My iMac constantly tried to open Mail when I wake it from sleep and I have to force quit, and it just randomly started a screensaver even though the screensaver is disabled in system preferences.

Can anyone answer this question? The nearest Apple shop is a four-six hour drive away. So, I can't go there. I have the 10.6 OS X

This week, my macbook keyboard started becoming erratic, then became much worse. Basically, it started with the tab key not working, then the keys 'r' and 'a' and 'v' stopped. It felt like a virus, although I cannot seem to find many people with similar issues. Progressively, the keyboard has got much worse, to the point that it cannot now be used. Bizarrely, if I plug in a USB keyboard, as I am using now, then I am able to type without any issue.Â
I have searched forums and have done the basic stuff - reset my PRAM, reset the SMC (although I am not sure whether this was done properly, as resetting the SMC was a basic exercise, unlike PRAM reste where a noise indictaed it having been complete). I feel that the next step is to do a complete reinstall, but I don't want to do this if possible, as I don't know how it will affect the lion install etc.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Firefox 13.0 and 13.01 Have a vague recollection of doing an update of Flash or Java but am not certain.I've been reading a lot of info around this problem- none of it describes the exact problem I am having.
1. Suddenly I am unable to get Google.I click Google in the search bar (upper right in firefox window)or type it into the address bar and it just hangs.May connect after a very, very long time. Also... many websites will not stop loading unless I click the X in the address bar.Yahoo (which I had never used until now) comes up quickly.
2.I did the security update. The next time I used Google, it opened quickly.Did searches. Back to normal.
Or so I thought.
3.Within a couple of hours, was back to previous behaviour even if I get to the Google home page, it will not do a search.
4.Repeated all of the above with Safari. Same story.
5.Have checked with Activity monitor with Thomas Reed's malware list -
and can not see anything that seems to co-relate.

I have an Apple laptop (MacBook Pro late 2011). Lately, ads have been popping out all over the place everytime I click my mouse to move to another webpage or even within a webpage. Sometimes, the popups open first than the page I wanted. I know this is malware but I don't know to how get rid of them. Since Safari is my browser, everytime the popups become unbearable I would go to the Preferences and delete the cookies....And start all over again. I've called the Apple Support once and they didn't notice anything wrong with my hardware. It's this malware attached to certain programs or sites....

I have some kind of malware present on my MacBook Air from trying to download a "flash player". I get full page pop-up ads for "mackeeper" and the like nearly every time I click on a link, have annoying ads on pages that I know weren't there before I downloaded this "program", and am now seeing other pop-up ads. As soon as I downloaded this program, my search engine changed to "Conduit". What can I do to get rid of this?

It will show me like a "warning" page, its has I think a black and white background with a message in the middle thats like "This site contains malware that could effect your computer" would you like to continue, etc. I got one for malware and one for "phishing." Ive never had these before, how can I know if my computer has been effected?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAn email from an old friend contained an innocuous-looking link that led to a Mal/Badsrc-M virus landing on the hard drive, in the Firefox Library. It is not removable. In Trash, it leaves a copy where it was removed. In emptying Trash, it replicates intensively so that Trash cannot be emptied until the file is returned to where it was found. Then, Time Machine stays in "Preparing" mode and does not back up the drive. Online information via Sophos declares this virus to affect only Windows. I beg to differ.Â

What is the best way to remove malware from my MacBook Air running Yosemite? I tried searching the forums but most of the answers I found said OS X is immune from them or did not apply at all. I was having problems with copy/paste not working correctly and other weird issues so I restarted my MacBook Air. Now when the computer starts, this ZipCloud window pops up. The last thing I installed was Dragon Dictation. Could that be the problem? Anyway, I just want to know how to get rid of this ZipCloud popup and anything else that got installed that I don't know about and don't want.Â

I had one of 15 of these laptops in the same room and it did not let the user login to a web-based grading site. The MacBook did log in for me at home but, there was a delay with a brief webpage saying something about so many seconds to redirect. (Could not read it all.) I never experienced a delay before using this web-based grading site.

Every time I go to open my safari browser a little grey box appears saying I am getting unauthorized access on my browsers. I believe this problem has occurred from streaming a movie. Â
The box also says this network may be infected. I then click okay and a red screen appears with a white box with writing in it saying to call a phone number immediately and that my mac has found two malicious viruses but I have read online that this isn't a virus just something attached to online streaming. Â
I don't know if I should download a program to get rid of this or to do something else. I tried to reset safari but it didn't work.
