MacBook :: Why Can't Load Itunes Library Into Imovie
May 8, 2012
Im using iMovie 11 version 9.0.4, and I have itunes 10.6.1, and I'm trying to add an itunes song into my iMovie project but it gives me a message once i click on music and sound effects tab "open itunes 6 or later to populate this list". No music from my itunes populates, and it should be automatically. Now, I do have the itunes firmware up to date.
I was recently using a PowerPC G4 with OS X 10.5 and recently upgraded to a Mac Mini with OS X 10.9. I want to restore my iTunes library from the old computer since it took a long time to get all the playlists together. I moved over the old playlist files and of course all my music, but I cannot get the library to show. I had to move my iTunes library into that "automatically add to iTunes" folder to get it to show in iTunes, but I still can't get the playlists and stuff to come up. I did the thing where I hold down the option key while starting up and then choose the library, but nothing changes in iTunes. It also seems like the file that might really be my library isn't selectable. So is there anyway that I can get my old library into the new iTunes on my new computer?
The music library on my desktop itunes program has all my songs. But I just want some of those songs -- which are contained in a itunes playlist I created -- to be loaded onto my iphone. How can I load only a particular set of songs, or a playlist of songs, onto my phone and not my entire music library?
I'm using Mac at work and I did JAVA OS X Lion update 2012-001 to fix security but it totally screwed up my Java VM. I can no longer even run java -version. It's dead. This is what shows up.Error occurred during initialization of VM Unable to load native library: libjava.jnilibÂ
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Just did the lates Software Update.
My iTunes library has apparently filled my entire iMac (according to the computer I have over 97 days' worth of music). I would like to know 1) how to properly save my iTunes library to an external hard drive and 2) how to use iTunes so that it uses the library on the external drive.
Is it possible to share an iMovie library like you can an iPhoto library? If so how? I'd like to be able watch the videos i have saved on my imac and view them on my macair.
When I click on my Iphoto Library Icon it brings up a blank library screen that seems to be "loading" pictures, but the pictures never load! I have been having this problem for a while so I created a second library called Iphoto Library 2 that functions properly. However, I need an album of pictures from my old library that I can not access!
am new to this and have a new iPhone I was wonder if I can get a simple question answer i tried Google and there seems to be a bunch of ways to do what I?m looking for.So I want to take my friends iTunes library (5300+ songs) and transfer them to my library ( 2000+ songs ) and then once that is done I want to be able to put them on my iPhone / ipod 32g ( 32g 3gs black can anyone tell me how and keep in mind I want to kiss (keep it simple st#$id )
How to get IMovie to recognize that I changed the dates of movie clips that I had to import into IPhoto. Subsequently I deleted an event in IPhoto and the darn thing still appeared in IMovie so that option of just deleting and starting all over again seems not to work. (I did not go into trash and really delete it so IMovie might just follow the clips to Trash!) I happened to find that in the Iphoto Library is a file called IMovie Data (In Thumbnails file folder). If I delete that file, will it cause IMovie to regenerate the thumbnails and put all of my photos and clips in the data order I now have corrected in IPhoto?
Info:iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), IPhoto and IMove are 9
I want to load a second itunes library [just temporary] so I can edit some ID Tags. Is there a way I can load it without disturbing my existing one in play counts and what not?
I was making a mix and I was almost done, and iMovie '09 crashed on me. I see it in the iMovie projects folder, but when I click on it, it loads up iMovie, shows the clip for a second, then disappears. How can I get my mix back??
Last night I decided to update to iTunes 9.1.1, via the software update prompt. It prompted me to restart my computer (laptop, Windows Vista). I proceeded to do so, but it got hung up in the log off screen for over 15 minutes. I turned off the computer and came back into the desktop. Tried to load iTunes, but it wouldn't load anymore. Tried to reinstall the software update, but now it's searching for a .msi file that I have no idea about? Anyone have any input as how I can resolve this, and have I lost all of my music in iTunes at this point?
