View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to change my Apple ID email to my iCloud adress, the @me.com. But appearantly that is not possible yet. Is it just me or is there a way to do this? Or do I just have to wait until they realize and fix it?

Writing this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page. The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.

Every time I restart I have to sign in to apple id for every app! Since upgrading to Mavericks, every time I restart my MacBook (Mid 2010) or open any Apple software i.e. iTunes etc, I'm prompted (3 or 4 times per application) to sign in to my AppleID account.
I then get a prompt for all other Apple software i.e. iBooks, Mail, iPhoto & iMessage etc etc regardless of which app I initially opened. This results in inputting my AppleID upto 20-30 times for every restart. I thought the problem might rectify when I upgraded to Yosemite but it still happens.
I've tried running Onyx and clearing all the caches etc, SMART status checked, HDD no errors...I have reset my Apple ID and used it to sign in via Macbook, iPhone etc.MacBook (Mid 2010) Yosemite 10.10.1

Is there some security phenomenon that will not allow me to copy and paste my PW into the slot/space for Password, when I try and signin to Apple forums. The allocated space where I would normally paste my PW does not show anything being pasted,, and I have also used Paste in the menu area , and even tried dragging my PW into this area, to no avail. Of course, I can type it in manually,, however, my PW is strong,, and generated, and find it very arduous to type in.Perhaps a 10.7 feature?

I've just bought a new iMac. Was very surprised, when I saw, that I can't write my Apple ID on the welcome screen. I can type letters, but when I try to write the "@" symbol, it just makes a loud short sound.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to log into my iCloud console on my mac (OSX Lion 10.7.4) - its giving error: 'unrecognized apple ID or password' and You can't sign in at this time'. Incredibly though, I can log into my iPhone, the iCloud's website and iTunes as well, using the same apple ID. I would like to keep my Mac, iPhone and iPad in sync with the iCloud system.

Ok lately My Mac OS X has crashed on me and I am now stuck on my windows bootcamp partition.
My CD drive is broken so I bought a new external combo drive which works fine! When i go to boot the cd It loads up fine on the alt/option screen however when it goes to the loading the cd (the apple sign) it stays there for a couple of minutes (no loading wheel) and then turns into a prohibition sign!My mac drive before this was formatted as it was faulty however it is still of the MAC format! (HSF or something)

my 2006 macbook has not been able to start. First it didn't even have the chime, then I read through some threads in this forum and figured out that one of my RAMs was not properly put in. I fixed that, now I get the chime, the apple sign, and a spinning wheel and I am stuck there forever.
I tried:
resetting PRAM, didn't help.
start from safe boot, still stuck with apple sign and spinning wheel.
boot from installation CD by holding either the "C" or "D" key, it would not start from the CD.
Curiously, I can start it in Windows and I am using Windows right now. Some threads said that it could be a hard drive problem, but if I am using Windows, does it mean that my hard drive is fine?
I've already spent 800+ fixing the logic board in 2008 b/c of a water spill and really don't want to spend any meaningful amount of money to fix this 1000 bucks or so laptop. If any hardware is in jeopardy, I'd rather just throw it away. However, I would like to at least be able to start it in Mac OS once so that I can back up my documents.
As of Monday 11th October 2010 Mac Messenger just stopped working on my iMac. I haven't added any new programs, messed with any setting or anything. My password is 100% correct and I am most definitely connected to the internet. All I get it the below pop up that states
"Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not responding. The service is not available or you may not be connected to the internet"

I just received my new Mac pro at work and is trying to install Mountain Lion as the OS instead of Mavericks but it seems impossible. Every time I try to boot up on a bootable 10.8 installation drive I get the no entry sign. I even cloned my old MacPro and tried to boot from the external drive, I still get the no entry sign.
I tried booting from a thunderbolt, USB and even super drive, with no luck.
I need to install 10.8 because Mavericks doesn't work with Active Directory in my company, it just hangs the system every time, we've tried many different ways to fix this but it just seems to get worst.
Any way I can downgrade a 2013 Mac Pro to 10.8?
