So I am planning to start riding my motorcycle to class, and I need to bring my macbook. While I do have several backpacks that can carry it, I am terrified of ruining it if I were to wreck the bike.

I have a very slight warp to the bottom pan of my MBP. So slight as to be unnoticeable save for one rather obvious result: the part that goes over the top of the optical drive slot has come un-glued/fastened/riveted to the frame behind.
I want to secure it back against the frame and tape seems the best option. The pressure on the flange (part over the slot) is not great - it can easily be pressed in and will hold for a second or two - but will not hold with just regular double stick.
Ok so i'm looking for somewhere to clip an antistatic wristband on my macbook while i just change the RAM
1) Is it really necessary to take this precaution?
2) Where can i find bare, unpainted metal to clip it to?
I am wanting to get a case to go around the outside of my powerbook mainly to protect the aluminum case from scratches, Are there any cases for the powerbook? I have seen a few for macbook but nothing for powerbooks.

I throw the MBA into whatever magazine I'm currently into, and out the door I go. Funny thing is, when it's under your arm being carried in a newspaper or a magazine, most people don't even notice it.
I was wondering if you all knew where I can find an affordable travel case for the 27inch iMac?I saw one for $200 (http://www.powermax.com/parts/show/a-lta-90059) which was way over my budget, but really just curious with what some of you use and what's out there.

Anybody know where I might find some kind of a cover for the palm rests etc? I'm using an external mouse / keyboard at the moment.
It's hard trying to track down the cause of the allergy but most of my time is spent on the laptop so...
Longtime lurker and future MBP Arrandale owner (feels good to say it out loud). This will be my first MBP, but I got a small question about the cases/sleeves which is being sold by the Apple store. If the MBP comes out this week, will the current cases/sleeves fit the (new) MBP exactly? I want to buy a case or sleeve.

I am curious because I have a small little spot that said area and cannot get it clean.While it may be a little dink, I may invest in some kind of protector if word is that others are seeing any blemishes.
has anyone had tiny cracks in the metal of the unibodies? I have a macbook pro with an invisible shield on it and I have noticed what looks to be a tiny crack about a cm in length. When I rub back and forth on the invisible shield it goes away as is the chemical used to hold on the shield fills it in?

I need a solution of one or two multibay cases that allows me to solve the problem not spending much money, I do not need a raid arrangemente and it can be any connection type except esata.

I know people have said that hard cases have made it even worse from debris getting in between the outer Macbook casing and the hard case but I was wondering if there was something special, either about the new aluminum Macbooks or the See Thru satin, that made this not happen.

But wondered how it looks.. Is it glossy like stainless steel or brushed as the aluminium used on iPad and MacBook Pros? How dark is it?
There has been alot talking about a Carbon Fibre MBA, as it would take some of the weight - could this be it in stead?

All of the 15in cases I have seen in my time shopping online force the power cord to run towards the keyboard vs run to the back and in doing so, blocks the ethernet port. Are there any that do not exhibit this attribute?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a proud (albeit frustrated) owner of an early 2011 Macbook Pro 15" with the i7 2.2GHz and the ATI 6750 HD.I am running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) with the latest updates as of June 12 2012. I have been a big Macbook fan ever since my 2007 white core2duo macbook, but have been experiencing a problem with the latest beast.My problem is, as the title states, crashing upon sleep. The laptop will randomly crash when in use at times, though I thought that problem was a bit too vague to post about here. However, the crashing on sleep issue pretty specific.Basically, to reproduce my problem, all I have to is let my Mac fall asleep with the lid open. After a couple minutes of being asleep, it will either wake up or stay asleep with the activity light steady and dim. The ratio of crash to not crash seems to be roughly 7 to 3. The only way I have been able to fix the issue is to perform a hard shutdown and reboot. Upon rebooting I get an error report, but I'm not sure if that is related to the crash, or just the fact that I shut the computer down the hard way.
I heard that the 6750s sometimes have issues and crash a lot. Should I take this sucker in before my warranty expires and get it looked at?when I boot into Windows 7 via bootcamp, I semi-frequently get a crash when the screen looks fuzzy for a split second right before it reboots.This happens randomly, although I have noticed it happening sometimes when closing a 3D intense program (read: game).But it has never crashed during the 3D intensity.This is only a post-script becuase it could just be the fact that I'm using Windows on a Mac that is causing it to fuss.

So many users on here complain about the Aqua interface and want Marble. Now I never got to use anything prior to Leopard, this perhaps could explain why, apart from a quick go on my teachers iMac which had Tiger. I for one love the Aqua interface as well as the old Pinstripes used in earlier versions of Mac OS X, I have a thing for stripes as well as pre-leopard OS X.
Now what I want is an update from users on GUI applications out there, all the older threads will be out of date now. So let me know what's going on with them. Does anyone know where the files for GUI are kept in Snow Leopard or Leopard, I'm wondering if you can almost do a transplant of the files from Tiger into Snow Leopard? If there is also anyone who can make a Pinstripe theme for the dock to be used in DockDoctor could you post the files? I've added a screenshot from 10.0 to just remind anyone of the style.
I've also added a poll to get some real data on how MacRumors feels about Aqua.
I would like to skin my software with a brushed aluminum look.
Is this an option with OSX?

The metal flap over the dvd drive won't close on my Mac Pro.Very annoying,dust will kill.
