May 8, 2012All of a sudden, I can no longer open pdfs in my browers (Safari and Firefox). I can dowload them to my computer and then open them, but I would like to be able to view them online.

Jun 24, 2012Some time ago my Safari and Firefox sites stopped opening PDF's in 10.6.8. I went to a genius who said there were no viruses, but he couldn't figure out what to do. Today, I upgraded to 10.7.4; but I still have the same problem on my MAcBook Air.  I would hate to have to erase my drive and reinstallnOS 10.6 and 10.7 and all other programs

Sep 25, 2009Good day everyone. A few months ago I asked for help regarding my browsers constant crashing. The problems still exist. I am taking some online courses since I lost my job a few months ago, but it has become impossible to complete these courses because my browsers keep crashing. I tried Safari, Opera, Firefox, and even Netscape, but they all keep crashing. I took advice from one of the people who responded. That person suggested that I created a New Account with Safari alone as my browser, but Safari also crashed with that new account. What else can I do? I paid for these online courses but I cannot keep my browsers open long enough to even finish the first session.

May 4, 2012I had some updates for my Macbook Pro (snow leopard- up to date) and for some reason now I can't open pdfs on the web on either safari or firefox. If I download them it works, but I can't view them on the acutal browser anymore. When I open a website that is the link to the pdf it just pulls up a black page- that's it, you refresh it refreshes the same thing. I reinstalled Adobe reader (I use Preview though) and still nothing. I don't kow *** is going on.

Open With [choose...] or Save file?In Safari, it just automatically downloads the picture to the default download location and then auto opens it with Preview.This is so annoying! Oct 15, 2007I have just copied a DVD project from my G5 Powermac to G4 iBook over my Airport network. The project does not open on the iBook (I think because the project was made on iDVD v6.03, and the iBook runs, or at least ran an earlier version.) I am trying to upgrade to 6.03 but so far to no effect. Now the project will no longer open on the G5 as it puts up the following message - Project locked by other user. The project wotton is locked by the user alexrice (user ID 501): 2007-10-15 14:31:14 +0100.
The project can't be opened at this time. - I have quit iDVD on the iBook and shut it down. The user id 'alexrice' is the previous owner of the iBook. Due to pressure of work, and some useful software still on the iBook, I had not got around to reformatting the harddrive and giving it a new identity. How can I regain control of my project on the G5?

I did a clean install of the Lion OS, and began to selectively reinstall application programs. I inserted the install disc for my Logic Studio Application, an application which was not cheap, and I am met with the above message when I try to install the software. (Actually, "you can't open the application LogicStudio.mpkg because powerpc applications are no longer supported")Under the system requirements, I find my machine within the guidelines. Also, this software worked fine on this mac machine when I was running the Leopard OS. What is "PC" about my Dual Intel processors?
