also when I go to advance I also don't see "create aac version". How do you create ringtones in 10.6.1?

I purchased new ringtones from my iPhone 6+ and they don't show up on my phone. I connected the phone to iTunes in attempt to transfer the purchases to my computer. These are the screens that appear.
This first screen shows all of the tones that I have purchased. Some have already synced to my phone from previous purchases. I then selected a ringtone then "ADD TO" button - see next screen..This screen allows me to view what's in my library and those I've purchased. See next screenWhen I add to library, the system does not let me complete the request (next screen)I get this next screen and am stuck.

I killed my old iPhone, and I had about 7 ringtones on it. They are nowhere to be found on my iTunes account. The only place that I can find them is in my purchase history.

I have created ringtones using i tunes. I had no problem creating them, they play well and appear under music in iTunes. One thing that I am unable to solve, is that i can't move the ringtone from music to ringtone tab on the right. I tried dragging it, didn't work. And I also made sure the tones were checked in preferrences.

What format do the files need to be in? How do I add them to my phone? I would really like to make my own ringtones.
View 24 Replies View RelatedAs you can see I have lost the ability to create a ringtone in Garageband, was this a nerf in a update I missed? I'm using Garageband 3.0.5 (104.10) and iTunes 8.1.1 (10). Does anyone else have the same problem? I'm away from another Mac to check its not just a one off anomaly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 13" Macbook Pro has started making an odd, high-pitched noise, kinda like one of those 'mosquito' ringtones. It's pretty quiet so I can only hear it at night when the computer is beside my bed on the nightstand. However it's odd in that, it's always present UNLESS I scroll in Firefox. As long as I'm scrolling in Firefox, the sound stops. It seems to be coming from the left side of the computer.

When importing songs into iTunes, the software by default is set to copy the music files to the iTunes media folder and convert them to .m4a format. This, of course, results in having two copies of each song after the import is done. Before I disable this option I'd like to know what you think are the pros and cons of having this option enabled/disabled.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night I decided to update to iTunes 9.1.1, via the software update prompt. It prompted me to restart my computer (laptop, Windows Vista). I proceeded to do so, but it got hung up in the log off screen for over 15 minutes. I turned off the computer and came back into the desktop. Tried to load iTunes, but it wouldn't load anymore. Tried to reinstall the software update, but now it's searching for a .msi file that I have no idea about? Anyone have any input as how I can resolve this, and have I lost all of my music in iTunes at this point?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmove iTunes folders/library and all my music from the internal hard drive to an external one? I want to start using an external hard disk as my source of music for iTunes. I'm running tiger 10.4.11 still.

I recently upgraded my system HDD to an SSD with a new install of OSX 10.6.4 and mimicked the settings I had on my previous set up to replicate it. however, when for example I was using iTunes to play music the screen saver would come on and a short time later the system would pause iTunes and goes into Sleep mode.
my previous install never did that so I'm not sure if its because of the SSD and it not being mechanical it doesnt recognize it accessing or seeking 'per se' because regardless of unchecking "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" it still does it. here is an image of energy saver settings; btw I had the system plugged into and still went into sleep mode when iTunes was playing and even other media formats such as Video in iTunes or VLC.
I just updated my iTunes but it appears it deleted my library. This sucks because I have spent HOURS upon HOURS sorting it, renaming crooked song titles, finding covers and all that stuff. I used time machine to back up my computer like 5 days ago, but I can't figure out how to use it. I wish I could just select that given day (when I made my last backup) and make it turn everything back to what it was back then. How do I do this exactly? I don't care at all if I have to go back to the old iTunes (obviously they will fix this eventually!) - I just want it to look like it did a few days ago.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought some video and audio from itunes and would like to put them to my portable player, but I am failure, whether they have protection or format require?---- how can I convert or transfer those files?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIve just installed Windows 7 via Bootcamp on a MacBook. When I go into 'Computer' in Windows, I can see my Macintosh HD drive and most of its contents, some pics and other folders etc are all viewable and draggable into Windows. What im thinking now is, can I setup iTunes or even Media Player to see my iTunes library on the Mac side without actually copying it to Windows?
Ive been searching for the Library whilst in Windows but cant find it.
I need space on my computer - video files take up most space and I have a bunch of music videos in my iTunes library. My question is -Â
If I upgrade to iTunes Match - would that mean I can then delete files on my computer in my iTunes library and still access them later?
I transferred all my itunes library to an external hard drive.I had all my songs in itunes and then went to "preferences" and set itunes to look on my external hard drive for my itunes. Then I went to "library" and then "consolidate", and it moved all my library over to my external. I can verify that my songs are all there on my externalHowever, now, itunes won't play any songs of mine. I double click on the song in itunes and it just wont play. There's no error message, there's no exclamation point, it just won't play. Any idea what is goign on? Preferences still shows that my library is directing to the external