My search skills are seriously lacking here, as I cant find a guide to do what I want.I currently have a windows 7 pc and an iphone 3g plus ipod touch which sync via the windows 7 pc.I have a 27" imac arriving on tuesday and want to transfer the itunes library from the windows machine to the new imac. What is the easiest way to achieve this?
Certain webistes like [URL], take ages to load after i login. I have cleaned my cache , deleted cookies,etc.... In the apple store everything works fine , but not at home. When using other PC's / notebooks it all works fine, except my own Macbook. Other browsers on my Mc , have the same problem.
Hopefully someone will have the answer as I have searched high and low on this one. I have moved ALL my iTunes content (music, videos etc) to the Shared Music folder on my new WD MyBook World Edition 2 (just in case that's relevant info) and everytime my Mac attempts to load iTunes I have to repeatedly direct it to the library.xml file in the Shared Music folder.Surely there's a proper solution for this? Anyone else out there had this experience and has figured it out.I've noticed that it does this only the first time I open iTunes up, any subsequent bootup within a session is fine, but any restart of my Macbook Pro and I have to repeat this.
I am a long time PC user, and my girlfriend has just recently bought me a Macbook Pro. . So being a Pc user my entire life, i, of course have iTunes on my PC. My question is there any way to transfer my itunes library to my new Macbook Pro? Or is my only choice to do it with a Flash Drive?
Total count is 729GB but that includes, everything in iTunes, Games, Apps, Music, Video, Movies, TV Shows, etc. How does everyone manage this, because right now I have everything on one external hard drive, but it is getting hard to manage. I just ordered a MBA 13" with the 256GB but I think I am only going to transfer stuff I watch listen to and use each day. I seem to spend hours fighting this thing each week, and just when I thought I was organized I find something else. How is everyone managing theirs?
Just got a new Macbook Pro and I want to transfer my I tunes playlist (songs, albums and podcasts to the new computer and then I will sync my ipod to the new computer. None of the music is bought or downloaded I simply copied from Cd's I own. The podcast are free downloaded one. I have tried dragging the library to a flash drive and uploading it on the new Macbook and all I get are the playlist folders not the contents. I have tried the share feature through Mobile me and that does not work either. I can always make it the topic of my "one to one" training this week but this is the last item in moving everything from the old Macbook pro so I can give it to our Daughter. Migration assistant did not seem to work either.
I want to transfer my iTunes library to a new MacBook that I'm buying today. What's the best way to do it? I need to sell this computer before I get the new one so I won't be able to put a cable between them. If I just copy across the music folder in my iTunes media directory, will this be enough? I have lots of album booklets and iTunes LP stuff that I want across as well. The other option is of course the DVD backup system through iTunes.
I have over 3,000 songs on iTunes, which are on my old PC. I bought a new Mac Book Pro this past fall and would like to transfer my old library to my new library on my Mac book pro.. How do I do that without erasing my new library?
1.) I was messing around and dragged the little hard drive icon onto the desk top as I wanted it to be displayed there. Far from it being displayed on the desk top it vanished in a wee puff of smoke .
2.) I have my old itunes library saved onto an external HD. Should I trnasfer all of this onto the new macbook prior to doing my first sync of my iphone?
I have about 80GB at home, on my Windows machine. I use an Airport Extreme router. Is there anyway for me to access this library remotely on my MBA so that I don't have to have all the music cluttering up this poor little SSD hard drive?
Ok so i am trying to figure out the best way to do this over 3g. I want to purchase a WD My book live to store my photos, videos, and all of my music. I know that I can remap my itunes to find the files while i am on the same wifi network.
What i am trying to figure out is can i remotely access and play my music from the WD My book live? Basically by passing my laptop. Is the best why to do this is with a VPN? If so what will let you access an external NAS drive, and run a itunes app?
Is this possible to do or is more pain then its worth?
As it stands I have a windows pc that I hate with about 25 gb of iTunes content that I want to transfer to the MBA. I was just wondering what would be the best way to do it? I was thinking of buying a 32gb flash drive and doin it that way but would I have issues with the format of the drive going from windows to mac?
