Is there a way to install Windows on Bootcamp without it requiring you to enter the serial manually?

First off, let me explain the position I am in. I have the newest 13in MacBook with a 2.4Ghz hard drive. I installed Windows Vista on it recently after I got it. Many times while using Vista, all audio would stop and be replaced with crackling sounds. This would continue until I restarted. I tried going to Dell, downloading drivers for the Broadcom 802.11n WiFi Adapters and installing those, but that caused a worse problem. Windows can no longer find any networks, and when I select the Broadcom WiFi Adapters in Device Manager, it says "This device cannot start." and says it's Code 10 or something.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a MBP just last month, the battery capacity has decreased to 97%.
However, recently, when I turn my MBP on and I check Coconut Battery, the battery capacity remains at 97% but my battery charge is only at 20%. And I kind of leave my MBP plugged in all the time usually at 100% charge, I have no idea why the battery charge keeps dropping and if this is normal.
As in after I charge it up, turn it off overnight, turn it on the next morning, the battery charge is only 20% and it doesn't charge until I unplug it and plug it in again.
Why does my computer keep asking for my keychain password everytime I log in?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I can do is only hold the Option(alt) key at the beginning of the boot. But I can find the Mac OS X system in the Windows system. Also the Windows part in the disk tool is showing diskO3 and I can't fix it. When I try to fix it, it says try to buck up data as much as I can. so what should I do. View 19 Replies View RelatedTonight I've been transfering all my files over from my old MacBook and everytime I try to connect my IPhone 3GS by USB to my Mac a message comes up straight away saying "A device conected to your computer is drawing too much power, apple has disconected this device to prevent damage occuring to your computer"
I have tried to connect my phone numerous times while it has been conected to the power cord and also running on battery.
It also took my new Mac a good half an hour to recognise my external hard drive was connected and let me use it..
I have had this problem once or twice with the same IPhone and my old mac so im thinking it may be a problem with my phone considering it is 2 years old now?
But then again, my old mac that is nearly 4 can still connect to my phone when my new MBP can't.

I have a macpro with OSX on one drive and windows 7 on a partition of another drive. Both systems work fine and I boot into windows by holding the option key down. What is odd is if I go to the system preferences startup disk my windows install does not show up. I did move my windows partition a while ago to a new drive. I used bootcamp to create the partition and winclone to move the data. It's not a big deal not having the option in the preference pain but would be nice. If I am in windows and go to the bootcamp control panel both OS X and Windows are there.
View 3 Replies View Relatedim using boot camp for windows 7 and recently started to use vmware and ever since then the start up time is horribly long when before it was very fast. it takes a long time to get to the log in screen and then when i get to the desktop it stays black for a while longer. its not the worst thing in the world and a small price to pay to be able to run my boot camp partition alongside os x but i just want to make sure vmware is the culprit because if it isn't i might need to do some more digging to find the real problem.
btw im talking about starting windows through boot camp not through vmware.
I got the 64bit version of windows 7 from my the Microsoft Acedmic Alliance program. I downloaded it on my parents windows machine burned the .iso with nero and I went throught the boot camp assistant it asked me to put in the disk. the computer rebooted and then it was a black screen. The
The disk is a bootable disk because I used the same disk to install it on my parents windows laptop.
How do I get the disk to boot on my mac?

