I don't have an icon on desktop indicating a disk is in CD slot. But when I turn off or turn on, it makes sounds like a disk is trying to eject. When I push the eject button nothing happens. How do I get disk out?

Can I remove my internal drive, put it in an enclosure, connect it to another Mac with PGP installed, and mount it as a standard PGP encrypted whole disk?

It won't eject because it doesn't recognise it. I've tried putting a DVD in to see if it would eject with that put it just ejects the DVD.

So i put the OSX disk in (10.3) and when i make it boot from the disk the mac logo pops up then it shifts a quarter inch to the right and freezes. I then tried booting it normally and pressed the install button now it boots off the CD automatically with the same result and can't be turned off. Is there an emergency disk remove thing for a powerbook G4? And is there a way to reformat my computer without the disk?

Recently my computer has been constantly showing these pop up information boxes with, "your hard disk does not have enough space" and suggests removing files from your startup disk. What is a start up disk? How can I make room? What is taking up so much space? I don't really download anything major?

I have a Seagate 1 TB Backup Plus Drive which was working perfectly fine until I plugged it into a USB hub. It detected it while in the hub and I was able to get files off of it, but when I ejected it from the hub and put it back into the USB slot on the computer it was not detected by finder. It shows up in the disk utility and I clicked verify and repair and it says:
Verify and Repair volume “Seagate Backup Plus Drive”
Checking file system
Volume repair complete.
Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
Disk Utility can’t repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.
Is there any way to get this to work properly again? Or if not is there a way for me to recover my files on the external hard drive?

I have an old Macbook via 2007 and I'm trying to update my operating system (currently OS 10.5.8) to Snow Leopard, but the disk is not reading in the disk drive. And unfortunately, Snow Leopard is only on a DVD, it can't be downloaded.I figure I have 2 choices:
1) take it in and spend $49 to have them do diagnostics and then tell me they probably need to replace the superdrive
2) I could buy an external optical drive. But I would need to know which one would be compatable with my old *** Macbook.

I set up a 32g partition for windows xp pro. Loaded the disk and formated the partition to FAT. Hold option at startup and load windows. Upon loading windows i get the following message "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." I have tried leaving the xp disk in, I have tried taking it out before loading windows and putting it in afterwords, nothing works. I can not eject disk while in windows.

Is there a way to remove the hard drive from an old MacBook I have that stopped working (the plug where the power cord goes in is messed up nothing is wrong with the hard drive I believe) and use that hard drive as an external hard drive for my new(ish) iMac and use it for extra space? When I download a program or application, can I drag the disk image to the trash and eject the installer. This is an incredibly noob question, I know.
I just always end up with these random duplicate files and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
The problem is with a mbp running Snow Leopard. I created a dual boot with win 7. I was playing around with the partitions, and at one point installed SL on both partitions, sure i did some other bone head moves that i can't remember. Now cannot remove the second partition. I think i may need a boot disk with a application to partition the HD from the disk?

I received my box to send it in for repairs however I do not want to send in my hard drive being that I have sensitive data on there and they could easily work around my password if they really wanted to. I have a cd that I am trying to burn and it doesnt seem to work.I have an imac with only one cd/dvd burner.I put the disk in and goto file and click burn disk then it tells me to remove the disk and put a blank disk in but when I do the original is now removed and there is nothing to burn.I made a duplicate then burned that but it doesnt work on my cd player only the computer.I went to disk utility and created a disk image but it came up blank.I never made a disk image before maybe I did it wrong.

I made a partition in my Tiger Macbook to install WIN. Now i want to delete the partition. Tried to do that with Boot Camp, and the application says it' done, but the partition is still there. Tried with Disk Utility, and I am not able to click the "Remove" button (as on the image).
