Intel Mac :: Keeps Losing Internet Connection Every 5 Minutes Or So?

Jun 11, 2012

Why does my Mac keep losing internet connection every 5 minutes - I end up having to turn wifi OFF and ON again each time.

As all other devices in the house connect seamlessly to the wireless router, the problem is only with my MAC desktop.

Hardware :: Magic Mouse Constantly Losing Connection

Jun 4, 2010

I've had my iMac 27" i7 since November '09 and have had no real problems with the magic mouse until today. It is constantly losing it's connection taking seconds to sometimes minutes to finally re-connect. It's happening while the mouse is idle or while I'm using it (it happened right after I clicked to start this thread in fact!)

Intel Mac :: Constantly Losing WiFi Randomly While Working

Apr 19, 2012

I am running an imac 24-inch Mid 2007 on 10.7.3. Always do the updates and everything seems ok. I have been having problems with connecting, reconnecting after sleep and just losing my connection in the middle of being on wifi. I have replaced my wireless router, I have deleted all previous wifi networks. I have also renewed my dhcp license. Nothing works. To reconnect, I have to continuously go to network preferences, assist me, diagnostics, then continue with the assist me and choose my network and it then reconnects. This is not just waking from sleep. Sometimes just randomly while working on the computer. I have†read some things about equipment plugged in and I have an ATT micro cell plugged into 1 ethernet jack in my wireless router/modem, I also have a bluetooth mouse, a printer plugged in USB and a Lacie HD using Time machine.

OS X :: Internet Constantly Drops And The Browser Get Stuck Trying To Find A Connection

Sep 3, 2009

getting network issues with Snow Leopard on their macbook air? I bought the family pack and installed it on my MBP and black Macbook but the macbook air has been acting weird since the upgrade. The internet constantly drops and the browser simply get stuck trying to find a connection, other apps that require internet are also not responding. Usually after a few quits and restarts of the application the internet would come back normal but then later it would drop again. I know its specific to the Air because I dont get issues with the Pro or regular Macbook running right next to the machine. I have tried deleting the WPA2 account and readding it but the problem still shows up frequently. Using the Eithernet USB adaptor doesnt help either

Intel Mac :: Constantly Drops Wifi Connection?

May 28, 2012

My imac constantly drops my wifi connection. Sometimes it'll last 5 minutes, other times less than a minute. And, yet other times, it'll go on for 30 minutes. I've tried deleting the network and the adding it again, reset router, changed channels on the router and countless other solutions with no success. Sometimes, it does not even find my wireless network! My ipad, my wife's macbook pro and my mac air all seem fine on the network and do not drop the signal. What is going on? Could it be my wireless card? Is there any easy way to check if I have a faulty wireless card?

MacBook Pro :: Airport On Brand New 13" - Wireless Connection Losing It's Connection

Jan 26, 2010

I recently purchased (as in days ago) a refurbished 13" Macbook Pro. I just noticed today that my wireless connection on my Macbook Pro has been losing it's connection about every other 2-3 minutes. I was on iChat with a buddy this morning, and I must have been disconnected and then reconnected about 8 times in 20 minutes. I first thought it must have been a problem with iChat. That said, I have sat here looking at my screen for the past ten minutes, and I have seen the Airport wireless indicator disconnect and then reconnect again at least three times in the past ten minutes.

I have AT&T U-Verse Service, and I am forced to use their provided 2WIRE router. That said, I have had no problems with any other device that uses the wireless connection, from my iPhone to my PS3. I work from home and have my HP laptop literally sitting right next to my Macbook, and it has not disconnected once from the same wireless connection, whereas my Macbook has literally disconnected at least 20 times.

MacBook Pro :: Internet Painfully Slow Web Surfing

Jul 5, 2010

I got my first macbook pro about a month and a half ago, and everything has been working flawlessly. Recently however I have been experiencing extremely slow internet. It hasn't been a problem until recently when I noticed extremely slow web surfing. The download speeds seem to fine, but surfing the net is painful. I have firefox along with safari and both are equally slow. It is faster to surf some sites using my phones 3g service then my wireless internet. I have looked at mroogle and have tried some of the solutions on there and none of them seemed to work. I am using a linksys E1000 router and my airport has full bars. I don't know how run a speed test so I am not sure what my internet speeds are. I am not the best with computers, so if the solution is complex

Mac Pro :: Its Constantly Losing Wireless Connectivity?

Mar 13, 2012

I have a PC laptop which also uses the wireless and has never had a problem. My Mac Pro loses access to the net every few minutes or so. I usually follow a sequence of "Turn AirPort Off" / "Turn Airport On" to cycle the connection, and this works but only for a temporary solution until it drops out a few minutes later.also link to pic here..[URL] It always shows full bars even though in the activity monitor it just flatlines or flutters near 0kB/sec. Like many others, my connection drops although the wireless signal icon remains full. I've noticed that as long as my system doesn't idle (ie - if I'm downloading something, or on a webpage which is always sending or recieving data) the wireless connection seems alright. But if I am on a webpage (for instance, this Apple website which is idle and not sending or recieving data) for a few minutes or am away from the computer for 5 minutes, the connectivity dies and I cant access the net. I then follow a sequence of "Turn AirPort Off" / "Turn Airport On" to cycle the connection, and this works but only for a temporary solution until it drops out a few minutes later. Also, can I ask that NO ONE suggest that I hook my computer up via the ethernet cable as there is no access points upstairs and I'm not going to pay a tonne of money to get one installed when I paid a tonne of money for my "AirPort Extreme" so I didnt have to (which was just over 2 years ago).

Its been a constant problem for the last 12 months and the short-fix of "Turn AirPort Off" / "Turn Airport On" to cycle the connection has driven me to madness (especially when I write a lot of information into a site for example this, and after 15 minutes I click the next button or send and dont realise the net is no longer connected and I LOOSE EVERYTHING I'VE JUST TYPED. It's happened 1000's of times.

Mac Pro :: USB Ports Constantly Losing Power?

Mar 22, 2012

Ive got a 2008 Mac Pro and recently Ive been experiencing some issues with its USB ports. The front usb ports have a USB antenna connected and some time later, it just loses power and I have to disconnect it and connect it  in order to make it work again. Besides that, Ive got a  USB hub connected in one of the back ports. In it, is my camera and my keyboard. After some time, it just loses power. Not at the same time than the usb antenna, but in less that an hour I have to repeat the process 2-3 times. Worth to note, that in the two back usb ports left, Ive got an external hard drive in each and I dont have problems, there are always seen in the finder.

Intel Mac :: Internet Connection Keeps Dropping Out

Jul 6, 2012

I have an iMac (without an Airport Base).† It is connected to a Sky router through an Ethernet cable but still with wireless capabilities. The internet connection keeps dropping out at regular intervals throughout the day to the point that my partner may just throw it out the window! The router lights still show it is connected as does the wifi signal at the top of the screen. Our iPhones still work even when the Mac drops off.
