I have been using the downloadable trial version of iWork and have just bought a copy. Am I right in thinking that if you buy a disc rather than a serial number you have to install it and there is no serial number to input on the box? If this is the case do I need to uninstall the trial version before installing the disc copy?

I installed a trial of iWork 09 yesterday to get a feel for it, liked it so went out today and purchased the box from my local Apple Store. I know about the whole not needing a serial number now however it is asking me for one since the install on all three applications. I removed the trial and all evidence of it and restarted my macbook before installing the box.

I can't ssh to my mac anymore, it returns "Permission denied (publickey, password, keyboard-interactive)" although I'm sure I'm entering the right password. I tried to ssh locally too (ssh myusername@localhost), same result. It used to work and I don't remember fiddling with anything close to that. Maybe a system update? Running 10.5.8.

I set it up for to manually put music and vidoes onto the phone. It says my phone is hooked to another itunes account and for me to do this it would have to erase everything on my phone right now. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am aware that when you purchase a new Mac you have to deauthorise your old mac and authorise your new one to play your iTunes library. When you can't do this Apple allow you to do this up to a maximum of 5 times. My question is that I suffered a catastrophic hard drive failure on my last two macs and therefore could not deauthorise those macs. I have now reached the maximum five times you can authorise your mac but find this unfair as at least two of those had to be used as a result of hardware failure. If my current mac fails I think I lose my library altogether as although it's backed up I can't authorise the music on any new macs. Am I right about this and is there any way I could get apple to take the hardware failures into consideration? I've paid for all of my content so why can't I continue to use it?

I am having trouble authorising my Mac Air to my Itunes account. I found a discussion explaining how to go go into 'Terminal', then adding a command. I have followed all those appropriate steps and when I try to enter my 'Password' when asked, my keyboard doesn't work. No key press can be activated at all when trying to enter my password in 'Terminal. And I am in the 'Administrator' user.

I tossed the Word Plist file and that did not work.
I have run Virus Barrier X5 and found a about 10 files with Virus 'W97M/Pinky.B' "Quarantened" them and still have the problem.
The problem started -- I think -- when I was doing heavy editing between Numbers and Word. But I don't think it is related (though who knows at this point). Without these programs I'm rendered pretty useless.

I need to update iWork on my Mac cos iWork 08 docs don't work on my new iPad. But iWork 09 is about 18 months old now so surely will be updated soon. Would anyone who is learned in the product cycle of Mac apps care to hazard an educated guess on an update?

I frequently encounter this totally blocking problem when attempting to authorize changes to Certificate Trust Settings.
This occurs when A dialog is presented when app such as Mail encounters a certificate whose identity is unknown.You choose to show details and select the option to "Always trust (server) when connecting to…"Click ConnectA System authorization dialog appears and immediately hangsin Activity Monitor, "SecurityAgent" is shown as not responding.Â
At this point there is no legitimate way to shut down or restart the Mac other than forcing a power down, since (presumably) SecurityAgent is involved in the normal shutdown process.Â
After restarting, when the process happens again, I am able to successfully authorize the certificate. It only occurs if the computer has been up and running for a while (hours? days?)Â

Is there any talk of an update of iwork '08 during Macworld '09? I am a switcher to Mac as of last month and I really like pages instead of word. I've been using a trial version and I'm going to buy it, but I was wondering if I should stick it out by using google docs in the event that they release iwork '09. View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I used the iWork '09 trial for 30 days now and now I have a box version and I want to simply use the buy function from the trial to upgrade to the full non-trial version. It has: Quote: If you've purchased an iWork '09 box, you'll find the serial number on the Installing iWork '09 booklet. There's only one problem, there's no serial number on the booklet! How do I install using the buy function or do I have to install the full iWork suite again on my computer? Seems kind of silly. If so, do I need to then uninstalling one of my versions of iWork '09? And if so, which one? How do I tell the difference at that point?
Some of you might be wondering and about to comment on the fact that I should have just bought the online version and saved the hassle. The reason why I bought the box is because I could get it for $39 at my girlfriend's campus computer store.
I know this probably has been answered elsewhere on this forum...but I can't find it. I already own iWorks 08. Is there enough of a difference/improvement between 08 and the 09 that would make it worth getting (I am a cheap Presbyterian you know)? From what I have read it seems that most really love the 09 Keynote.

In order to install Windows 7 via bootcamp, do you have to use the full version of windows or can you use the upgrade disc to install? I figured I should ask before buying another license as I have an upgrade version of Windows 7 Pro that I don't use. I do own previous versions of Windows (all of them....just like I do Mac OS).

after a lot of testing we have managed to clear everything around the topic of flashing stock PC X1900XT/512Mb (256Mb is NOT working!!) with MacPro EFI ROM. Thank you all guys at Strangedogs! It WORKS prefectlly! Ofcourse flashing card with MacPro EFI rom reenders card useless in regular PC, you have to flash it back with original bios to make it work in PC again.
