View 2 RepliesIt was just too fitting with this month's issue of wired to not show everyone how I carry my MBA most of the time when I'm 'off the clock'.
I throw the MBA into whatever magazine I'm currently into, and out the door I go. Funny thing is, when it's under your arm being carried in a newspaper or a magazine, most people don't even notice it.
I was wondering if you all knew where I can find an affordable travel case for the 27inch iMac?I saw one for $200 (http://www.powermax.com/parts/show/a-lta-90059) which was way over my budget, but really just curious with what some of you use and what's out there.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is only about 3 weeks old, and I notice that the gap on the right side is bigger than the left side when I close my computer's (15" 2.8GHz MBP) lid. I am guessing the magnet on the right is not as strong on the left side. Pics below..
I know a few guys have had problems with the lid opening when the laptop is vertical (due to weak magnets).. I dont want it to get to that stage. Right now it barely just holds on.
2nd problem is with my power brick. There is a definate gap between the socket and the brick itself. is this normal? Again pics below..
So I am planning to start riding my motorcycle to class, and I need to bring my macbook. While I do have several backpacks that can carry it, I am terrified of ruining it if I were to wreck the bike.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wanting to know how hard it is to change top and bottom case and keyboard area? I would like to know that if anything was to happen to my soon to have macbook I could change it. Also this on the older macbooks. And if I have Apple to change it how much would it cost? And yes I know that they should replace keyboard case area for free because of the defunct cracking issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if the PB 15.4 Aluminum case is exchangeable with the Macbook Pro 15.4 case? I have a 1.6Ghz Powerbook which has a few dents in the front but I don't see any of these cases for sale on Ebay, but I do see Macbook Pro cases. It's really a nasty cosmetic issue I'd like to resolve and then sell it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on restoring a Time Machine backup from Leopard to a clean installation of Snow Leopard. The only problem I'm facing is that the Leopard backup is on a case-sensitive drive (and the Snow Leopard drive is set up, by default, as case-ignorant).
I have scoured the Web the last two days and have not found a definitive answer to my question: Is there a way to transfer the data from the Time Machine backup on the case-sensitive drive to the case-ignorant Snow Leopard drive?
Yesterday I ran across a tutorial explaining how this might be accomplished using SuperDuper! but a commenter explained that Disk Utility could be used and was much easier.
I tried the Disk Utility method but it didn't work, and I ran out of time to give the SuperDuper! option a try. Does anyone know if it, or even Carbon Copy Cloner, might solve my problem?
I saw a link a while back of a guy who converted an old G5 case into a server, any idea how to do this?
Or does someone know of the link to see his server, or one like it?
Soon i will be getting a Mac(i think) and was wondering about a case. Since i want a Macbook Pro with the Unibody Housing i want it to be safe. Now i can't decide if i want a case or a Sleeve. Now the Case might have heat issues even with the vents that are on the case. The sleeve won't have that issue but will it be more prone to scratching the Macbook it self? Or should i go no case and just sorta deal with the scratches. There is a Price difference between the Sleeve and the Case. About $20 Cdn more for the Case.

Is it possible to get a MBP with transparent case? It would be cool to see the parts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone using anything decent or just chucking it in your bag and hoping it doesn't get scratched/dropped?
Currently using a modded leather square CD storage thingie, but it's a bit thick, kind of defeats the purpose. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fixed USB cable which gets snagged.
Strange that the usual suspects (Tucano etc.) haven't made a custom case for this peripheral.
I recently picked up a MacBook Air for a great price. The only problem is that it was dropped and has significant denting and disfiguring to the aluminum case that is behind the screen with the glowing Apple logo. I got a quote of $650 from the Apple store to send it out for repair. That is way beyond what I am willing to spend for cosmetic damage. I started searching and found the bottom of the case as well as the top of the case and keyboard but have had no luck finding a replacement for the backing of the screen. Dies anyone know where I can pick one up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat features are most important to you guys in purchasing a case or sleeve for your MacBook Pro's?
We are currently in the design, development and prototyping stages or creating sleeves specifically for the MacBook Pro line and what to know what exactly it is that you guys, as consumers are looking for.
One thing we're looking to do, is NOT utilize a zipper - or metal of any type. As users ourselves, we've experience scratched cases first hand, not traveling that route.
We're looking to launch, using some fantastic full-grain leathers that we've been fortunate enough to source given our vast experience in the footwear & apparel materials industry. I think you'd find the quality to equal that of some "designer" hand bag companies - with the added costs.
So.......lets have it.....what do you guys like.....and just as important - what do you not like?
when do you think the mbp will get a case redesign and what will it be? will apple remove the optical drive?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI wanna buy a Hardshell Case for my Macbook, anyone tried one?
My MacBook Air has had a annoying creaking noise since shortly after it's purchase. I have had it for approximately two months and it continues to get worse. In goggling the internet I discovered I am not the only one suffering this problem. Has anyone had any success in redding their MBA of this problem permanently?
Info:
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I am going on a gig for a company that has some systems that runs on Windows, I only have 128 GB on my computer, and with a few movies, pictures, Bento, MS Office, and a few utilities I only have 44 GBs available, I am afraid that if I install Parallels and Windows this computer will have almost no space for future files. Any idea of how much Parallels and Windows will occupy in terms of disk size? Any ideas of how to streamline OSX in order to leave more space available. I have used the search function, but I haven't found too many answers there.

Both look reasonably priced, and the first link looks simliar to the one that Apple sells.
Just looking for opinions or reviews.
Recommendations? Something designed for the 11" not a generic one-fit-all case?
