MacBook :: Burn DVD From IPhoto So That It Can Be Played On Different Formats?
Sep 1, 2014

If I try to do this in iTunes I get a CD where the songs are in AIFF format and I can't play them on every CD player. And with every other burner or converter is the same, I obtain only AIFF files. Consider that I've already tried a lot of converters and in iTunes doesn't work!

I am trying to burn a photo story I created in iphoto to a disk. When I burned it this morning, all it did was burn the pictures onto the disk. What do I need to do to burn the story, in order, with the music into an actual show? Do I use a different program?
Info:
iMac

I want it to look exactly like it does on iphoto. I read somewhere they said to share it with idvd, but it does not look the same. Everything is different from the music to the way the pictures are changed and the timing. Is there a way I can burn it from iphoto (the slide show) to a dvd? If not why is it not the same on idvd?

using Disk Utility and I am totally confused. I am a first time MAC user and as I understand my system is Leopard. When I click on the disk utility and then burn What? Not even sure if this is the proper way to make copies of my albums, or should I just burn the entire photo list?

I've been trying to burn a DVD from iPhoto's slideshow.
From reading a thread here, I export the Slideshow to iMovie. Which is made into a .mov flie. Then I add some stuff and edited the movie under iMovie. But then I couldn't find a way to burn it unto a non-computer playable format. So I export it from iMovie to iDVD.
So far seems alright.... ready to burn the DVD and all..... but here's the problem:-
1) The oginal photos are around 500MB, after I made it into .mov file... it's like 800MB. After I edited it under iMovie (Just some extra text and all) it became a whopping 9.5GB!!! Too large even for a blank DVD...Have I done anything wrong?
2) Picture quality on iPhoto was excellent.. but when made into .mov the quality was awful...... Anyway to improve the quality?

In an iPhoto event, the photos are arranged in photo name order or date order. What I'd like to do is rearrange the photos in a different order that I specify by drag and drop, and then burn them to a CD (or just a folder I could xfer would be fine) so that when viewed on a PC they come out in that order.

I have been burning pics from iphoto to disc since I purchased my imac with no problem. Now I just get the message "no devices are available for burning". Also, my system does not recognize a cd in the drive. What is the reason? if it can only be that simple.

Is .txt, .exe, and .doc compatible with Mac OS? Does RapidShare manager work on Mac OS? Does .avi work on Mac? Are there any Video players on MAC OS, like AllPlayer, Vplayer, Media Player Classic on Windows?

my momentus xt drive came in today and I just got around to installing it. Installation was straight forward and I got it up and running.Few things to mention. Had to use disk utility and format the drive before OS X could recognize it. No Biggie. It is almost dead silent. I literally can't tell the difference between this drive and the stock momentus 5400 that came with the MBP.It formats to 499GB. I thought this was fairly amazing that it only loses 1GB to the file system.

My machine is Macbook Pro 15" Hi-res glossy core i7 which I just purchased from the apple online store about 2 months. Now my problem is everytime I open a DVD with DVD player, the frame rate is very low (when people move, it's not that clear but when the background moves, it's very obvious) (To see the picture, you can imagine that it's like watching VDOs on youtube, but it's not that bad.) However, the resolution of the DVD is the same. I've tried to open the same DVD with VLC player and it's perfect, so I don't think it's something to do with hardware.

I'm starting to feel vibrations and some kind of "staticky" sound when I play any videos or music near or at loudest volume. Could it be possibly due to a loose screw? I noticed that on the bottom of my notebook, one screw seems to be slightly looser than the others.

The HD videos (1920 X 1080, 24 fps, H.264, widescreen) that I have uploaded from my new Canon Powershot Elph 100 HS camera into iphoto library don't play smoothly at all when Quicktime plays them!! These are .MOV files, and I have Quicktime version 10.1. I also just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion, so I don't know if this is a Lion issue or a Quicktime issue, or some other incompatibility altogether. The videos play, but they are choppy and the frame rate seems slow. No other programs are running in the background so I don't think it's a matter of other programs slowing it down. How can I play the videos so that they play smoothly? Do I need to use a different player (other than Quicktime) to play HD video? Do I need to convert these .MOV files to some other format?Â

It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.

I have iMovie 08 on my Mac, and it is the most confusing piece of software I have come across in sometime now.
I am wondering if there is any way possible in downloading iMovie 06 for free? I have tried for an hour and still no luck in downloading, all I can download is updates. so if anyone knows a download link to iMovie 06 . Also, I have a Sony cam corder what records in .wmv format, iMovie doesn't like this, anyway I can download some 'updates' so that I can edit and render videos in iMovie instead of booting up Windows.

I recently reformatted my MBP. It seems as if Safari no longer wants to save files which I view in the activity window + double click but instead just open them in another tab. Does anyone know why this is happening? I want to save .flv files and all these other files but they don't save!

I have a video file that I recorded to my Windows PC. I have a Macbook Aluminum 2.0. The file I recorded to my windows PC is a Mpeg2, I copied it over to my Mac to try to use it with iMovie. However, it is greyed out as an option to import into iMovie. So, then I tried converting to an .avi with handbrake, as other AVI files I have on my mac will import. However, after converting, the new AVI file would still not import into iMovie. I then used Toast to convert the original Mpeg2 to a .mov file, and again, the file is still greyed out as an option to import into iMovie. Although, the .mov file plays fine in Quicktime, though I use VLC for other formats that will not work, and I also have Perian for Quicktime.
Am I doing something wrong? I have only had my Macbook for under a week, my first time using Mac OS X, still trying to get used to everything.

I have an external hard drive which holds all of my music. It is my main iTunes library and is in AIFF (CD) format. What I want to do is copy this music and convert it to MP3 (or similar compressed format compatible with iPod) from the external drive, and put it into a separate library on my Mac's internal hard drive in the MP3 format. That way I'd still have my original music in AIFF on the external drive, and a copy of it in MP3 format on the internal drive for moving to my iPod or iPhone. Is this possible? Does it make sense? Also, is there a better (in terms of sound quality) compressed format than MP3 to use?

Let us know when you get an Aperature plugin for this.It is interesting that you have plugins for cameras not readily available yet and nothing for the X-Pro1 when it has been on the street for well over a month.
