I want to change my Apple ID email to my iCloud adress, the @me.com. But appearantly that is not possible yet. Is it just me or is there a way to do this? Or do I just have to wait until they realize and fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWriting this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page.The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.

Recently started getting 4 to 5 duplicate emails from AOL when I sign in thru the Mac Mail application. It doesn't occur in Mail with my Comcast email account. Each sign in adds another duplication going back several months in the mail history. Am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an iMac.

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

Started my system this morning and MobileMe seems to have deleted large quantities of my emails, including several most recent ones that I had yet to reply to. I thought this had happened before, but blamed my editing of email accounts when MobileMe became active. But this is definite, they were there last night and gone now. Not what I expect from an email service.

Per their chat person, they do not have a way to transfer my mobile me emails to my new comcast account. ( If the mobile me account was not expiring, I could link the two. )
So, what is the best way to still be able to access my old emails?
I thought of backing up my mobile me emails, but the apple back up will still be "going away" from what I understand. Or can I save that backup copy to my mac and still access it somehow?

Every time I restart I have to sign in to apple id for every app! Since upgrading to Mavericks, every time I restart my MacBook (Mid 2010) or open any Apple software i.e. iTunes etc, I'm prompted (3 or 4 times per application) to sign in to my AppleID account.
I then get a prompt for all other Apple software i.e. iBooks, Mail, iPhoto & iMessage etc etc regardless of which app I initially opened. This results in inputting my AppleID upto 20-30 times for every restart. I thought the problem might rectify when I upgraded to Yosemite but it still happens.
I've tried running Onyx and clearing all the caches etc, SMART status checked, HDD no errors...I have reset my Apple ID and used it to sign in via Macbook, iPhone etc.MacBook (Mid 2010) Yosemite 10.10.1

Is there some security phenomenon that will not allow me to copy and paste my PW into the slot/space for Password, when I try and signin to Apple forums. The allocated space where I would normally paste my PW does not show anything being pasted,, and I have also used Paste in the menu area , and even tried dragging my PW into this area, to no avail. Of course, I can type it in manually,, however, my PW is strong,, and generated, and find it very arduous to type in.Perhaps a 10.7 feature?

my 2006 macbook has not been able to start. First it didn't even have the chime, then I read through some threads in this forum and figured out that one of my RAMs was not properly put in. I fixed that, now I get the chime, the apple sign, and a spinning wheel and I am stuck there forever.
I tried:
resetting PRAM, didn't help.
start from safe boot, still stuck with apple sign and spinning wheel.
boot from installation CD by holding either the "C" or "D" key, it would not start from the CD.
Curiously, I can start it in Windows and I am using Windows right now. Some threads said that it could be a hard drive problem, but if I am using Windows, does it mean that my hard drive is fine?
I've already spent 800+ fixing the logic board in 2008 b/c of a water spill and really don't want to spend any meaningful amount of money to fix this 1000 bucks or so laptop. If any hardware is in jeopardy, I'd rather just throw it away. However, I would like to at least be able to start it in Mac OS once so that I can back up my documents.