Just heard about the new support for Windows 7 yesterday.
I have a copy of Windows 7 Pro x64 (Downloaded an ISO from DigitalRiver and burned to a DVD. I paid for the license back in october. it was a digital download.)
I was going to download the 3.1 bootcamp update, but saw it was an exe which I guess means I have to install it in Windows after I install the OS?
Followed all the instructions listed here:
[URL]
Everything seems to install fine, it goes through the whole process and then restarts which leaves me with a black screen ever after 30 mins.
I tried doing the whole process over again from the beginning while I went to the store. Came back and it appeared the computer was sleeping so I clicked the magic mouse and the computer awoke with a black screen still.
(Found this interesting because doesn't that mean the bluetooth is working fine?)
I am at a loss guys? What should I do to get Windows 7 Pro x64 working on my iMac?
P.S. this is the imac I have:
27-inch: 3.06GHz, ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics with 256MB, 4GB RAM
I dont want my imac to ask me for my username and password everytime I turn on my imac, what can I do??
And also, I noticed that everytime I open mail.app, it asks me for my password again!.. what can I do to not be asked for my username and password??
On my MBPro Lion, each time I start-up, there is a message for me that SafariIDVDclient wants to use the login keychain and requires me to enter my password. Is there a way I can enter the pasword once without entering each time I start-up and if so, where can I do so? Also, I receive a second message saying that iPhotoStreamAgent wants to use login keychain and requires me to enter my password for that as well as for the SafariiDVDclient. Is there a place where I can enter the oasswird for the iPhotoStreamAgent without doing so each time?

When I start my macbook If I don't hold the options key it goes straight to an apple than circle with line through it. If I hold options key I get two hard drives one that says just hard drive one that says windows. Windows seems to work fine other than the missing drivers for the Ethernet, wireless airport, and a few others. I have tried everything. I for some reason cannot get to the mac side. It doesn't even show up and nothing relating to bootcamp shows up. I split the partitions 35G to windows the rest to "mac" side. I would be just as happy with installing the drivers if I could get them installed I know very little about Mac's and should have left well enough alone.

I've just tried following this tutorial. Code: [URL]. After entering the Terminal command I restarted the dock using. Code: killall Dock. And apparently that was supposed to restart the dock, however it's killed mine and it will now not start at all. Any ideas on a Terminal command or other way(s) I can get my dock to show again?
View 12 Replies View RelatedForgive me for not knowing the proper terminology. I have a MacBook Pro running the latest Snow Leopard. I am the only user on my laptop. When I turn on my laptop, it just starts up and I am in. No login. But I recently decided that I should increase my security a little by having the OS prompt me for my password upon waking up from sleep/screensaver. Is there any way to customize the little, basic window that appears where I enter my password? Most forum entries discuss the login window, but I don't think that's what this is called. I'm not really logging in - just unlocking it. I'd like to be able to customize the appearance of the window, the text, maybe make sounds if the wrong password is entered, etc. Main reason for this is for security purposes. If someone tries to use my laptop while it's sitting on my desk at work, I'd like to know (and would like him/her to know I know). Maybe hear it - maybe see some message.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd switched to Firefox a year or two ago from Safari after some frustration with Safari's bugs...but since I'd updated to Firefox 3.0.7 it has become ridiculously slow. Here's a typical scenario: Opening Firefox is no problem. Google page appears in a jiffy. But as soon as I clear the address bar and attempt to type in a URL, the beachball comes and Firefox literally freezes for a few minutes, even making it hard for me to switch to any other app that's open. I attempt to type in a complete URL regardless, and it takes Firefox forever to receive the input. The only way I can describe it is like the computer was typing in super-slow motion.
On top of that, I can hear this intermittent "grind/whir" sound of the processor while it lags, I suppose struggling to process the input. BTW, if I clicked on any of the bookmarked pages in the bar beneath the addy bar, it goes directly to them w/o problem. It's only when I attempt to type anything in the address bar that the lag occurs. This has become a total frustration of mine, especially now that I'm doing web design and need Firefox's Firebug add-on to identify CSS elements on the fly in the midst of tight deadlines. In the meantime, Safari works, but it doesn't have that feature.
How can I bypass entering my password at start-up and each time I change some setting or install software. I do not need to do this constantly on my G4 running Tiger.

I have a late-2011 mac mini that quit entering sleep mode a few days ago. It won't sleep using the Energy Saver Preference Pane, either with or without the assistance of Please Sleep. It won't sleep using any keyboard command or selecting Sleep from the Apple menu. I've tried turning Bluetooth off, resetting the SMC, and resetting the PRAM all without effect. (Before this, I also tried repairing permissions and running Disk Warrior.)
